Should Believers Have a Consciousness of Sin?

@Bendito,
You obviously didn't study sin being taken out of the world by Jesus removing it.. Because you said Jesus didn't take sin out of the world.

Dan 9:24
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Without sin being taken out of the world, everlasting righteousness could not enter.

Of course you know that the 70 week prophesy has not been fulfilled yet.

@Bendito,
I do this because it helps me exercise in the meditation of God's word. If I'm continually chatting with someone, Satan comes to me emotionally, but that's the battle (Rom. 5;3-5). That is the joy of this fight because i know I win and I have power over him. I'm not feeling you or agruing with you, I'm battling Satan so he cannot take my peace from me as I communicate God's word. Satan doesn't want me to present. The more I exercise, the less Satan can cause me to feel his weapons of emotions. Again, God has given me the power over emotions and that's all that Satan has.

You have nothing on the Bibleguy, and He took me to "SCHOOL" for all kinds of refresher courses. Everlasting Righteousness has been brought in and that verse has been fulfilled.

Right. If you say so.

You cannot hang with the Bibleguy. At least He took it seriously and presented thought out answers that were based on scripture that make sense.
Make sense?! You preach that Jesus has taken sin out of the world! Make sense! Look around you sir! Sixty million babies aborted, murder, theft, rape, on and on and on. Sin runs rampant all over the world. Even in San Diego. Sin is not out of the world at all. The wicked witch Hillary, the baby raping Muslims, the baby eating bigwigs in DC. Don't tell me to talk sense! You are spouting absolute swill here and demand that we accept it.
As I said. Finish a complete study. Let the Holy Spirit teach you instead of getting your wisdom from the enemy. And stop patronizing everybody on this site.

You don't walk by faith that's why you are mentally seeing things after the flesh. the just shall live by faith. God calls those things which be not as though they were. If God said He took sin out of the world, I say the same. If God calls it "unfruitful works" that what I call it. This is by faith that I walk. I do not see things after the flesh. You sin because you think you are in the flesh and of the world mentally. I am not of the world.

Jesus did not say He took sin out of the world. He's going to take us out of this sinful world. It's because of sin in the world that it will be judged. You're stuck in a deep rut, my friend and you need to stand up so you can see your way out of it. Find out what the Word really says, instead of this demonic fantasy that is deception that you hang so tightly to.

Not only did Jesus take sin out of the world, but He cancelled it.

Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

G115 (put away)
athetēsis
From G114; cancellation (literally or figuratively): - disannulling, put away.

Not only did Jesus cancel sin, but He blotted it out.

Act 3:19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

G1813 (blot out)
exaleiphō
From G1537 and G218; to smear out, that is, obliterate (erase tears, figuratively pardon sin): - blot out, wipe away.

@Bendito,
Sin has already been judged.
Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Joh 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Satan has been cast out of the hearts of believers and condemned. Unbelievers are condemned as well. .

Well Bendito, it's been refreshing and fun but gota go. I'll get back to you tomorrow. Have a blessed rest of the evening. Thanks for allowing me to exercise. God Bless

Yes, Satan has been judged, but not banished. He will eventually be cast into the lake burning with fire forever. He is alive and very active today. Satan is still a master liar presenting all manner of sin temptations to every Christian. It's why Paul presented Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

There is absolutely no sane reason to ignore that manner of living today. I am trying to find who preached that Christians no longer need the Lord's armour, but like young David, reject what you don't usually rely on, but have success with whatever you are anointed with, as with David choosing his trusted slingshot. Well, that's absurd. It's very rare to hear folks basically claiming there is no sin, that Satan is gone. It's more common for Christians to believe there never was a literal Satan. Those are the ones who typically refuse to exercise faith to SPEAK TO the mountain and it be removed, choosing rather than to just pray about the mountain, then if it doesn't move, that's God's answer to your prayer. Well, Mark 11 says to open your mouth and speak to a situation. Don't stop speaking to Satan to leave. No conversations with him are wise. Just say "GO".

What you are saying seems like a blind person saying starlight has no twinkle just because they can't see that. For that matter he has no proof stars even exist, having to rely on what he is told.

Sin consciousness was acquired by Adam. He was created with a clean conscience, the same conscience we are told to purge regularly, to restore it to purity, and keep it that way, lest it become weakened and defiled again. First and Second Corinthians speaks much of the conscience. Adam's was defiled when he ate of the forbidden fruit, acquiring knowledge of good and evil without the benefit of the gospel of Christ to deliver him from fear. His first response to that knowledge was to hide and fear being naked. God had made and left him naked. So who told him to be concerned? Not God. Not Satan, for the Devil had already guided them to disobey the one law God had established.

Everyone has been born with a conscience of sin as well as a sense of good/right because of that fall. When we become a Christian that faculty remains, the effects magnified from reading the Law of Moses. That facuty can become ruined, thereby leaving a person insane with no awareness of sin. wrong, or worse... of right in the latter stages of a defiled conscience.

That condition is what we Westerners like to call "sin consciousness", which is a phrase not in the Greek testaments, but can be found in some commentaries and sermons. What is emphasized also is a warning not to bruise the weak conscience of anyone. That person can be a weak Christian lacking discipleship, highly offended and driven away not particularly by what we say or do, but what impression they took from us.

