Meditate on God’s unfailing love

O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. As your name deserves, O God, you will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory. Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice. Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of your justice. Psalm 48:9-11 NLT

The Psalms encourage you to surrender to God’s judgments and plans, but you may be right to ask: “What kind of God am I surrendering to?” Surrender is no easy matter. Do you trust God’s judgments more than your own? What will happen if you leave your own paths behind and pursue God’s judgments and plans instead?

The people of Israel offer a helpful starting point in your meditations: God’s unfailing love. This is the God who continued to send prophets to His people even when they were unfaithful. And then when all appeared lost, God sent His beloved Son to save His people from their sins. This is a trustworthy God who is worthy of your best hopes and plans.

If trusting God is a challenge, perhaps the place to begin is considering what’s on your mind today. Are you considering the ways God’s love has been manifested in your life? If not, then that may explain why it’s hard to trust God during this season.

Prayer: Lord, You have proven Yourself faithful and just. May I rest in Your unfailing love today and always.

I'm not sure how to proceed on a new direction. I'm looking at ways to live it.
Hello Full ArmorofGod
I'd say first is to pray, and then look not only to your strengths, but where you are weak as well in doing service. Weakness' are more apropos because it requires one to lean on our Heavenly Father for not only guidance, resources, but perseverance as well. Which is as it should be. Though you should realize that either one requires you to seek His guidance first and foremost. Then trust Him to know that the path and direction that becomes evident to the newly arrived task, is set for you to do. Focused to fulfill His will in your life, to His Glory and Praise.

Realizing that it very well might be something that you've previously had contact/experience with, or something you feel you are totally lacking for. Come to grips, that whether it is something old and familiar, or new and daunting. This new part of your life, though unbeknownst to you at this time, is and will be, the best path according to His will for you in your life at this time.

This of course is as I'm sure you know, a prerequisite to you stepping out in faith. Though it may be at times a painful, and of course joyous travail. It will speak to trusting in God's understanding, and not your own.

Know that you will have prayers going Heavenward on your behalf.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I'm going through a hell of a time. I am battling workplace politics. I would like to start a family at some point in the future but I have no partner and no obligation but to my own selfish ways.

This is a significant part of the problem. I am not sure what to do. I am fairly unhappy with the circumstances. I am looking for a alternative. I feel valueless atm. I hate it. It is soul crushing. I need to find a way forward.

I have managed to get by on very little. It kills any long-term success and prospects. It is soul crushing. I am still young enough to make a decision on my end but I am alone. I have had dates but I am skeptical. I am scared of the future.

I lost so many people in my life. I pray for help. I am lost. Struggling. I have seen stuff. I don't know what to do.

Hello FullArmorofGod,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time of it, and seem lost as to what God wants for you in this time and place.
To address the first thing of workplace politics. As the name you have chosen to use here implies, and is all important to being covered. Let those things that are temporal, move from the level of importance that others and the world place in them, to a place more deserving to be identified as a distraction. It is easy to get embroiled in these things. I've experienced them, in the many places. It happened in each base/location I was stationed in while in the Military, as well as my last state job from which I retired from. Staying separate or better yet "neutral" can be difficult when sides are being drawn out. Always seeking those out those who agree or disagree. To either join them, or set them as the opposition/enemy to whatever the conflict happens to be revolving around at this time. What you need to do, besides being separate from the back and forth, is also showing the calm that knowing that "this too will pass" in how you comport yourself at work. You are there to perform/accomplish a task. Either by leading others, and/or following the directions of others in authority. Whether you agree or disagree, with the guidance you receive or have to communicate should not dictate how you show yourself to the World as one in Christ. I'm not saying that this requires you to be perfect in all things, but rather as I said before. Don't embroil yourself in these squabbles, because rarely if ever do they accomplish anything positive, and only increase animosity between the workers and/or management. Be that Island of calm and though many don't use it now, if you don't know what to do, then pray, and seek in the Word what would God have you do in this or any particular situation that arises in any area of your life. Seeking His guidance, and with the Holy Spirit within you as a believer. You'll know when the answer/behavior that is best for you is provided. Even as the storm rages around you, you will have a calm, a peace, of Christ that will come upon you, which if you follow, will eventually ensure that all is well. For all is well with your soul, is not just a song, but one that in Christ is something of a life for us who believe in Christ Jesus as ones Savior, Lord, and King!

