When a sinner comes to Jesus confessing their sins, Jesus forgives, sanctifies and justifies them "from all" unrighteousness; making them free from all sin (1Cor. 6:11). "From" denoting separation (1Joh. 1:9); Rom. 6:18; 22). The past sinner is now righteous without sin and without the sin nature. Their heart has been circumcised from the sin nature by God cutting out the old heart; and giving the born again believer a new heart which is undefiled (Eze. 36:26; 1Pet. 3:4). God has imputed only the righteous nature unto a believer which is incapable of sin (2Cor. 5:21). Sin is enmity with God.
As a sinner receives this born again experience by faith, they must continue this walk in righteousness by faith. It is not how a believer sees themselves in the flesh that makes them righteous; but how God sees them. This is because God does not see the born again believer in the flesh. God has mercy on who He will have mercy and compassion on whom he will have compassion (Rom. 9:15). Many born again believer condemns themselves if they err. This is wrong and err in itself. A believer must see themselves through the eyes of faith believing they are righteous inspite of their actions. Those that say they sin condemn themselves; they do so by faith when they confess that they sin because sin is condemned (Rom. 8:3). Jesus has condemned sin forever (Rom. 8:3). A believer is not suppose to see themselves in the flesh; because they're in this fleshly body, but they are to see themselves in the spiritual body of Christ (1Joh. 3:5). Believers are to say and believe the things that God says, even if it doesn't appear logically sound to their natural mind (Rom. 4:17).
The natural mind does not understand the things of God until He reveals it to them in time. This is why God tells us to be patient (1Cor. 2: 14; Jam. 1:4). Though the born again believer is Righteous by faith, it is not in manifestation because the new born believer does not know how to walk in Righteousness and will make mistakes characteristically; this is why God's Grace is in place. Grace does not impute sin. Through Grace God calls all believers "Saints" by faith? A Saint is morally blameless and spiritually pure; this is how God sees His Church; without sin. Is this true and a fact naturally speaking? No! It is how God sees a believer by faith. Scripture says let God be true and every man a liar (Rom. 3:4; 4:17).
God knows a believer is not righteous in their works, but He sees who they are spiritually and potentially who they can be in Christ by faith. Does this make the new believer a sinner again because they've committed wrong actions? No! God does not see the believer in the sin nature. If a person is not in the sin nature how can he or she produce sin (Rom. 11:24)?The believer's new heart is not sinful and cannot become defiled but is continually righteous because Jesus Christ abides there and will never leave (Heb. 13:5; Eze. 36:26). This has nothing to do with the actions or works of the believer. This only has to do with God who imputed all man's sins unto His Son and imputes only Righteousness to all sinners that comes to believe (1Pet.2:24; 2Cor. 5:19).
As the believer continues their journey in Christ and the emotions they've experienced in the joy of the Lord begins to fade, the natural understanding of their common existence, begin to take over and they don't feel saved as they did initially. This is when Satan comes to steal the new believers peace and joy and their sense of righteousness. Instead of the believer feeling righteous, Satan brings emotional trials and tribulations for them to feel unrighteous. Satan knows a man thinks in most cases according to how they feel. These are the times the believer must know; "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (Pro. 23:7).

It is impossible that God would send His Son to die as a ransom for sin and allow His purchased possession to continue in the nature of sin He just bought them from (1Cor. 6:19, 20).
