God is in Control

For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying: "Do not say, 'A conspiracy,' Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. Isaiah 8:11-12 NKJV

After Election Day of 2020 (just eight months ago!), you probably heard more than a few pundits, political activists, comedians, and even some of your friends state that we’re either back on the right track or that our days as a great nation are numbered. For many, the results of the election brought either crippling fear or unrestrained elation.

For the Christian, however, the election results should neither shake nor confirm his belief that no matter who leads our country, God is and always will be on the throne and is still in complete control. That is why His message, “Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” Applies as much today as it did in Isaiah’s time.

Do you ever find yourself felling fearful for your nation’s future—or even where it is today? Don’t forget: God’s in control. He always has been, and He always will be !

Prayer: Sovereign God, every time I read or watch the news, I can’t help but think that the world I live in is very quickly coming unraveled. Remind me daily that no matter how bad things look, You are in complete Control.

I realize this is a devotional but I need you to show, where in the bible does it say that God is in control in the Earth....If it does not say so, you are probably wrong.

Was God in control in the garden of eden? If so, why did sin occur in the most perfect place humans ever lived?

Dear Brothers,
I wonder if both of you believe that God has a purpose to allowing everything that is happening in the World, and directs as needed to have His will done? Too often humanity sees Control as signifying God dictating every signal action, act of will, word spoken etc. that occurs. This is not what is meant by this Devotional, and not contrary to "Free will", which I'm assuming you my brothers are considering when you read the word "Control".
For me when "Control" is used it reminds me of the usage of Scripture of "foundation of the World...", "Revelation", "Authority", "Do not fear for I Am with you" etc. and not the type most view that would negate free will.

I hope this eases your minds as it pertains to the title of this devotional, and its meaning.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

John 1:10

Colossians 1:16

and : Matthew 28:18. Jesus said......"""And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”""""

Yes, that was my point. God has control of what He can control, and He can control a whole bunch. But He abides by free will, so of course He cant control us, and because we were in the equation, stuff outside His will happen. He works well with the results of our own bad decisions though, and He is in control "if" we truly let Him be in control.

Yes The Cross was His plan from the our world's foundations
Rev_13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Can you post a passage of God telling us we have free will? "If it does not say so, you are probably wrong."

@Christ4Ever

Greetings Nick,

Should we move this thread to Bible Discussions or elsewhere?
Somewhere the children can play?

Bless you ....><>
Dear Brother,
You can bring a smile to my face!

I do like to keep the Devotionals separate whenever possible. So, of course, moving it, or let's say we make a copy of it. I can then trim off from this devotional the comments and add a link to wherever it gets relocated for those who are interested in discussing the subject further.

This way our Brothers in Christ can have at it. :) I occasionally get that child like feelings as well, so I might add a thought or two as well once it gets copied. lol

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I shall leave that pleasure to you, Brother.
When I see the new thread, it sounds like I shall be needing to keep an eye or two upon you!

Bless you ....><>

For anyone who reads this Devotional and would like to have a discussion on the subject of God being in Control. Please click on the link below.

I'll allow the existing postings on this thread to exist for the next 24 hours. They have been copied to a new thread and placed in a more appropriate location so that some understanding can be had by initial readers of this devotional as well as those who have already posted here. Once the 24 hours are up, I'll delete those postings that were copied from this thread.