As far as starting a family in the future, and trying to reconcile doing so, with your own selfish ways. Again, as in all things...Prayer! Pray for that partner, if in God's will to provide you with in the future. Ask that they be covered, and within His will, that when they do enter your life. That they'll have less baggage then you currently have when they arrive! :-) Also, pray that it very well maybe that, yet unknown person, who is in Christ Jesus, will help to elicit the changes you need to make in your own life! However, so as to not have too much baggage for that yet unknown "better half" if that be God's will for you :-) Realizing certain traits that you have are in need of correction "no obligation but to my own selfish ways". What helps is, committing yourself to "Service". The best way, but not the only way. Is to seek through the ministry in your Church, what service you can provide in helping others. Not knowing the particulars of the church you attend, or even if you attend church. This can be one of the best avenues for helping others, that will start as you progress in this endeavor. To will help you change your outlook towards not only to others, but a healing for yourself as well. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and each day is part a renewal as you move forward in your walk with Christ.

Lastly, don't be afraid of what the future holds. Count each day that you live a blessing and one dedicated to achieving/completing what God has for you to do this day. I'm not saying don't plan i.e. finances, studies, etc. What I am saying is that look in each day, for how God is entering those in your life who He would have you communicate/help/assist for Him, so that He may receive the Glory and Praise He is worthy of!!! It could be as simple as opening a door, with a smile for someone carrying a load, or even helping to carry that load. It's not in the grandiose things that many believe is what they need to do, or they'd be a failure in serving God, but rather in the everyday life, and our interactions with others in how you comport yourself, and the communicating of the Gospel, that you are showing others who Christ is. We shouldn't have to tell others that we are Christians, because they should be able to tell that we are by how we act, speak, live the life we have in Christ Jesus.

Know brother that I will be praying for you, and I'm sure if you were to ask that other Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus here at TalkJesus, that they will also gladly add to the prayers going Heavenward on your behalf. Remember that the enemy wants you down and distraught, as you appear to be right now. You are victorious in Christ Jesus!!! Never forget that. We know the end of the story!! :-) Also, knowing that if you were to compare your life to others that are experiencing persecution, travail. Your life might just might have a different outlook on how your own life is going. Look at the life of Paul in Scripture and all that he went through. Your own life, as far as trials go, might not be looking so difficult. You are beloved of the Creator of the Universe, and He wants to spend eternity with you!!!! Doesn't get much better then that Brother!!!

May God bless you and watch over you brother. Also, hoping that these few words may provide you some comfort and hope in our Lord Christ Jesus.
And with the Love of Christ Jesus I close this post.

I can't live without money. I can't start a family. I am looking elsewhere for opportunities but I am enduring and I have been for a long time. It feels futile.

I met a girl who is a believer. I went out with one recently. I felt sparks with the other. Now, I don't know anymore. I am in a bad place so the probability is not good.

I have been praying but it feels more dark then ever before. Despite my efforts, I have always suffered and struggled despite how far I have come. The life feels wasted. I need a new path. I am praying for it and working on it.

I appreciate your prayers.

I have lost lots of family and friends. I'm a bachelor. I have been fine being one. I am just not thrilled with the idea of being one forever or being a father late.

A hard reality is that, I see women hit late twenties, and now its suddenly time to get serious. I resent it. If I met someone young and we built a life together, I wouldn't feel aversion.

I am going to pursue a girl I met from church. Leave the rest to God. I went out with a different one but it seems to align more with what I resent and don't want.

There's no end to the chaos. It makes me think about how selfish it is to start a family. They will have to endure the same.

I can't unsee what I know. I just surrender to God.

Hello FullArmorofGod,
I don't think you need to quit the job, but squabbles at the work place is nothing new, and is not something you as a believer need allow yourself get involved in is the point that I was trying to communicate to you. No matter the job, unless you work by yourself, it will eventually require you to have to deal with conflict of one kind or another. It's how you handle it as a representative of Christ in this World is the important part.

As with the other subjects you discussed. They all have a defeatist attitude, as if somehow there is no hope for your circumstances. As I stated to you in my other post. You have victory in Christ Jesus. Here are but a few scripture verses which reflect this. Don't be defeatist, but be Victorious in Christ Jesus!!!!

