And what Exactly Are those 'right' questions that people are supposed To be asking.

@PloughBoy -- ref back to post 35 -- why Vain hope as per Hebrew 11;1 -- that's not meaning that 'we sure hope it's true' -- but the fact that That is our Trust / 'hope' in the future. That which is being looked forward To. And why bring in the book "Pilgrims' Progress" -- it Is a good book to read, but it's not Scripture.

The "right questions" are the questions God puts in your heart. That's the easy part, we all are being called in here.

The hard part is putting our egos aside, go through the fear, and trust and accept where God is leading us.

I'll determine where the questions are coming from.

Because, I love a good book, The Bible is number 1 book I like . And the old English copy of “Pilgrim Progress” is my 2 favourite . When you have read the autobiography of “John Bunyan” and how he wrote it and were he wrote it, in prison I think about 12 years because he was Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ without a license. A dark and cold dirty clothes wearing out. And the only thing he had to do to get out was, not preach the Gospel. Those man of old stood their ground. Martin Luther, John Hus, John Knox, John Wycliffe, the men on the Reformation Wall, in Geneva, George Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards, Those guys and women did not compromise. “Great Awakening”! What can I say
They are our brothers and sisters in Christ. And I like a good biography . Jesus biography is number 1. ❤️

Oh, you think we should follow are hearts, and our minds will follow. That is a strange path. Mmmm not let me think.❤️

Christ is formed in our hearts by Faith.

It's that understanding of Faith that is a stumbling block for you.

Oh, so that is what you believe. Now I can see why I sounds like a “peculiar “ person❤️ I do understand.

Ya it's Eph. 3:17.

But I don't discuss scripture with anyone until they have shown a correct understanding of how Faith is started and maintained.

Good luck to you!

Jesus Christ has always been -- as the Son of God -- a person believes in their heart that He Is the Son of God and confesses unto salvation. But He is not formed in our hearts by faith.

Faith comes by hearing the word of God.

I respectfully Disagree with you on that.

That wasn't my opinion, although I know by experience it happens that way, I was quoting Ephesians 3:17.

So your disagreement isn't with me , but once again, scripture.

Ephesians 3:17 "that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love," May Dwell in your hearts is Not the same as being Formed in your heart. That verse is saying 'dwell'.

That's where 33 years of being taught by a Dr. Of theology that owns the largest collection of Biblical manuscripts in private hands behind the Vatican comes in. "Exact translations"!

Did I share your misunderstanding of Rom. 10:17 with you?

I guess something has to be form before it can dwell. ❤️ Very interesting. Well said.

Jesus Christ is eternal -- He was not formed in anyone's heart. It's the love of Christ being talked about in the following verses.

Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

And I don't really care about anyone's 33 yrs.. of being taught by a Dr. of theology........ that does not make either of you experts. :)

And, I'm sure you have shared what you believe in 'my misunderstanding' of that passage.

He's not considered as an expert! He's considered to be an experts expert! A teacher's teacher!

Your welcome for the decades of exhaustive study and mining truths from God's word. His 55 years, and my 33.

Is this why Christ warns us what not to do with the pearls?

Oh, my goodness. No need to continue with This conversation.

The passage you're referring to is about pearls and swine. Since you're inferring that I'm a swine -- well -- who knows what other 'swine' you'll run across. (oink)

There are so many branches of theology, which field are you familiar with and art of biblical hermeneutics you prefer, and “canon of scripture” your will be referring too. And the school of thought of your instructor . And the university and field of theology and philosophy he of she has taught in, or tenure. Now this is getting good. For we do know that since the church fathers, Theology was the queen of all sciences and philosophy was her handmaiden. As John the Baptist said: “ I’m not even worthy to lace up His shoes” I like this. Breaking bread!❤️
