I comitted the blasphemy against the holy spirit

Member
Hello, i have been up for 2 jours trying to look for a solution but i am afraid i am doomed. I read the bible and at a moment i thought "that's not true" i and began to panick because i thought i comitted blasphemy against the holy spirit. Then i read articles about what it really was, (saying the holy spirit work is the devil's work altho it's not). So i tried not to think it, because i have OCD and when i don't want to think about something, i obscess about it. Anyways i tried but for a moment i doubted that the holy's spirit work was the devil's work (but it's NOT). I doubted and i comitted this sin. Is there any Hope for me ?

The only sin that will never be forgiven is "unbelief" in Jesus. One of the Holy Spirit's job in this world is to convict sinners that they need salvation and that only by believing in Jesus can they be saved.

Jesus said about the Holy Spirit......

Joh 16:8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:
Joh 16:9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me;

When people "reject" the Holy Spirit's conviction that will never be forgiven.

Hello, first of all thank you for replying.
But in the bible, Jésus clearly said that the blasphemy against the holy spirit will not be forgiven. And this is what i did. Because for a moment i actually had a doubt. And this morning i remembered someone saying to "drinking blood in the communion is a satanic ritual" and i know Jésus' blood is sacred, but i still doubted because i thought "drinking blood is a satanic ritual" even tho i KNOW the blood of Jésus Christ is sacred not satanic and saved us all, and it saves us still.

Also, a lot of people say, the unforgivable sin means to reject the action of the holy spirit until their death, but this is not what Jésus said

Hi Anony,

I know sometimes unwittingly we look at a problem through binoculars and it looks much bigger than it actually is.

FYI communion is an adaptation instigated by Jesus of the Jewish feast of Passover. Passover celebrated God's rescue of His people out of Egypt, Holy Communion celebrates the rescue of everyone from the clutches of death, by the substituted death of Jesus. Sickening Pagan rituals attempt to imitate those two celebrations, not the other way around. Satan is an impersonator.

When the Bible tells us we have to fear God, that doesn't mean we should be afraid of Him. We can be in awe of Him and eternally grateful for our rescue from an unthinkable end. This passage springs to mind-
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12‭-‬13 NKJV.
Work out is what you do in the gym, same here. The fear and trembling is an antonym for blazè and taking for granted. Our imperative is God's pleasure, we do that with praise and obedience of His will.

With regards to the OP I think you've had plenty of reassurance that you've not transgressed. I would only add that if you're having thoughts that you can't control and blowing them up out of all proportion, it might be an idea to get your mental health checked out. It may be that you're on the cusp of a bigger problem that can be avoided by early intervention. If you do get checked out and there's no problem, where's the harm?

Anyway, can I reassure you sis to keep on keeping on, lots of prayer, praise and read that Bible :) God bless you xx

Thank you for replying, but it started with a thought and it made me DOUBT. Like i'm scared part of me believed this.

sounds normal, are you willing to say and claim the thouhgts as your own, to proclaim them as yours, I think not otherwise you would not be here with a repenting heart.

Matthew 15:18-20
But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

First welcome to Talk Jesus @Anonymeanne,
I hope you will find what you are seeking here at Talk Jesus this online community of Christian believers!

As far as what you believe you have done, it really requires understanding. So, with that being said. You really need to define what not just you believe it is, but what Scripture, and the Holy Spirit guides you to understand (Since it is about Him isn't it) what exactly is "Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" as shown here in these verses:

Mat 12:31 KJV - Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Mat 12:32 KJV - And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.

Mar 3:28 KJV - Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
Mar 3:29 KJV - But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Mar 3:30 KJV - Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Luk 12:8 KJV - Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
Luk 12:9 KJV - But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luk 12:10 KJV - And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Here's a quick look at what some believe it to be. Some say that it refers to the attributing the miracles of Jesus by the Holy Spirit to Satan. While others believe it to mean that Jesus Christ is actually demon possessed. In other words, denying the power of God.

You must realize that we as believers are all in the process of growing closer to/in Christ. A lot of times the believer does things that they shouldn't, and some things that they really, really, know they shouldn't. It is in these time that the Adversary/Satan, has a go at them/us! Understanding that he has no love for us, and will do whatever he can to drive us away from our Loving Father. These are the times that this subject seems to arise the most in the believers. You have to understand that Jesus when speaking of this was not speaking to those who believed Him to the Son of God, the Christ. So, they were associating what He did to Satan, and taking away the Glory that should have been given to God, to the Adversary instead. Not a good thing to do.

Also, keep in mind that because it appears you are convicted of some of your actions, that you are concerned with having done the unpardonable sin. You have to realize that the conviction you feel comes from the Holy Spirit! Not that you've done the unpardonable sin, but rather that you are doing things in your life that are leading you down a path, that is not of God! That is why you need to reevaluate the life you are leading. Is it, drawing you closer or further away from God?

It is in these times, that we need to redouble our efforts in doing the things that our Father who is in Heaven approves of, and the things like, praying, reading the Bible, going to church, fellowshipping, etc. that will help us to walk in the path God has set before us.

I could go on, but I think this and what others have said here, should I pray have given you enough of an understanding, and help in what you should do.

Once again, be welcome, and I hope you will continue to visit us here! For in Christ Jesus we are Brothers & Sisters.

1Jn 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
1Jn 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Everyone has a conscience, and our conscience can be trusted "if" we have our mind renewed with the Word of God.
If our conscience does not "condemn" us (the only way this can happen is if we know the Word of God) then we will have "confidence" toward God. "Confidence" has to do with being frank or having boldness. People who have faith (which only comes from the Word of God) will always speak with boldness.

