Im still not right with God I gamble, have bad thoughts, I curse, sometime I look at porn, Im depress and wavering in my faith. I think you have to be in
a good place to do a testimony but Im not. Sometimes I feel like I will never get right with god because I waver in my faith. Every time I read the bible stories it just seem unreal. I might of blasphemy the holy spirit, I dont even know what it means to blasphemy the holy spirit everyone got their own meaning to it. Should I give up? maybe christianity isnt for me but when I try to have faith in something else I keep coming back to the bible, I think its because I was force to believe in the bible at a young age and cant excape from it. What should I do? Keep reading the bible because there so many stories I havent read yet.

Friend,

nobody can be forced to believe anything at all.

The Bible is complete with the most essential teachings we could ask for and receive of God. His Spirit is revelatory--teaching us what is right and what is good. You've become aware of thoughts that distress you, and that you participate in activities that are harmful to your spirit and mind and body. If you're unsure of the scriptures, then ask yourself if the teachings are true. We know that all true understanding and wisdom comes from God, and that this kind of knowledge is faultless.

Dear Godsangel,
If you don't mind, I'd like to start with what is your testimony that you would share with another?

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Its called brainwashing.

Its called brainwashing.

Brainwashing is one thing. You're intelligent and capable of reason--which is what brought you here. I could see how others may be brainwashed by malice, but that's entirely a different subject. If you're taught when you are young that killing is wrong, that stealing is wrong, that inflicting abuses on others is wrong, that speaking offences such as insults to others is wrong--is it not reasonable then to consider that if you punch somebody in their face, they also might punch you in your face? If you hurt someone else, it is very likely that they will retaliate and hurt you back--does not the Bible teach these truths? If we acknowledge that indeed these are truths--would you prefer a place of murder, theft, and hostility? The Bible is complete with sound doctrine--principles that build on peace, joy, and love.

Having been taught principles from the Bible is not brainwashing--it is a blessing.

Also, people that are brainwashed are normally prisoners that don't and never did have the freedom or liberty to walk the streets and choose what they believe in, where they will go, what they will do, etc.

Dear Gopdsangel,
I felt that what you have written was the case concerning your testimony.
For a Christian, your testimony is really in reference to why you believe what you believe, and the how/when you came to receive Jesus that first time! Some folks can remember the date, place, etc. You can check in the bios. of some of the members to see, though I've come to find out that most people don't really know what it means by "testimony". :-)

The reason this is important, is because no matter what anyone says to contradict what the Bible says, people do that's for sure, as well as some of your own doubts. You have one thing that no body can take away from you, and that is that first time, you repented, and received our Loving Jesus Christ as your Savior! Also, no matter what happens in your life, you will always have that one moment in time, that reminds you what standing strong in the Lord really means to you personally! Because even if you fall, down again, in sin, even the ones you mentioned, coming back to the foot of the Cross, reminds you of the cost of our sin, and that He's not going to let you go!

So, give it some time, some thought on that Testimony of yours. If you have it, try writing it down. If you don't, then it's as good a time as any to go to the foot of Cross and receive Him, in repentance, humility, and for me many a tears, knowing I was not worthy, and could never be worthy to every do it by my own effort, and He made sure I didn't have to, because I'd always fall short, but He reached across that vastness of darkness to take me into His bosom, and then start writing that Testimony of Yours!!!! Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!!!

Anyway, give it some thought and you can post here or PM if its more comfortable for you.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

What you have written God's angel, is a testimony and an honest one. It appears to me that the enemy is trying, by tempting you to sin, to make you doubt. But the Spirit won't let you go. All Christians sin, if they say they don't they lie. The fact that it bothers you means it's not in your nature, and it's not in your nature because you are a Christian. We are in a war and we heve to learn how to fight. Get your teeth into Ephesians and learn to fight. Welcome to the Christian walk, resist the devil and he will flee from you and then you will start to feel joy, and remember that God does not see your sin, he sees the blood of his Son who died for us. We are covered by the blood and our sins are washed away. Bless you

Thanks

Often when people are sharing their testimony, they work around their life story. I think that's a mistake.

Your Christian testimony is your personal account of how Jesus has intervened in your life. If the Lord Jesus has entered your life and you have something to say about it -- that's enough.

For example in John 4 the unnamed woman Jesus met at the well went into the village saying, “He told me everything I ever did.” A perfect testimony. The village invited Jesus to stay, and many believed because of this.

It doesn't have to be a complete story with a hollywood ending. Just an honest and clear account of how you have encountered Jesus. Maybe spend a bit of time thinking through the best way to express this to someone who is outside the church, and then you're good to go.

Hi GA,

Quick question, do you want to give your testimony? I think it's a wonderful idea. The answer to your question is, there's no time like the present. Please don't wait until God has completed His work in you because that will be too late, you'll be in Heaven. No, you're a work in progress, yes maybe early stages, way to go! No I hear too many testimonies spoken in the past tense,

That said, in the UK we have a saying, don't do your dirty washing in public. You mention your dysfunctional family but rather than berate them I'd make it more personal, more about you and God, how you came to meet Him, your struggles both with your faith and with mental illness. That is something that more and more people can relate to today. Share what your Hope's and objectives and how you're hoping that God will provide and the audience to pray for you.

Like God, people are more interested in your present and your future than your past - well I am anyway. Write it down and rehearse it, I'm sure it will touch a lot of hearts.

God bless you, richly,

Love Andy xx
