Are you scared of God?

Active
I was browsing a forum I'm not yet a member of and found a very interesting discussion going on. I thought it would be a good topic to bring here.

Are you scared of God? Do you worship, believe, because you're afraid to go to Hell if you don't?

My answer is no to both questions. Add you own if you feel like it and we can see where this goes.
Sincere, respectful replies requested of Christian sisters and brothers here please. Thank you in advance. :)

Waggles, please make me understand why one should fear the one who died for them. Why should one fear the one who gives them every single thing they need all through their lives...Why should one fear the one who delivers them from demons......Why should one fear the one who heals them of ALL their diseases?

The reverential respect for God is the begiinning of wisdom.....Is that why so many Christians become fools, because they choose to be terrorized by Love rather than reverently respecting Him? What do you think?

The Title Thread:
Are you scared of God?

Since we are referring to a english word: "scared"

No we should not be scared of GOD.

But we are commanded to FEAR HIM. I do believe once we really gets to know HIM and more closer we get to HIM the More we FEAR HIM! GOD is "HOLY" the closer you get to PURE "HOLINESS" your knees and your soul cannot help but shake from fear!

But we should not be scared of GOD.

My earth fatrher i never have been scared of him, but i fear him! A lot of us in the black hood when we was kids, if we stole or raided apple or pear, trees. the police would catch us, we would beg them to to take us to jail, but please do not take us home. And guess they took us home! The police knew we were getting a whipping! The fear of my father kept straight! Oh' no I'm going home. Y'all can do what y'all what to do, I am going home! And Mrs. Sally Ann, don't have to worry about her daughter when she is with me. Day or night! I feared my father! and love him!

The world does not know the difference between being scared and fearing! And why have these things CHANGE! Who change these definitions and gave them new meanings! And when I mention the word "ETYMOLOGY" MANY CHRISTIANS on "Talk Jesus" start growing horns and spiting out fumes! As if I was the devil himself.

And many refuse to look at the "
Webster Dictionary 1828" which is free. it is so strange i had to pay thousands of dollar for books to get to the TRUTH of GODS WORD, skip means. put books in lay a way. Now days many just get materials of "regurgitation" from other men and women. Polluted materials, many get it and run back and proclaim this is the TRUTH! I go this off the internet.; This the greek, The devil likes this generation, you can feed them anything in the name of JESUS.

I will post it again.

and please scroll all the way down until you get to the KJV definitions

FEAR, noun
6. In scripture, fear is used to express a filial or a slavish passion. In good men, the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character,
leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience. This is filial fear.
Jeremiah 32:38 And they will be for me a people, and I will be for them God.
39 And I will give to them one heart and one way, to revere me forever, for good to them, and to their children after them. [LEB]

32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: [KJV]

Greetings,

I know this is a potentially distracting post but I ask that we don't derail the thread...

Today many to most are scared and fearful of what might happen if either they do or don't oblige with the current world war flu laws and requirements and/or if they might contact what has been repeatedly told to be a deadly virus.... and/or who or what they think might be scaring them regarding the motives and prospects for the future .... and to all that we can see the many to most fearful of the law, fearful of losing their livelihoods and comforts, fearful of evil.... and yet having no fear of the LORD.

I say, it is incomparably better to fear the LORD.

Please read...

{A Song of degrees.} Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.
Psalm 128

Bless you ....><>

I spent three tours in combat and I learned that scared and fear are not even close to being related. I never felt the skids lift that I did not fear being shot down or crashing in the jungle. On the other hand, I had, what my training and experience taught me to be, an imminent engine failure. When the fool Major forced the craft to fly, I was scared and the aircraft crashed without me. I flew better than 100 hours in combat fearing failure but never scared into immobility. Fear YHWH? Yep! I fear failing Him.

Exodus 9:20-21 Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the LORD hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. But those who ignored the word of the LORD left their slaves and livestock in the field.

So those who feared the word of the LORD believed the LORD, did they not? Those who did not fear the word of the LORD did not believe that the LORD would do as He said He would, and ended up slave-less and livestock-less.

Additionally even Pharaoh confessed his sin, but he did not repent! Exodus 9:27 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. "This time I have sinned," he said to them. "The LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong.

@Mister, don't you see that fearing the word of the LORD compelled them to act?

I fear God because I am a struggling Christian and am unworthy. I hope that Jesus will accept my apologies for my many and continuing failings and forgive and accept me.

Well we all are going to find out, At The Bema Seat of Christ or The Great White Throne Judgment. That is why we go to court and stand before a Magistrate or Judge! So we all must stand before The JUDGE! That is why we go before HIM and hear The Everlasting Verdict :pensive: My knee's shaken now:( Standing Before A "HOLY GOD"!:eyes: "I hope too"! I hope He forgive me of all my sins both known and unknown and small and great! And I ain't going to wait till i get there, to confess and repent. Today is The day of our salvation, for tomorrow might be too late.

(John)BSB
"I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness. .....As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. .
..There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.… :pensive:
