Paradise

I thought it would be good to look at the word Paradeisos and compare Scripture with Scripture to see how this word is used. I think I've found most of the occurrences. I may have missed a few but I don't think I've missed many. As we look at these passage the words garden or paradise are the Greek word Paradeisos. As you will find reading these passages, every one could be read as garden. The word Garden fits in every verse. Given all of this evidence, I don't really know how we can say paradise is a place in the earth for departed souls.


And God planted a garden eastward in Edem, and placed there the man whom he had formed. (Gen. 2:8 LXE)

And God made to spring up also out of the earth every tree beautiful to the eye and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of learning the knowledge of good and evil. (Gen. 2:9 LXA)

And a river proceeds out of Edem to water the garden, thence it divides itself into four heads. (Gen. 2:10 LXE)

And the Lord God took the man whom he had formed, and placed him in the garden of Delight, to cultivate and keep it. (Gen. 2:15 LXA)

And the Lord God gave a charge to Adam, saying, Of every tree which is in the garden thou mayest freely eat, (Gen. 2:16 LXA)

I would say the two together are a soul, the body and the breath of life. As I see it, the body wasn't called a soul until after the Breath of life was put into it.

Body + Spirit = became a living soul

Body (no spirit) = a dead soul

Body = Soul

With Spirit living, without Spirit dead.

At last breath the Spirit returns to God, what is left is the Body, a dead soul.

If this is correct, the body/soul goes to the dust of the earth, to the grave, that would mean Hades is the grave, so then I guess, if this is the case, the question remains, where is the gulf between the righteous and the lost?

Which brings us to, as some commentators say, the story is a parable.

There are many pastors, under whatever name they call themselves, that are academic carers, not born again. They are good speakers, they preach what they learnt to lost and saved, without the spirit, they call all their congregation saints, because they know no better, it is what they learned from a book. They have a job, with perks, it gives then a pension also, if they are not born again it is a job, that is how it has become, it won't like that from the beginning.

Bother, let's be clear here and I think the Bible supports this:

God is Spirit.
Jesus in his resurrected life, is Spirit and a Resurrected body (God given).

God tells us that those who are born of the Spirit, will have a body just like Jesus.

Though the Bible doesn't elaborate, apparently the Resurrected Body can transform between the Physical and Spiritual with ease and ,also, it seems, that once we die, we will have these same capabilities!

When we die, we move to the Spirit world; eventually with the presents of God or without ...I choose with!

At this point and in the pages following your reply here, I think we may need to consider there to be a denominational teaching that compels some of the contrary remarks.
When that is the case, the loyalty to denomination supersedes what is actually in scripture.

" So it is with the resurrection of
the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body."

There are denominations that teach Jesus was human. And was only imbued with divine qualities at his Baptism through the descent of God's Holy Spirit.

There are those who also believe Jesus resurrected as flesh and blood human. And ascended to Heaven as flesh and blood human.

And there are those who claim to know Christ, were Baptized, and believe they are sinners who sin.
And in my years those believers I've known are telling the truth about their state of mind and Spirit by acting like the Devil and speaking his language of hate, disdain, and contempt, toward Christians who don't abide in their theology.

It's an education to say the least.
God inspired the Bible to come into existence that we may hear from Heaven God's eternal truth.
We say we believe its message, and then we prove that false when we make Jesus and the covenant he died to deliver and seal anew and for all time through his blood into something we prefer to accept.

Yes. Stand by the truth. God is watching all of us.

Pray for those who speak evil while defending their understanding of grace. Then, learn from their example .
