Where is the One and Only time the Apostle Paul mentioned 'Hades' (Hell)?

Member
Once discovered, I'm curious of the interpretation in it's context.
Mysteriously, the translators did not place the name "Hell" on it like they did everywhere else in the New Testament.

Is this an indelicate question?

As far as I'm aware 'Hades' doesn't appear in any of Paul's letters. But I'm happy to be shown otherwise.

Hades doesn't indicate eternal damnation. Hades is the resting place of the dead.

You read too many commentaries.

Admin and their eunuchs on this site are not even honest about where the name Hell comes from - Norse Mythology.

You started the thread on the word Hades, not Hell. I'm still interested on what you've got to say about the use of 'Hades' in Paul's letters.

My post is a question - is there no one here proficient enough in the Bible to answer it?
You won't find it by looking up the word 'Hell', no translation place 'Hell' on Hades where Paul mentioned it.
Because it incinerates the current misconception of HELL.

It is a MASSIVE SMOKING GUN.
Just like those teaching Hell-Fire in Mark 9 NEVER quote verse 49.

I can't answer your question. I don't see any place where Paul uses the word Hades. If you believe it's an important issue then outline where it is and why it's significant.

If I wanted to do that, I would have by now.
I'll give you a hint.
You can find it in the Young's Literal Translation, they never use the pagan name Hel from Norse Mythology.

Obviously?
lol.

You'd really have egg on your face if I did reveal it - but I won't cast this pearl unless someone else wants to find it.
I'm just exposing the ineptitude of those on this site.
Translation: I don't know either. Play your little game. 2 Pet.

Dear Member Amethyst,
Must we insult because those on the site don't feel it necessary to participate on something you have posted? These
type of comments do nothing to further your postings. Next time you decide to add the additional comment. Pray, and think
twice, and don't do it. Warning forth coming.

First Paul isn't our Lord, our Savior, or our God. He hadn't ever been to hell.
Jesus created everything. He mentions hell quite a bit. So do Peter, James and Jude.

No one knows for sure who wrote Hebrews, it could have been Paul.

Heb 10:27; but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.

This is a vague verse that could be speaking of hell.

@Christ4Ever - how offensive - "playing my little game"? Did you give this mortal a warning?

It's really a style issue - silly little "Challenges" (like 2 Pet 2:4) often are positied by folks who really DON'T KNOW what they're talking about, and they almost NEVER play well on discussion forums.
