Gen 6:8 Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Heb 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Rom 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Ezr 9:8 And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Jud 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Jn 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Yes. I suspect all those verses tie into each other and their is a coded underlying message. If I even attempt to expound on the perceived main point; then the message would be diluted.

@Ivar,

These scriptures seem to allude to salvation from sin. A person must be saved from sin before they can have life which the law could not give. This is why Old Covenant believers could not have life; they were separated from God by sin. Jesus came bringing Grace which saves man from sin - opening the door to Everlasting life to them that are "willing" to believe.

Ephesians 2:5
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

A man can obey God, but a man cannot and could not save themselves from sin.

AFTER
Heb 13:9

Comes love thru obedience, respect and accountability, etc Php 4:13

For example since we in Ephesians Eph 5:18-28
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also Ecc 3:1-8
Even Wisdom said Pro 8:17 -21
----------------------------------------------------------

At some point God Permit we move on towards perfection. Heb 6:1 -3

Works thru faith is part of life. whether it be building shelters, charity, foraging for food, exercise, recreation, etc.

Even to breathe in Air which is free we have to exhale out Air.
----------------------------------------------------

There is such a thing as the Day of The Lord which is darkness and not light. And only those that found Grace with God such as Noah in his days will be left while others taken.
--------------

Observe the works of Abraham thru faith who found grace with the Heavenly father because of his obedience and why called a friend

Heb 11:8

Jas 2:22 -23

Joh 15:14-16

Grace gives believers the opportunity to learn to do everything God requires. As you've pointed out. We can learn to do works of love and if we love God we will build shelters for those that need it, etc.

@Bendito,
Is this the definition your looking for defining "Grace?"

"GRACE DEFINED"
G5485 χάρις [XA/RIS] {cháris} \khar'-ece\
from 5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude):--acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace(- ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank(-s, -worthy).

Romans 5:17
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

I was asking how the average Christian defines it.

@Bendito,
Both define mercy...This one and the one before.

Let me show you the difference.

@Bendito,
As "unmerited Divine favor" without the efforts of any human intervention.

In this explanation God is "giving" a person something without their efforts.

@Bendito,
God not giving those that are sinners what they truly deserve.

In this explanation God is "not giving" a person what they deserve.
