Fruit of the Spirit ( Which is lacking)

Loyal
Greetings, I am sure that many are aware of the Fruit of the Spirit.

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience(long suffering), Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self-Control.

I know they are all really of the one Fruit, Love, just but different aspects or facets of Love.

Yet with that said, which one of the nine do you find that Christians often neglect to cultivate, or forsake praying
to develop in that area?

PATIENCE. LOL!!!!!! And maybe self control. Most people when in the flesh, want it their way now. And to cultivate these seeds for them to grow, you have to die to want and wait for God's timing. That is really hard to do. It is so important in following Christ and overcoming sin.

Very good answer. Two good choices.

Question, how would you say that the fruit of Faithfulness is manifested in a believer's life?

What is your understanding of what the fruit of Faithfulness means?

So I think of the parable of the sower where the Word of God is the seed (Matthew 13). I see the fruit of the Spirit as the fruit that grows from this seed, from the Word of God, when we hear the message and apply it into our lives. Each person is given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3), so we cannot have any more or less of it. It is up to us to listen to the Word and work on applying it(water the seed (renewing our mind) and tilling the soil (our hearts: what kind of soil are we going to be? Will we listen?).

Fruit of faithfulness... Is both a noun and verb!!!! Faith is something to put into action. The fruit of faithfulness is not only believing the Truth, but living the Truth I would say.

Fruit of faithfulness is manifested in a believers life when someone can meet things with courage and have joy in trials, praising God in good and bad times.

Well said, would you see that the same as remaining steadfast?

Peace, I need to settle down, sit back and let mankind destroy themselves rather than get to involved or upset. Yelling at newsreaders deliberatley lying on TV will achieve nothing except increase my blood pressure!

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Do no cast your pearls before swine. You warn people once, and witness to them once, if they scoff or blaspheme, turn and walk away. This is the state the world is in today, fake christians, fake people who love the world, to the extent they obey government officials rather than God the mighty creator. Well, let them!

Amen brother, glad you are seeing the path to peace.

1. (esp of a person's gaze) fixed in intensity or direction; steady 2. unwavering or determined in purpose, loyalty, etc: steadfast resolve.

Yeh, that does sound like faithfulness. It takes hard work. I know not getting distracted or fearful is my continual thing I have to work on.

You warn people once, and witness to them once,
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
(Luke 13:6-9 KJV)

To the literalist, Jesus at least gives a person four years, not "once and off with yer head."

You warn people once, and witness to them once,
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
(Romans 2:4 KJV)

I don't see where it is written "the warning of God leadeth thee to repentance." And how does "once and done" fit in with forbearance and longsuffering?

You warn people once, and witness to them once, if they scoff or blaspheme, turn and walk away.
Ya gotta admit, that doesn't sound very merciful or compassionate.

You warn people once, and witness to them once,
Where did Jesus teach that? (Just wondering.)

Then what is one to do with this passage?

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Only one?
I don't know about everyone else but for me, i would have to honestly say, all of them. BUT i do have to add that i am encouraged with all nine you have given through the grace of God in Christ Jesus our Lord by the means He has given us all to share in, namely His Body and if i may add, through all His Creation... and this i know to be only perceivable to me, who is but gathered dust, by the work of the Holy Ghost and the Love whereby He loves us.

Thank you for this encouraging reflection that i suggest all need.

Bless you ....><>

I believe there are many fruits.
Those above, found in scripture , are not the only ones, other than ( of these this is the greatest) Love is probably the most important.

To me, all of these, as listed in the Bible, are as Agape fruits. As much as we are called to do these, only God is capable of doing them perfectly!

But, the very first fruit, for which none of the others are possible, is belief.

Though, all of our life; after believing, we strive for these fruits because God put them in the Bible as very important; we fail in so many ways, much like with His definition of Love,

But, after believing, with God, it is much like Professional Baseball Batting Average: If you retire with average of .300, you go into the Hall of Fame. That means you " Struck Out" or failed an average of 70 % of the time.

As it is with God, though we are not perfect, at this time, we are still in His Hall of Fame by the very first fruit...believing!

I disagree with many. Certain theologies teach they are al of love but Hebrew thinking was much more practical than that. These are fruit not gifts. They simply are not a given and this is why there is a distinction. Fruit must be planted and cultivated. Each is a distinct fruit that can be grown in you. You want love? Plant love (sow to the Spirit) and cultivate this way of acting toward others and in due season you will reap. Do you want to grow in kindness? Be ever kind and so on. and remember, different fruits take different times and efforts to produce. Shalom in His name.
