I gave myself to the Word in high school and fell away because of the NIV. My journey was fraught with doubt and hatred, mostly directed at myself. I have always known the world was sick, that, not-so-deep down, there is something fundamentally wrong with it. Last year, I discovered unequivocal proof of the existence of God, and since God is real, why would Jesus lie? He didn't, he doesn't. Jesus is the Son of God and he bought me with his blood and now I can spend eternity looking on the face of my creator, God the Father, and spend my life directed by his Holy Spirit. God is all that is good! Praise to the Everlasting! Praise to the Lord Jesus! Father, thank you for your goodness and your mercy. Glory and honor to God in the highest!

Do you recall what in the NIV caused you to fall away? Which bible or bibles are you learning from now?

It didn't offer any hope. It spoke of Jesus and God's love, man's wickedness and punishment, that there was no way to work to heaven, except to not sin, which you can't do. God blessed me with a thirst for the written word. If I can read it, I can understand it, and I read that NIV as much as possible. It's message was despair. The KJV Bible is the word of God. It's themes are similar, but it's message is radically different: hope, salvation, mercy, victory. Jesus is Lord, and he's SOOOOO COOL. Through him we have the hope of eternal salvation. The NIV uses the same words but denies Jesus, denies hope. It is evil. This passage seems appropriate:

Mark 13:20-23
[20]And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
[21]And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
[22]For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
[23]But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

God bless you all! I am grateful for your fellowship. Thank you.

Cool i was just curious about your thoughts because it is a sensitive topic
KJV is most accurate English translation because it is the only English translation from which the New Testament text is from the Antiochean text or manuscripts. All other texts come from the Alexandrian text.
Though i am guilty at comparing other English translations to the KJV, I never put them over it or consider them it's equal though.

May Heavenly Father bless you as well.
