There is only one law to obey in and with Jesus

We love, worship, and serve God when we shalt love each other but only He has, does, and will love us fully, no matter what us mere humans say to each other.

Words are meaningless without definition, so my little human mind defines love as wanting others to be happy and wanting them not to be hurt even if we have to make them unhappy to keep them from harm.

We are laying down our lives every minute everyday, will we waste our lives selfishly or will we lay down our lives for others that others will glorify Jesus by which He may provide us treasure here and hereafter?

There are actually 2 commandments whereby believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is required that He will supply us with His love so we can love and forgive others.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ....11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

You count on your obedience if you want. It is only Jesus' obedience on which I rely. The only humans in heaven will be we who accept full responsibility for our unworthiness. As Jesus said none good but God.

You are misunderstanding me and so hopefully Christ will help me to clarify my belief. I believe in Him because the Father drew me unto the Son ( John 6:44 KJV ) and revealed His son to me ( Matthew 11:25-27 KJV ) so I can believe in Him as my believing in Him is a work of God as well. ( John 3:18-21 )

I am citing that by believing in Him and of His love for me, I find His love in me that I can love others by, including my enemies. I am the work of His hands.

Doubts and lies will come the way of the believer to stop believing in Him and so one need to "obey" the gospel by looking to Him for help to continue to believe in Him.

Example is how that false science called the evolution theory which exists only in the realm of the imaginations per their hypothesis upon hypothesis, which can never be observed nor proven, is why many believers doubt the Bible and thus their faith in Jesus Christ for the reason they must look to Him for help to trust Him at His word over the ever changing words of that false science called the evolution theory as facts are rewritten as times goes on because they were never proven.

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Indeed, when confronted with dark supernatural forces, one can be overwhelmed in the face of seemingly frightening adversity that a believer may find himself or herself praying to Jesus Christ for help even with their unbelief.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

To be clear, I thank the Father in Jesus Christ's name & Jesus Christ that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Saviour as He helps me to also believe in Him as my Good Shepherd to help me to follow Him as His disciple and His friend to love others. By the grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ I am saved and by that same grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ, go I as I live this reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ.

Well... a believer's commitment, promise, oath, dedication, and any man made boast in the flesh always speaks of themselves;

A believer's faith speaks of where that faith is placed in. Some do put faith in themselves for which then, that "faith" is about themselves; BUT faith, confidence, trust, and hope in Jesus Christ is not about the believer, but about what the believer has towards Jesus Christ and therefore that faith, confidence, trust, and hope is about Jesus Christ and by sharing that "hope" in Christ, other snners may be converted to Him in having that hope in Jesus Christ as well..

Nice post and I agree with your thinking. But, Jesus is clear that there are two commandments Matt 22:40. 1 Love God, 2 Love others.

What we need to be crystal clear on is that loving others is the second commandment.

Again, if we love each other we are loving God who loves us. Love God is only accomplished by loving us humans as pitiful as we are. We would all like to think we could all do better but, judge as we will, we mere humans are giving it all we've got. Thanks be there is One: God/Jesus, who is more than us.

A believer is to deny his ability in his humanness to be able to follow Him, so that by relying on Him as their Good Shepherd in trusting Him to help them to follow Him,, then that faith is pleasing to God;

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God will have mercy, undeserved forgiveness, on who he wants. He alone is my hope not me or you or any other prideful human.

True, but it goes to point that humans must surrender their pride in their religious works and in their will power in order to rest in Him that they are saved by believing in Jesus Christ and that God had raised Him from the dead and by believing in Jesus Christ as their Good Shepherd to help them to abide and to follow Him in living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ as He will finish His work in us as well as the race to His glory and His crowning achievements in us..

@this human,
You stated: You count on your obedience if you want. It is only Jesus' obedience on which I rely. The only humans in heaven will be we who accept full responsibility for our unworthiness. As Jesus said none good but God.

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Joh 15:14 You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.