1 Corinthians 8:9-13 (KJV)
9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

What has Satan been cast out of

Predominately in your writtings, your perspective is from the mind and understanding of the “flesh.” You appear not to understand what faith is and how to think and walk by faith. When God told Adam, “in the “day” you eat of the tree, you will “surely” die. According to the way you write, you see Adam dying 930 years later. You see this in the flesh - as I see you understand everything else according to your writings. Faith is spiritually seeing Adam dying in the very day he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This is how faith sees life. You don’t see life this way by your writings.

You see your actions as sin because you see your person and position in the flesh. There is not sin in Christ, so this tells me you don't see yourself in Christ (1Joh. 3:5). You see your righteousness and unrighteousness according to the law. If you do well you are righteous. If you do wrong you sin; and all unrighteousness is sin in the flesh according to the law. Faith is not of the law - sin is of the law (Gal. 3:12). A believer is Righteous not because of what they do or don’t do in the flesh, they are Righteous because Jesus made them Righteous by faith. Not according to their works. Because you see yourself in the flesh, you don’t identify with these verses. "WHEN YOU WERE"

Rom 7:5 For when we WERE IN THE FLESH, the motions of SINS, which were BY THE LAW, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Rom 7:6 But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW,” that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

You see yourself as still in the flesh. Sin is the transgression of the law, which can only be committed when a person is “IN” the flesh and “under” the law. You don’t realize you have been delivered from the law. WHAT LAW? Whatever law that caused you to sin as you are in the flesh.

If you understood faith, you would not say you sin. If you understood faith, you would know that God sees Satan as judged and condemned. Is God using Satan for the purpose of testing His saints? Yes… Only God can allow Satan to tempt a believer. God allows temptation because it produces perfection (Jam. 1:7; Rom. 5:3).

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

In your writings, it seems you think "God is lying" because many Christians “kill” themselves. It seems to you, according to your writtings, this cannot be true. Those that committed suicide didn’t escape; they couldn’t bear it.

Your conversation weakens believers not strengthen their faith. Your writtings cause believers to see Law instead of Grace. Grace says, I've delievered you from sin because you could not deliver yourself. Faith is the substance of things “HOPE” for evidence of things not seen. Faith calls those things which are not as though they were. You say believers sin. That's how Israel saw themselves. Israel saw themselves according to the law this is how you see yourself.

YOU DON'T SPEAK ACORDING TO FAITH

for that Day shall not come, unless there come a falling away first,

for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first

That day won’t come unless the rebellion comes first

People will rebel against God

for unless there come a revolt first

That day of the Lord will not come until the turning away from God happens.

The one most clear is the Amp version

for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians]

So this apostasy is talking about Christians turning away from God. Not unbelievers....

Its my belief that many will fall away from the faith in Jesus Christ because of a misunderstanding of the Word.

for example;

1 Reading a single verse and basing your understanding on it..

2 Reading a verse or two and not considering the context, Who is speaking? To whom? About what? What is happening there?

With some verses you can find the context in the two or three verses before and after...With some verses you must go back two or three chapters to find the context.

3 Studying the Word intellectually instead of leaning on the Holy Spirit to teach.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (CJB)

14 Now the natural man does not receive the things from the Spirit of God — to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit.

We are to rightly divide the Word of Truth...2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. To divide the Word of Truth means to correctly 'disect and teach' the Word. Who is better than the author to teach you what is meant by His Words?
The Holy Spirit is the Author, and our teacher...Let's trust Him to teach us the way we want to go.

The accuser accuses us in the very throne room of God. That's in heaven. So you're right, Dovegiven. Satan has been judged. The judgment is banishment and the lake of fire. You're right again....His judgment has not yet been carried out. When a person studies the Word intellectually he ALWAYS misses out on the complete picture. He ALWAYS misses out on the whole truth. A Christian has to lean on the author of our faith in order to gain a real understanding of the Word. Some people do not know how or are unwilling to lean on the Holy Spirit though. I don't understand why..... Keep it up my friend.

Satan is not in Heaven, in the very throne room of God. These next verses have already happened and all power has been given unto Jesus Christ in Heaven and in Earth. Jesus not only cleansed man’s body and flesh from sin, but He also cleansed the Heavens with His blood. This is when Satan was cast out and judged.

Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into “Heaven” itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entered into the holy place every year with blood of others;

Luk 10:18 And Jesus said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto “YOU” power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused (past tense) them before our God day and night.

The spirits are subject unto all believers because all power has been given unto Jesus Christ in heaven and in earth. This is why God has given believers power over the devil. Satan cannot win and has been defeated in those that believe. Why, because he has been condemned.

It is distasteful to humiliate anyone, but must point out Rev. 12 is obviously a revelation of the future of the Church and of Israel. In fact, all of Revelation is yet to be seen carried out. Israel is not yet in flight, pursued by the antichrist, who obviously has not even been revealed. Plucking scriptures entirely out of context, especially declaring historical events not yet lived, is always a sign of false teaching.

The need to put on the armor of God is still quite evident.
