Joseph's story is a classic riches-to-rags-to-riches tale, but the most remarkable thing about him--his greatest trait--was that God was with him. That fact explains his survival and his successes--and the wise and compassionate character he consistently showed.

Is God the core of your daily routine? It takes discipline not to take God for granted, to seek Him when things are going well, not just when they aren't. Joseph's consistency made him a model employee--the best worker his bosses had, a conduit of God's blessings to them. It had nothing to do with Joseph's education or accomplishments but everything to do with his trust in God.

God is faithful even when you're not. That's not a guilt trip but a get-out-of-jail card--a gift that can't be earned, only received, and one that changes everything. And you can tell that you have received it, not because all the storms in your life suddenly cease, but because you suddenly have a remarkable sense of peace and freedom as you face them.