Sometimes we will do things that are not wrong, but if we think they are wrong, then they are wrong to us!

Whatever we do that is not of faith is sin. This is why it is very important that we know the Word of God.

Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Awww ... Anony, I've a funny feeling that you're doing it again :( - put them binoculars down! lol. I bet you a pound to a penny that if you went public in here with all your 'Too much shameful things', there's plenty in here that could trump them with even more disgusting sins, probably including yours truly. The brilliant thing is, that what we've done, and what anyone else in here has done, they don't matter. We don't earn our way into Heaven by good behaviour, no our sins, all our sins, even the ones that make us shudder when we look back, are covered by Jesus's sacrifice. So please don't feel too bad about anything that's gone before, just confess to God, say sorry, repent and then forget about them - because God has.

The doctors to are trained and ordered not to judge patients and they are bound by the Hippocratic oath not to disclose anything you tell them. So if a doctor asks you how you're feeling and you say 'yeah I'm fine', when in reality you've got chest pains and pins and needles down your left arm, chances are you'll have a heart attack on the way home. Much better to open up and tell the doctor or the psychiatrist everything, warts an' all so he / she can make an informed and accurate diagnosis and put together a treatment programme and have you feeling better as quick as possible.

Meantime, try in your own mind to distinguish between normal, regular, healthy thoughts and wonky ones, and just disregard and archive the latter. Keep praying, the Holy Spirit can help your recovery, just ask and keep on asking and thanking God in faith for your healing as well as for a whole host of other stuff that there isn't time or room to list on this thread. God bless you.

====================

Dear Lord God, I want to please pray for Anony, tension, anxiety and stress all vie against the peace and comfort that you want to fill us with to overflowing. I pray for healing Lord so that the fog of mental health problems lifts and she can get a real vision and experience of you and your working and leading in her life.

I thank you Lord that this is in your gift and that you're all powerful, in complete control but more even more important than that; Lord you love both of us, despite our failings and shortcomings, we're so precious to you, you didn't ponder for even a second when the sacrifice of your wonderful, precious son was needed for our redemption.

We just love you so much God. Thank you dear Lord.

Amen.

Dear sister,

It is so easy to think we have blasphemed the Holy Spirit, the devil will put all sorts of things in our mind to condemn us, he is the enemy of souls, its what he does and sadly he is good at it, many years experience I would think would be sure for us to say.

But the devil puts things in our mind, to tempt us, that is not sin, if we are not tempted we have not sinned even though the thought came into our mind.

Brother Andy puts it well above sister, me can look at an issue though binoculars, the issue seems larger than it is.

Now you are right to say, Jesus said, scripture tells us, we shall not be forgiven if we blaspheme the Holy Spirit. There are many verses, I think there are at least 11 from memory. So it is an important topic.

Everything I read above from your posts Anonymeanne, says you thought. Your thoughts relate to the Blood of Christ also, which yes sister, is Holy. I pray for peace in your heart sister, I do not see a concern, your heart is right with God, allow me to share my thoughts here.

- Thoughts come to mind, we think they are ours, the devil does this to tempt us. So do not be concerned about this.
- Although the Blood of Christ is Holy and very special to all born again from above believers, Christ's Blood is NOT the Holy Spirit, His blood washed away our sins when we became new creations, we are protected by His Blood, I believe His Blood has protected you here Anonymeanne, Thanks be to God. Trust in the Lord Anonymeanne and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will guide your paths.

You are the Lord's sister, purchased through His Blood, you are washed in the blood of Christ so that the Holy Spirit can enter your heart, they are two different items. You have nothing to worry about sister. You did not blaspheme the Holy Spirit, let us rejoice and give thanks, Greater is He who is within you than he who is in the world sister.

Jesus loves you, we do too.

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. \o/ \o/ \o/

Peace be with you Jesus says, we do too.

As a Christain, we are all in a "war" with the unseen forces of darkness. The battlefield where this war is taking place is in our minds. Information about our enemy and in how he moves and the tactics he uses to try an trip us up is vital to having victories over them. God said......

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

There is a Bible called "The Battlefield of the mind Bible" written by "Joyce Meyers". It comes in different translations.
It has a lot of explaining of the scriptures about the human mind and how the devil tries to use it against us. You can find them either on "Amazon.com" or at "Barnes and Noble"

My wife has both of these and says they are very very good.

Dear Anonymeanne,
Going to see someone for help is a good thing. Still, understand that you yourself have the ability to start doing the things that will help you grow in the Lord and His Word (Bible). Example: Setting some time aside to devote to talking with your Lord and Savior. Just a regular conversation that you'd have with a friend :) Some people do this first thing in the morning. Maybe, reading a verse, or finding a Devotional that you can do daily to start your day off right. You can also do this throughout the day if you have time. Then at night a prayer, and reading His Word some, will give you time to put the troubles of the day behind you, and give you peace of mind for a good nights sleep. Being OCD, might make it oddly enough easier for you than most to get into this time of routine. We do have a Forum for Women, where you might find likeminded Sisters in Christ Jesus who could help guide you (See link below).

Know that I'm Praying for you.

Anonymeanne, you, like myself, have committed this sin, however you, like I, have not committed "The Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" that is not forgivable! All sin is forgivable until we leave this realm and transfer into one of the Eternal Realms to await one of the two Heavenly Judgments. A Bible Study with friends on the subject will benefit you by volumes and will sweeten your relationship with the Father beyond measure.
