I find it so hard to believe that a "Child of God" will promote the reading of a book more strongly than reading "The Book". That is strange to me.

I have notice through out my years in Christ, I have realize Christian writers promote themselves and their words about God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, marriage and money. They make a lot of money as a whole by doing so. And if you ask them where did they get the information to write "THEIR" book, their answer: "The Bible". The wise will understand what I just said. Now just pay attention to what the brave has to say, and learn:no_mouth:

No stranger than the children of Israel wanting more than just mana from heaven. It was fully everything they needed, but because of their complaining, God gave them doves also. People like more than the same food all the time, no matter how good one type is.

It seems people in the Bible read other books from time to time.

Numb 21:14; Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the LORD, "Waheb in Suphah, And the wadis of the Arnon,

Josh 10:13; So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

2Sam 1:18; and he told them to teach the sons of Judah the song of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jashar.

Jude 1:14; It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones,
Jude 1:15; to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."

One might mistake the "English syntax" in the title of this thread it would seem so far by the reponses it would occur. To clarify the "English syntax" of the thread. The year is 2020, the readers live in this period, the majority have a least a high school education, can at least read upon a eight grade level. Those who live in a country who's first language is English, most likely by 8 grade has had English as a course for at least 8 years by 12 grade has been taught English grammar for at least 12 years. Most every language has a "syntax of their language". So I know we all can agree on this frame of thought. You see God has so ordained it to be, that the Bible is written in a common vernacular language that even a little child can read in our era. For that was the intent of the translators.

Getting back to the title thread. This is 2020, we have the New Testament in our language and the OT as well, mostly the OT audience could not read. Plus the Old Testament was a shadow of things to come, even the Phophets that phophesies hardly understood what their prophesy was fully about. The NT reveal what the Old Testament was about, Jesus unveiled it. For he is the one to come, for the Old Testament testify's of Him. So in other words if you want to know Him, behold He comes in the volume of "The Book" in which many of us call it, by its real Greek name "Biblos" in English translation "bible" meaning the "The Book". In this century men and women promote their "book" instead of promoting "The Book". For it is the very WORD of GOD and who is the very WORD of GOD who became flesh and walk among us, His name is above all names for HE is the Truth. For GOD has Highly Honor it! [ the Proclaim WORD, the Written WORD, the Living [Reveal] WORD] then we have the words of a man and the words of a women, and the words of a child. [about God], [how they see God]. Then we have "The Word" who reveals to us "The Father". In which no man or woman can do.

His WORD, His Truth, has already been Revealed by a certain type of purchased with a high cost, it is not for sale! But men and women, as it is seen have polished it up or applied certain types of tapestry to improve or to make it better or to add what GOD has left out and put a price tag upon it, with justification on How to prosper in it's truth. And if you got enough money your children can go to a "Christian School" and get a Christian education. If you can afford enough money to buy all of their "books" you can have a wonderful "Christian life". This is the face of "Christianity" in America, that we project. Living "The America dream". Is there not a discrepancy in this matter?

I say, Let us project reading "The Book" like we read all books. We start from the beginning like it is The Word of God that came down from Heaven, and quit lying to ourselves for it only hurts us and the ones we love.
We must promote this i believe instead of our dreams, our prophecies, our interpretations, and mostly our books, but let us of low degree promote the reading of God's Word With clarity and the reason why we aspire to obtain to this goal.

Greetings brothers,

The Bible should be all we need, one Bible yes, additional ones maybe.

The Bible should be all we need, but we buy commentaries and dictionaries, additional book!

Why is the Bible not enough, answer - 'it is' enough, so what is the problem? It is all down to translations.

So why so many translations? Because the English language doesn't include words with the same meanings as in Greek and Hebrew.

Maybe we should all learn Greek and stick to the New Testament, that would be alright but the NT refers to the OT and visa versa so we would need to learn Hebrew also.

Maybe we should just stick to one book after all, The Bible. We could try that but the Bible is 52 books.

We cry Lord Help! He says I give you 'My Word' that is all you need!

Thank you Lord that solves everything now.

The argument that I am presenting is why don't "Christian" promote the chronological reading of the Bible. Most Christians only promote themselves and the church they attend. And hardly never emphasize people to read their bibles. And if you ask a Christian how many times, through out the years have they read their bibles from front to back they grow "fangs and horns". In their respond, as if you ask them to commit a great unpardonable sin.

This doesn't apply to Watchman Née books, they are compiled from his sermons and written notes, and he spent twenty years in prison because of his beliefs, he didn't have vast estates and private jets.

I have to agree brother,

The Word is Truth, Truth is in the Word.

Many Christians are influenced by the group they are part of, the denomination they are part of. There are no denominations in the Bible, I appreciate however why there are so many, which as we know was and still is down to wrong teaching by the RCC. But it seems each have gone their own way, each picking up on their specific beliefs from The Word, as if to promote we are different, we are 'this denomination' without using the denomination word. There are no denominations in the Bible, their will be no denominations in heaven.

Sadly by promoting a different type of worship it drives the ekklesia apart rather than together.