Are you saying believers should view themselves as unworthy and should not believe in their ability to be obedience to Jesus Christ's commands? Even after Jesus has told us He's given us the ability?

Should we not thank Jesus for giving us the ability to put on the whole amour of God that we can stand against the all trickery of the devil and cast down every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against God's knowledge? Do we have the command and ability to take upon ourselves the sheild of faith by which we can quench all the fiery darts of the devil?

Hasn't Jesus through the Spirit told us, we are more than conquerors?

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

2Co 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

This is our confidence that we can obey Jesus in everything He commands us to do.

If a believer boast of his ability to keep his commitment or promise to God in order to obey Him, then he is not talking about Him and His power at all for following Him when he is making a boast in the flesh by keeping the law to do it. All such witnesses are false witnesses. When a believer only speaks of his faith in Jesus Christ for helping him to follow Him, then He is only referring to His power of Him giving him the ability to follow Him as the just can only follow Him by faith in Him.

@JesusIs4Me,
A believer says Jesus has given them the ability to do His will, that believer is not boasting or glorying in themselves, but they are glorying in and boasting of The Lord and glorifying what The Lord has given them the power to do. This is what Paul is stating. Is Paul boasting in himself; in the flesh?

2 Corinthians 10:13
But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

Paul said he will boast according to the measure of what God has given him to distribute unto others. Paul was glorying in The Lord and tells all believers we can also glory in The Lord.

2 Corinthians 10:17
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

As long as the believer does not speak of his commitment or his promise to do His will, then he is being a true witness of Him in speaking of his faith in Him that He is empowering him to follow Him.

In Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous, addicts can choose their own higher power and by keeping a commitment to be sober, they may give the credit to their higher power but those not like-minded in regards to that higher power and under a similar commitment, will only give the credit to the one who kept his or her commitment and usually they are the ones rewarded with a coin or some other reward of achievement done on their part. This is what Jesus meant:

Matthew 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.....18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man:...

John 5:31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

John 7:8 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

John 3:28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. ...30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

2 Corinthians 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

2 Corinthians 3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Religious people live by keeping commitments and promises; but that is not how we obey Him; we obey Him by believing in Him as our Good Shepherd that He will help us to follow Him by the same grace of God we have been saved by. It is one or the other; a saved believer cannot do both because all the hearers will look to is who you are talking about; yourself by your commitment or Jesus Christ by your faith in Him. If you say both, all they will see is you by that commitment.

JesusIs4Me,
Paul spoke of his commitment to keeping God's commandments and doing God's will; is he glorying in himself? Paul understood a man will give account of his "own works." If a believer does not believe that God gave him power to do His will, that believer cannot do God's will and will die for the lack of faith. Because faith without works are dead. God holds the believer responsible for putting on righteousness. God holds the believer responsible to cast down imagination of the devil. God holds believers responsible to resist the devil because He gave them the power. If a believer just talks the talk and is not obedient to doing God's commandments, that believer does not love Jesus. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments (Jeh. 14:15; 21).

1 John 3:18
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Paul spoke of his commitment to keeping God's commandments and doing God's will; is he glorying in himself? .

I never read anything about Paul's "commitment" , but only that he relies on Him & His power to help him to serve Him. Indeed, he spoke against such boast in the flesh in getting to know Him & the power of His resurrection.

Philippians 3:1Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Feel free to correct me in what he is saying here if I am reading him wrong, but do avoid going to other scripture when this is opposing what you have posted, does it not?

@JesusIs4Me,
Paul spoke a lot of "I's" saying "I" keep under my body bringing it into subjection. Lest "I" have preached unto others "I" myself" should be a castaway (1Cor. 9:27). Paul also boasts on other men's accounts for the Corinthians good deeds of obedience to God's commands.

2 Corinthians 9:2, 3
For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which "I boast of you" to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many. Yet have I sent the brethren, lest "our boasting of you" should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, you may be ready:
