II Thessalonians 2
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God (present tense), or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God (present tense), shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth (present tense) that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work (present tense):
only he who now letteth (present tense) will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Your second verse speaks of the Day Of the Lord, and the verses that follow describe what shall be (future tense), although I will give you that the temple of God is US, and the carnal
mind does sit in the body pretending to be God and desires to be worshiped.
However in that set of verses there is also to be a singular anti Christ in the world, The Eleventh King arising out of the final Kingdom. It is He that will require worship of himself as
though he were God.
One can conclude there are 2 different meanings to the verses, but the one Paul is speaking to is he that comes just prior (future tense) to the Day Of The Lord.

That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first (Future), and that MAN of sin be revealed....................The carnal mind has been revealed to ALL who are in Christ,
well of those off the milk anyway, so the revealing is of a MAN..........
