I vaguely remember something in the bible about prayer done in the form of a ritual being wrong. Especially if that ritual resembles witchcraft. Can anybody help me out on this one please?

I'm not all that familiar with the concept but I simply punched it into YouTube...Then I see all those 'religions' that practice it, and knowing what the religions are......I'll pass thank you. It does not look like a wise thing to get into.

Defined; Ritual Prayer is a method to receive invisible power from the Heavenly World to help solve problems and establish happiness. The Ritual Prayers of Happy Science are guided by various high spirits from the Spirit World.
What spirits do you expect would be there to guide you? Not the Holy Spirit. It talks of multiple spirits....

Living is killing us whatever we do. Is it what others do that we are to concern ourselves with or are we, ourselves, to draw nearer to God/Jesus that He draw nearer with us? Us humans are going to do what humans do and God will have mercy on whom He will. Let us give thanks to God whatever any other mere human does. His ways and thoughts are and His understanding is above ours.

What you likely have heard comes from this verse:

"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.? Matt 6:7

People may want to call the "vain repetitions" , rituals. But rituals in and of themselves are not usually evil. The "vain" part is the problem. Jesus clarifies it here:

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matt 12:36-37

Idle words are vain words. When we speak to God, we need to be speaking to Him... not simply mouthing some saying or even a prescribed prayer. Our relationship with Him should be personal even though He is God we are as nothing before Him. He loves us and wants to hear from us as we want to hear from our natural children.

As to witchcraft being involved, that does not always follow although the way some people speak it may become involved... because of rebellion against God.

"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king." I Sam 15:23
