Is Jesus an easy out?

Wow, I had such a wonderful discussion just a few minutes ago with someone about Jesus.
Wow it was amazing. My heart is full. Thank you Jesus.

So I study a lot with apologetics so I'm well versed in answering those questions that many ask,
however I'm aware that I can't save anyone and that you can't argue anyone into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Which is why I love the discussion I just had. The guy was asking questions because he was truly seeking
and kept asking more questions not just to be difficult but because he really wanted to know the truth.
It was a beautiful discussion.

With that said, he asked a questions that I want to see how the community answers when asked.
He said, "Is Jesus just an easy out, if people know that they will be forgiven if they sin?"
I give him an answer that I'll share later but let me know how you respond when asked that question.

John 14:6 Jesus Christ is telling everyone that "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but by Me."

Since Romans tells us that Everyone Has sinned and , thus, are doomed to eternity in hell, but Jesus Christ has provided the Only way to stay Out of hell and be able to be in heaven for eternity.

The truth of the matter Is that Jesus Christ died on the cross / shed His blood / for us -- He died in our place with our sins and rose again bodily from the dead Because He was the Son of God.

When a person Does accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior -- the Holy Spirit comes to indwell them. They are , thus, kept safe, in Him, until that person is safely with Jesus Christ.

And , in that process, Because the Holy Spirit Is indwelling them, they Won't have the same desires as before. They are changed from within, They will have a New peace in their heart. That person is no longer a Slave to sin.

The Holy Spirit Does give us the power to say No to temptation. That doesn't mean we will always Say NO. But we Will have a guilty conscience when we Do yield to the temptation.

Accepting Jesus Christ as personal savior is Not an 'easy way out'. Reading / following God's Word is Not popular Or especially easy. Reading His Word is probably the easy part -- being willing to apply it can be the harder part. And That is why we need to have Christian fellowship at church / Bible study groups For encouragement from one another / God's Word shared.

The route I went was Romans 6 where Paul talks about "shall we continue in sin to that Grace abound, God forbid.." .
And I also talked about how repentance is not just lip service but a change of heart. So something saying I repent, is
not just a matter of words, but that turning away from sin and turning to God, to allow the Holy Spirit to do only what He can.
I also talked about how we love because He first loved us, and knowing that we are forgiving should encourage and empower us
to live the "good" life which as selfish sinners we never could.

I always go to one of the four gospels if I can, so anyone seeking Christ can see a portrait of him there.

Maybe look at the demands of the sermon on the mount? The narrow and wide gates, and houses built on rocks and sand.

Or Jesus's saying, whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

Sounds to me like your friend has a view of the gospel that is a free pass, rather than submission to Lord Jesus.

I Pray that you'll continue to have good conversations and that he'll see the light and respond.

Jesus Is NOT an easy out. As each person whom the Father draws to the Son that eventually gets the Baptism in the Holy Ghost must "work out their own
salvation with fear and trembling." Though Faith is the gift of God that allows us to believe unto initial salvation it still leaves one in the category of the
LEAST IN THE KINGDOM. The working out part is a seeking of those things written in the 7 letters to the 7 Churches in Revelation, so that the reward that
is offered for overcoming each issue is attained, thus moving one higher and higher within the Kingdom but at the same time making one the least among men because it will eventually cost you everything to attain unto them. And as expected in attaining to these ones nature is changed from carnal to spiritual day by day so that the fruits of the Spiritual child who is maturing in you displays those fruits.

While it is true that he died for the sins of the world so that no one pays the price for their own sins, there is still a PROCESS that each must go through.
Lets say that Jesus provided the WAY (OPENED THE DOOR) into the process but its required of us to complete it individually. As God shows us each step we move closer and closer to the goal that he has foreordained for each of us.

No, Jesus is not an easy out, but He is the only way out for those who desire righteousness and a sin free world. Those who continue in their sins till the last moment cannot be forgiven because they never truly repented in the first place. In fact their continuance in sin show that they never wanted to change, they just want to escape the consequences of their sin. If they are not punished they will simply continue in their evil after being forgiven and thus they cannot be forgiven by God. God will never allow people to escape the consequences of sin so they can continue doing the same evil over again.

A proper answer to this question needs to entail a correct understanding of what it takes to become a Christian.

If someone thinks simply calling Jesus Lord makes you a Christian, the entire bible has flown over your head. You are an absolute fool if you think God of the universe is a fool.

Nobody can become a Christian. God makes us Christians. The whomsoever is worthy, gets washed clean and grafted in.

Those who pass His judgement of heart and mind Jer 17:9-11. Those who are after His heart and draw near to Him James 4:6 by hating what is wicked and clinging to what is good Rom 12:9. IE those who truthfully repent Psalm 51:17.

God removes devils from His presence for all eternity and makes no mistake at that. Likewise God grafts saints in and makes no mistake at that.

A saint grafted into God's family will HATE sin and always desire repentance. A saint will NEVER continue in mortal sins. Paul NEVER continued murdering Christians.

When a true Christian sins, watch that space. What comes soon is jars and jars of honey from inside them to rectify wrongs and repent sincerely.

Jesus in us cannot be faked and Jesus is in us Col 1:27.

It sounds like you encounter one of the “elect of God” who was chosen before the foundation of the world. Prime example: Philip and The Ethiopian Eunuch. That is why we are to proclaim the gospel to every creature, because we do not know who the “elect of God” is. They are, I will say: good ground. And you pour a little water upon that seed or that spout that is springing up unto eternal life. That is why you experience a bit of “koinonia” did not our hearts burn as we commune on the Emmaus road.