But thanks [be] to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4-5

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

Don't let your desires, and carnal expectations take precedence over your Spiritual walk in the Lord.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak [as] of the world, and the world hears them. 1 John 4:4-5

For it is easy to look through the eyes of others life, in the belief that they have it better then you. Your treasure is not here, but in what is to come. Read the following Scripture. 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 Which speaks to so many nuggets of gold that you can extract great joy from. Here is one particular verse that when you are feeling down, is worth meditating on.

But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

I know, and remember how difficult it was when I was young. Patience is not something I had then. It always had to be now, or near enough that I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. For God has said:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Hold on to these verses, and most especially, the entirety of the Word of God. Pray, study, interact with other believers (assembly), because when you're down like you are now. Having other Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus to talk with, and fellowship with is very important to lifting your Spirit that you may rejoice and not be down even in the most trying of times. Love you Brother, and hold firm to the Faith, and Hope with have in Christ Jesus!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Nick, it's not so much the squabbles but, the reality is that, I have no future nor progress to be had here. It is almost by the fact that I am a practicing Christian, I am target practice. I am unhappy about this and looking at my next move.

I had a date with a girl. She is cute. The vibe is weird. While she says she is not looking for Games and wants a family, I am skeptical. She's nice but at age where I am cautious. Younger then me but... I met a cute girl who is in the church. The vibe was intense but it seemed off last time. Maybe it's me with the stress.

I surrender to God. I am at my witts end. I have been alone my whole life. I regret pickup but without it, I never met anybody. I am still single. I am just trying to do good. A bachelor is always tempted.

I like the idea of a church girl but I know many church girls who are on tinder and chasing Chadd or Tyrone. Not wife material. At this point, I have never to date met wifey material but, I am seeing the two play out. God willingly.

My minds been grappling with, "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

I can do that but, I am aware of the male sacrifice to be a man, father, husband for the right reasons. The only thing I can do is to ask God for help.

Due to pickup, I got to date. Despite the rapid response of me too and victim culture, I have seen cucking, untethered open hypergamy and infidelity. I have been propositioned by married women. I am just and I won't do that but it is moving me away from the final stages of development. I am wanting to settle down at some point. I have seen so much its kind of hardened my heart. It is not the best time to know what I do. Seen what I have seen.

I wish I was like my grandparents. They did it right.

Dear Brother,
First, where is a Christian actually looked to in a secular work environment? Except when everything goes bad, like 9/11 and fear takes over, as it will now with the Coronavirus. That you are a target, means, hopefully, that they see you as a Christian. It doesn't mean that you're a wimp, or someone who automatically must accept abuse. This is still a workplace, plus there are few conversations that you can't instill parts of the Gospel to. Take advantage of each situation given to direct them to Christ. Still we persevere even when they won't listen. Now I'm not saying that one shouldn't look for another job which would elevate us, or if the Spirit of God moves us to go elsewhere. Of course you listen and do so. But stating it's because you are a Christian that the issues are arising. That in truth is something totally different. I don't know the job you have, and so can't appreciate the unique dynamics it has you're currently facing as a believer. Always remember however, that whatever the circumstances you find yourself in, you are a witness, and it will provide you opportunity to give your testimony to an unbelieving World!

I have but one Scripture for you as your life appears to be spiraling out of your control. You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21 NLT

As far as relationships go...I've been married 36 years, so it's been awhile since "courting" :-) was a part of my life. That the girl you are identifying as "cute" goes to church is a plus. If you find out that Jesus is first in her life, even before you. Then foundationally, she is a keeper! For when there are problems the hope is that she will first seek His guidance, and not those of her friends/acquaintances, who probably have their own issues/agendas. As I hope she is doing when she looks at you! Is this a man of God, who seeks to follow Jesus Christ first in his life?

Also, be aware that this is not a race against time. Meaning if you don't wind up getting married in "X" number of years. It just won't happen, or it won't be fulfilling. I look to my own parents, as an example. My Dad was 58 and my Mom 36 when they were married. Both for the first time, by the way :-) I was born when they were 68 and 46 respectively! A biblical example one can look to Abraham & Sarah. So, believing that a timetable has been set to when this or that must happen whether in a relationship (wife, family) or job. Understand that this is giving yourself unnecessary anxiety on top of everything else life tosses at you. Trust that God is in control, and He knows what He's doing, and that its best for you!

