It would seem that we have a member or two that believe they are free from the carnal mind after their salvation, so we will put this question to the group.
Do you still have a carnal mind? Or has God removed that mind so that you will never sin again from the day you were born again until the day you die?
1 Corinthians 3:1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
Makes me think of this ongoing debate in all Christian forums;
Calvinism Vs. Arminianism
Would it behoove anyone to be impartial and take no sides in discerning with Him errors that may be reproved by the Scripture on both sides to get to the truth by His grace & by His help?
Anyway, if babes in Christ can be considered carnal, maybe believers should reserve judgment as to those that are carnal as being unsaved when they are saved.
Besides that, Jesus seems to refer to those astray as the little ones.
Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
So if unrepentant and excommunicated by the church, and if still unrepentant when the Bridegroom comes, and excommunicated from attending the Marriage Supper above, Jesus will get that lost sheep left behind as He will finish His work in them to His glory as they shall be vessels of wood & earth in His House testifying of the power of God in salvation for all those who believe in Him, even in His name for why there are vessels unto dishonor in His House that were not ready but left behind for being workers of iniquity or had their faith overthrown by the lie of the evolution theory or something else. Jesus Christ is really that Good Shepherd and He will lose none of all the Father has given Him.
John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
That is why the five foolish virgins that ARE the kingdom of heaven along with the five wise virgins were denied by Him to attend the wedding reception for being in iniquity but still within that kingdom of heaven that they are a part of.
Matthew 25:1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
So even those we address as carnal believers living in sin, they are still saved but called to depart from iniquity or else, they will miss out on the rapture event, left behind to face that fiery calamity on a third of the earth Revelation 8:7 KJV that will set up the coming great tribulation for the rest of the world, but even though cast into the bed of the great tribulation, they are not cast out of His kingdom for when they die, their spirits will be with the Lord in Heaven awaiting for their resurrection after the great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House, the vessels of wood & earth. That means the prodigal son cannot get his inheritance back from spending it on wild living, but he will find that he is still son.
