No, there has been many outspoken voices of people who call themselves christians, that to deny people abortions for any reason is evil, and they use emotion to emphasize and twist scripture about love and forgiveness to claim that anyone who is against abortion is anti-God. They dont care about verses that tell otherwise, they dont even recognize what science tells them about when life starts.

I have to agree most churches dont want to offend anyone, and dont even talk about sin or repentance.

The point I am making is that Christians' unity in Christ is primary over political allegiances.

As such the church - and Church leaders in particular - have an opportunity and responsibility to reach across the divisions in society and to provide unifying leadership.

I understand what you're saying, but political ideologies are very much how 'Christians' on both sides define themselves and understand the bible. There is no changing the way liberals and conservatives think. Christian conservatives have not changed their ideology a bit over the years. Liberals have been continually caved into the liberal media's dictates. Christian liberals accept the hypocritical lies and half truths the left driven media feeds them. The news in America (and the UK) is dominated by the liberals. The divide between Christian liberals and Christian conservatives is enormous and it's the liberals who are making the gap wider. They are the ones falling prey to accepting sinful behaviors and calling them good. They are the ones encouraging illegal immigration. They don't care that many immigrants are evil, gang infested men. They are the ones who take capital punishment out of the books yet they kill children in the womb. They are they ones who outlaw declawing a cat yet allow the abortion of 24 week old babies. They are the ones promoting LGBTQ behavior and pushing that agenda as much as they can in society and government. And then when those of us who know better disagree, we are called racist, bigots, Islamophobic, homophobic, etc - etc.

There is no reconciling the liberal and conservative mindset while the liberal media controls the minds of most people.

If Christians define themselves and their understanding of the Bible in terms of their political ideology, that's an appalling state of affairs. Surely we must start with allegiance to Christ, and discern what that means for our political stance second.

And of course there are ways of liberals and conservatives changing their thinking:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

If you were to replace the "word" political ideology with "morals", and dispense with the new concept of political ideology which is a word begun by politicians (which I HOPE you arent one... a politician), then perhaps you could begin to learn why many of those called conservatives are simply those who commonly hold on to morals that are found in scripture. God is NOT just a God of Love, to truly love, you must obey His ways, otherwise you will just LOVE evil as well.