There is more I could probably say, but at this time, I leave you with a verse, that a Brother in Christ here at TJ, loves to use.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33

If you Bible thump, you will end up in HR. I hear how people talk about their wives and husbands or kids. It's appalling. Despite the fact I do my best, I have a lot of people who are not believers and hate me. There's a few fake believers that manufacture drama. In public speaking about God is good but cunning in the shadows. It's creepy.

People will attempt to provoke me or slight me. It's a attempt to set me up and off. Then, play the victim. I offended someone or I scared or intimidated someone.

I wished someone happy new year and the person got all offended. It's actually funny. It's just a matter of time before I get either fired or I willingly move on. Unfortunately, I don't have much options atm.

I have but one Scripture for you as your life appears to be spiraling out of your control. You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21 NLT

Why do I suffer? I sometimes wonder if I did some wrong things in my life or past life. I once saved a little girls life. I tried to save family. I had family members die in my arms. I have been present when loved ones passed on. I can't imagine what purpose any of it has. I know guys who commit suicide after a breakup, divorce, child dies or career loss at forty +. If I were weaker mentally and spiritually, I would not be here to MSG.

As far as relationships go...I've been married 36 years, so it's been awhile since "courting" :) was a part of my life.

I approached with her parents. I didn't want to embarrass her. Little flirt. Once prior. I am going to ask her out next time. If not for game, I would be a spectator and never met her or others.

I went out with another girl recently. She's cute. She's Christian. She's a mystery. Weird, I met her then the other girl right after. I am fairly attractive and in shape. I am making sacrifice for God atm. I am praying too.

It's annoying. Everything is tinder and hookup culture. I am a sinner and a hypocrite but I am not marrying someone like that. I am avoiding being jaded. I am meditating on Psalms. Ephesians. Gospel.

Also, be aware that this is not a race against time. Meaning if you don't wind up getting married in "X" number of years. It just won't happen, or it won't be fulfilling. I look to my own parents, as an example. My Dad was 58 and my Mom 36 when they were married. Both for the first time, by the way :) I was born when they were 68 and 46 respectively! A biblical example one can look to Abraham & Sarah. So, believing that a timetable has been set to when this or that must happen whether in a relationship (wife, family) or job. Thanks man.

It scares me sometimes. I feel God's calling. I still want a family and a wife. I don't want to just sleep around though I am tempted.

My predicament is a need for change. A new path in career and life towards a family. I am doing my part by Walking with God. I am going to church. Meditating and praying. God willingly, I will do that.

God blesd and thanks. Btw if and when I do, I will share my successes with you and help inspire others who are struggling.

Dear Brother,
Who said anything about Bible Thumping? Let me give you my own story. There was a person who stopped me in the hallway at work and had a question concerning the Bible. He knew to ask me, because my work space had all the identifying marks of a Christian :) Scripture Verses, Screen savors with rotating Scripture verses or other similar items that would give me comfort on many a day. Anyway, while I was talking with the young man. The HR Director walked by and looked at us, and I returned his look. The Spirit told me that this would come back. It took about two weeks, when the Director of my section, asked to speak to me behind closed doors. This was a first by the way of ever having a closed door session with my Director. As I sat down, the Spirit told it that it had to do with what happened 2 weeks prior. So, before letting the Director speak. I told her what it was about. :-) Meaning that the HR Director had seen me in the hallway talking with a young man concerning the Bible. She had a look of amazement on her face when I identified the why of this meeting. I then continued to let her know that should anyone ever stop me and desire to talk concerning my faith, the Bible, etc. I would continue to do so, even if it cost me my job. Now if that was what was going to do, then she should go for it, because my faith, and helping others was my primary concern, and not the job. Jobs come, and they go. If God wanted me there, I knew that there was nothing that man or woman :-) could do to change that, and if He had another place for me to be, then that was okay too.