Years ago I attended a series of services, Churches together. It included CofE, Methodist, Baptist and RC. The following was very noticable

Only a small number from each denomination attended, the rest stayed away!
The smallest numbers were from the RCC, they didn't want to mix with other denominations. Could it be that they are taught only Catholics go to heaven? I am sure there are many reasons but, denominations have split the ekklesia, I am a catholic, I am a protestant, I am a baptist they say. But if each has saved souls we are all part of the one true church, the ekklesia, the Bride of Christ, the spiritual stones, our Lord must weep at times.

I personally do not belong to a denominations, though I am happy to go to services in many, not all, I will not be yoked to them. I belong to Christ, He purchased me by His Blood, He is the head of the church, the ekklesia not the kuriakon, I accept all who are born again, regardless of age, sex, country, tongue, ability or disability, regardless of skin colour are my brothers and sisters 'in Christ Jesus'

The Bible is God's Word to all mankind, it is Truth, the Truth is in The Word, we should all read and study what God has prepared in advance for us.

Bless you my friend

Why do you need the words of men written upon the pages of wood in any book?
And what would you do with it?

You forgot to include the countless Christian thieves that have used the music and words of
the Spirit of God given to them by the Holy Ghost for the saints who then in turn copy right them
sell them merchandise them and use them to gain the riches of this world.
And say glory to God.

If you take anything that is given to you by the Holy Spirit
and sell it and of all things copy right it then charge the church just to use it...

God is going to cast your soul into hell.

I used to have a strong likeness of "Watchman Née" writings in the late 1970's, matter of fact I have read all or mostly all of his books. And still have the copies in my personal library, but as I grew in faith, and begin to see more clearly, and the errors in man and their writtings, "Mr. Nee, is just dust on the shelf now, that will dissipate away". But the "Word of God" will last for ever, that lives within me and wash away all others that tries to consume me." So I do know the attraction of "Watchman Née" and the anointing that is on his writings and not on his ghostwriters.

Hi Ploughboy, Watchman Nee died in prison for his faith, so it surprises me that you can be so disrespectful, I wonder if , put to the test, you would die for yours, as he did for his.

The Word was revealed through the prophets, through Jesus, through the Apostles, so that we would know the prophesies, that we would know what Jesus did and what he taught, so that we would understand we don't have to live in sin and die but could receive salvation through Jesus and have eternal life.

Over and over again we read write down, Moses was told to write on the tablets, the prophets were told to write down, John was told to write down in Revelation.

Exodus 34:27
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

Isaiah 8:16-18
Write down all these things I am going to do, says the Lord, and seal them up for the future. Entrust them to some godly man to pass on down to godly men of future generations.

1 John 5:13
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Revelation 1:19
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter

The above are just a small number of the verses with this instruction 'write down'.

God has given us His Word, He instructed certain people to write down certain things, He did so to reveal Himself, His Love, His son. He wanted them written down so that His Word would stand the test of time and that by reading His Word we may be saved.

If I want to know anything...I ask God.

So why do I need another when I am connected to God Himself at all times
by the same exact Spirit that all them of old had in them?

Is it because you do not have this access to God?

This is how I know with no doubt if some one is of God.
God talks to them everyday and answers them at all times.
The only time I crack a bible is when I have to deal with them who
live for it as if it were God.

Hi Paul, don't we write on this debating forum, sharing our understandings? And yet some of the very people who pontificate here, decry any writings other than scripture. I find that kind of strange. bless you mate.

I have a very good question for you.
How do you think Mr. Nee would have fared if he grew up in this day and age
and had to go through and face the trials and temptations of this day and age?
It was far easier to be strong in your constitution in 1922 than in 2020.
And far far far less temptations and evil spirits to deal with everyday.

Actually, Truth reaper, I was going to answer your question, then it occurred to me that you are a spiritual bully. I haven't read a kind word from you in any of your posts, they are bitter, confrontational, lacking in compassion and it seems you believe that you are some kind of super saint. In fact I believe that if you had to face the persecution that the house churches in China faced you'd likely bottle out. I pray that God softens your heart and gives you the grace to be kind. Bless you.

I call myself being kind, concerning "Mr. Nee", now I will be solid: "Watchman Nee" words are Not "The Word of GOD"! Nee's words will not, last forever. "Nee's words does not produce "eternal life"! Nee's word's does not improve "The Bible"! Or can explain "The Word or reveal who GOD is, only the unadulterated "WORD" of GOD can do that in your own language. Our GOD is a jealous GOD! And the only mediator between us and GOD is "The WORD" [Jesus Christ our Lord"]

My brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, "the veil in the Temple was torn apart that you have access to "Our Father" through His "WORD"! His SON, a name HE have given him above all names, above the names of "Aurelius Augustus", John Calvin, Pope John-Paul, above the Martin Luthers of Germany, Above the T.D Jakes, above the A.W. Tozers, and all of the Martin Lloyd-Jones of England. Are their names exalted by GOD the Father?
(Romans 3:4)
"May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED."
So I proclaim this day above all "Names"! " the names of your churches, the names of your organizations, the names of your Pastors, the names of your "universities", the name of your denomonations both pro and non,, and truly above all of the "Watchman Nee's" of China!

(1 Corinthians 2: 1-5).
1And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

Shalom, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord.:pensive:
