Active
I have been thinking about this issue recently and would like to know what God thinks about gay people and same sex marriages?
I would really appreciate any advice on this subject
I just want to say Thank you for welcoming me into your community with such kindness and amazing replies with so much care in replying at length.

Hi Josephine,
There are two questions here; Question one, regarding homosexuals, the love between men; Jesus had a special love for John, and King David had a special love for Jonathan, neither of these loves were sexual. Jesus, who says, in John 5-30, by myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. This is Jesus who, when tempted by Satan in the desert, used the written word (the sword of the Spirit) to defend himself. The written word that declares that sodomy is an abomination to God. David, who loved Jonathan, was heterosexual, this was borne out by his sexual desire for Bathsheba. I believe that the love between two men, or two women is powerful and rewarding and a blessing from God. But, as all blessings from God, they become targets to Satan and his demons, who introduce sexual desire into these relationships, and, as such, pollute them. So these relationships, because they are loving in their true sense, although now tainted by immorality, make it hard for believers to debate, because the origin, before Satan's involvement, was pure, and the love, after Satan's involvement, is still powerful even though polluted, and cannot be broken, as, in its true sense, it's still Godly. All one can do, is to point out what I've just pointed out and pray that the couples involved will abstain because of their love for Jesus. As for marriage, scripture calls men and women to join together and become one flesh (a baby). This, cannot be done by two men or two women, however much surgery they undertake, or social manipulation they use.

Thank you Trevor that was written perfectly for me to understand. And has given me clarity for what I have researched online.
Thank you so much.

1 Cor 6:9; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1 Cor 6:10; nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

ve that the love between two men, or two women is powerful and rewarding

Yes God wants us to love one another, we are commanded to do so. However love and sex are not the same thing and have very little to do with each other.
I love other men, but I don't sleep with them.

1 Tim 1:9; realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers
1 Tim 1:10; and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

Rom 1:24; Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
Rom 1:25; For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26; For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Rom 1:27; and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Rom 1:28; And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

Rom 1:32; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only those who do these things, but also those who give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Merely approving of other doing it, makes you guilty.

Lev 18:22; 'You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

Matt 19:4; And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
Matt 19:5; and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?
Matt 19:6; "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."

Two men or two women cannot become "one flesh" under God's covenant.

That was very profound B-A-C. Thank you for giving the references also.
That made it perfectly clear what the Bible has to say on this issue.
Not to offend Trevor in any way shape or form.

*I didn't want that to sound sarcastic Trevor, sorry. It was meant with the best intentions.
I just wanted to show my appreciation to B-A-C.

Hi, B-A-C
I believe, that what you have written, is in fact what I said, but without the judgement your post carries. The judgement in your post, I believe, would cause a homosexual seeking salvation to walk away, because you've only posted what a homosexual would see as an attack on his or her relationship, albeit the truth, rather than an explanation of how Satan defiles love that is a blessing and turns it into a curse. A homosexual who is brought to understand the scriptural love and what turns it into the unacceptable, could possibly, if desiring a relationship with Jesus, find the grace to turn away from the sexual side of their relationship thus purifying it, allowing them to enjoy their walk with Jesus, Scripture calls us to "judge not", so to explain truth, rather than bullet point penalties, would, I believe, be more advantageous in evangelism. bless you. Trevor.

Trevor, I think the biggest problem with most of us are words definitions. And the “church” has not clarified biblical word meaning even to it’s own. Like the word “love” the world identifies with and the word “Agape” [love]. That God identifies with. These are two completely different loves. Agape is obey my commandments in a “new covenant”. And all your unrighteous acts (sins) pertaining to God word will be wash away. God love is not like the worlds love. The two are like night and day. So I think on both sides of the fence sometimes, communicating words are a big problem just like you addressed.

We should also show our love to the gay community as well, they also needs the love God, for he did die for them too. And they do not need hate speech, or made to feel bad, or ashamed for who they are.

You're right Ploughboy, I am a sinner, I came to Jesus for forgiveness and salvation and praise God I am now born again, only because, Jesus showed me mercy. Scripture tells us that all are sinners and fall short of the glory of God, If anybody claims they have no sin, then they are liars, If we point out another's sin, then God looks upon ours. I'd rather he didn't look at mine.