My director used a word I didn't recognize. Which I believe was Catholic one for someone driven by faith. She told me that she understood, and that if possible, just to minimize these situations, and in truth she was only relaying what she was directed to by HR. :-) Still I did let her know that I meant in sincerity that if it cost me my job so be it. However, it also didn't mean that I wasn't going to go down without a fight. I donate to an organization called American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) which does legal work for those who have problems due to their religion. Be it at work, school, etc. What I would suggest you do, is find out exactly what laws govern the do's and don'ts of free speech, in particular as it pertains to religion. Many HR's think to run rough shod over people of faith, and succeed in this because many believers accept what they are told on face value, and don't do the necessary research to find out what they can or cannot say. That is why if one says Bible Thumping is not allowed, I would ask what do you mean by Bible Thumping? In truth what they are saying is that Evangelizing is not allowed, which I have no problem with, unless you're on your own time. Just speaking about Scripture, the Word of God is okay to do! If they say no, then have them give you a written document stating so, then you can get in contact with an organization, which doesn't have to be the ACLJ, but one that deals with such cases. Normally, cost is not an issue with them. For they are able to do this, by the donations they receive from others. They are powerful advocates for the Faith. The head of the ACLJ, is actually part of the legal team for President Trump, during the Impeachment hearings. He has done more then one case before the Supreme Court as well. There are resources out there for the Believer, when they are being persecuted in the Workplace. Use them, because you're not powerless. You are a Child of God, and He has provided resources for you to use, so use them!!! Doing so, will not only help you in this job, whether you stay or leave, but also those who follow who are of the faith as well!

More important is how you deal with the individual situations that come up during your work day. Whether co-workers, who are trying to entrap you, by speaking of your faith or you include yourself into a conversation and discuss how your faith has helped you out. Sometimes, if someone is going through a hard time, just let them know you'll pray for them, and then don't forget to do so. Not necessarily then and there, but don't tell them something and then don't do it! Remember that it's okay to do these things. There is nothing that says you can't! Just evangelizing is not to be done. Just talking about what you believe in and how it has helped you, which you can do by using examples of things that have happened in your life, and how God has helped, is not something you can't do. Especially if the other person is the one who initiates the conversation. Just get to know your rights! People like to toss HR around as some all powerful overseer that has the last word. Not so, and most times they themselves don't know all the existing laws that govern free speech in the workplace or figure nobody is going to challenge them on it. In fact you might just get to know your HR people, and pray for them as well.

You next thought on having done something wrong in this life or past life.....if reincarnation is what you think is possible. Then disabuse yourself of it. It's not. You have this one life to live, and then joyously for us, we get to be with the Lord!! Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

Understand that you life is now in Christ, and is not of your own. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20 I have a feeling that your sufferings are more due to the fact that you care so much then the circumstances themselves! I used to as a child, look out the window and see people walking down the street, and the thought would come to me that many of these people were going to Hell. Tears would start rolling down my cheeks for my heart going out to them. I still feel for people, but it's changed. Meaning that I do what I can to present, or help in some matter those I don't know. An uplifting word, an act of kindness, and if I'm blessed a long conversation on what Jesus means to me. Since then, I know that each person has decisions to make and I can't make them for them. I can pray for them, over them, but if they reject it. I've come to understand and hope that the seed has been planted, and pray that another may water it, to blossom into God's Saving Grace through Jesus Christ. I'll not admit defeat even though I may not know the outcome in each persons life! My hope is in Jesus, and not my own abilities or what the World tells me that this or that is what the results are going to be.

A Teacher in the class I'm currently taking in Church, likes to say "you're either in the middle of something or getting ready to get into something." as it pertains to God working in your life. Understand there is more growth from the trials we go through, then the easy times. We rarely learn from the easy ones, while the hard times, always have something to teach us. And with this teaching, we use it not only to benefit ourselves, but others more importantly! So, stay faithful, and know that all you are going through will be used to help others, as well as yourself, to the Glory of God, and prayerfully to the increase for the Kingdom of God!

You could probably feel that pain as I messaged. I have my faith. I would lose my job to do God's work. I'd just be broke and alone lol.

I appreciate your genuine support and help. I'm warned by a monk that as my spirit rises, my temptation and challenges will too.

Change beacons.

I ask God for the strength to endure and make a change. My ego is crushed by this burden time and time again.

I wish I had security to be confident enough to walk away from work. I know a battle awaits. The username isn't a random thing. I choose it. I am living it.

I pray for a better gig to serve God better. I pray for a wife and healthy children. I am willing to sacrifice everything to make it happen.

It looks like things are gone south with one girl (or not). Met a few more. I am having a hard time finding faith in the process. I am putting it in God's hands. Laying faith in God to guide me. I have failed to do it myself.

I can't. Only through the grace of God can I. Please... God. Guide me in these dark times.
