When We Read the Word
The Word is written clearly and concisely. Punctuation in its place is vital to our understanding as well. I really don't need to tell you this because you learned it in school. I read a headline this morning on one of my news feeds. It read...
Chicago hospital gunman fired at least 30 times before killing himself
My immediate response was "Boy this guy was a really bad shot! It took at least thirty shots to kill himself! How could he miss so often?"
Then I decided that what the 'reporter' meant to say was "
Chicago hospital gunman fired at least 30 times, before killing himself.
Here's another...."Brother jailed over blaze possibly linked to New Jersey mansion deaths" I think it meant that the blaze was linked to the New Jersey deaths?" Or maybe if I were to put a comma after 'brother' and another after 'blaze' It would say "Brother, jailed over blaze, possibly linked to New Jersey deaths?" Hmmm...One way, it says a brother was jailed over a blaze that was linked to New Jersey deaths. The other says the Brother is linked to the New Jersey deaths. All this difference because of a couple small marks on a page! It turns out, in reading the article, that the second option is the right one.

The reason I'm posting this is....We need to read the Word AS IT IS WRITTEN. Not as we want it to read, or the way we are told to believe it. We need to go by what the Word says, not what we are told it says.
If I were to read the Word that way I could start a whole new doctrine…For instance; Peleg (pronounced Payleg) divided the continents. He changed what was called Pangea, a single land mass, to what we have now! What a man!! What does the Word say though? It says that in his days the Earth was divided…..Oh! That’s different! Peleg becomes a marker…He was alive at that time but he didn’t do the deed.
My point is…and I repeat….We must read the Word as it is written, paying attention to the punctuation as well…Jesus said himself that “not one jot or tittle shall pass away…” They must be important. Right?

Bendito, I would agree... We should read scripture as it is written. I realize some scriptures need explanations, and the scripture reference used should confirm the initial verse.

What does these verses say and what is the meaning?

1 Pe 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being "dead "to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Eph 2:5
Even when we "were" dead in sins, "God" quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved

What does God's written word say we are saved from by Grace? As it's written...

Rom 4:8
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord "will not" impute sin.

2 Cor 5:19
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Based on your post, I would like to know, "according to scripture references," what these scriptures mean? I know you have some good knowledge and you know what God's word says... so i'm asking you to be serious and give me some credible understanding.

Oh....You're tricky. Do I look like I'm the Holy Spirit? I think not. The verses mean what they say. And they say what they mean. Ask the Holy Spirit. HE'S our teacher.

Bendito, the body of Christ is supposed to build itself up through edification. I’m not trying to be tricky. If we can have a serious exchange of understanding the Spirit will reveal knowledge through it. If you have knowledge and understanding on the verses and choose not to share that’s not love. If you don’t have knowledge or understanding concerning those verses and choose not to ask or accept knowledge; that’s pride. I’m asking - if you have information that opposes what I’ve posted at least allow me the option to weigh it. If you don’t that’s fine. Listen, we are brothers in Christ regardless.

If we can have a serious exchange of understanding the Spirit will reveal knowledge through it. If you have knowledge and understanding on the verses and choose not to share that’s not love. If you don’t have knowledge or understanding concerning those verses and choose not to ask or accept knowledge; that’s pride. I've shared many many times with people on this forum. I love to share with people who want to learn. I love it when they share with me too, so I can learn...But there has to be some credibility to that person. Your uh style has blown all your credibility, in my mind, right out the window. I have no trust for you at all...so...no share...Build up some credibility and I will share with you. This is not a slap at you, its simply that I'm not a trusting person.

I've asked you to qualify your information when I first started talking to you and you didn't know then. As I said... I use this forum to exercise character. People didn't accept Jesus' knowledge and crucified Him on the cross - so I don't feel any particular way if a person doesn't reeived the knowledge I present. I'm good and peaceful with that.

I'm trying to build a bridge with you and compass it in union in Christ. I'm not trying to cause a divide. This is information we are learning from. You didn't write it and I didn't write it but we are encouraged to learn and share. It seems you get a little flustered. I'm saying it's not necessary to allow yourself to feel that way. We are striving for the same place.
