Speaking When No One Is Listening

"But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD.' He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they [are] a rebellious house. Ezekiel 3:27 NKJV

You probably didn’t read it here first, but not everyone you talk with about the Lord is going to eagerly receive what you have to say. Some may be genuinely interested, but many others will politely listen before excusing themselves from the conversation. Still others will cut you off and give you the old “talk to the hand” gesture before walking away.

You may go through times when your attempts to plant Gospel seeds yield fewer results than those of a cold-call salesman trying to peddle something few want or need. That doesn’t mean you should give up. On the contrary, God calls you to continue speaking the message and then let Him do the work within people’s hearts.

God calls each Christian man to tell people about Jesus. So be ready to share what Jesus Christ has done for you and what He can do for others. Always remember that your job is to speak, even when people aren’t listening.

Prayer: Father in heaven, it’s sometimes difficult for me speak the transforming words of Your Gospel. Help me overcome my fear of rejection and continue speaking—and then let You do the rest.

I have been on a couple of other forums. One dwindled to nothing and the other one had problems I won't relate here. I have good memories of this place with only a couple of exceptions, so thought I would revisit for a while and see how things are. Think you for your prayers. My wife and I were already very limited in our activities simply due to health and age problems. This lockdown situation has reduced us even more but we serve a God who is able in every situation. I am also praying for you and yours.

Thank-you for your prayers. Like you and your wife, my wife and me are limited in what we can do. She is now in a wheelchair, which is new to both of us. So, even through the trials that show up, now again, He has guided us through each and everyone of them! \o/

Also, glad to see you back here. Always something going on here! Maybe not in abundance, but does make for interesting exchanges.
