Beyond the obvious, what is this site' s purpose? To clarify, let ne break down my question into 5 sub-questions.
(1) The site's Statement of Faith seems to be Pentecostal. Does the site hope for personal testimonies as well as a discussion of controversies involving ,modern charismatic manifestations and the biblical teaching on the gifts of the Spirit?
(2) Beyond that, is the site intended to encourage debate on controversial issues about biblical teaching and spiritual experience?
(3) Do the site's sponsors want scholarly discussion of theological, ethical, spiritual, and historical issues?
(4) Or is the site primarily intended as a means of spiritual support for evangelism and daily Christian living?
(5) Do the sponsors want the site to serve as a means of support for wannabe pastors, preachers, and Bible study leaders?
(6) What type of membership does the site hope to attract or avoid?

Yes amen!

Let's talk about Jesus, the King of kings is He,
The Lord of lords supreme, through all eternity.
The great I AM, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Door,
Let's talk about Jesus more and more.

OK, so both of you ducked my 6 questions. Many of the posted topics are biblically relevant, but don't directly relate to Jesus. So I'll just have to assume that controversial topics treated academically are therefore part of the desired focus of this site.

Know that your evasive and callous responses to my serious 6 questions will determine my tone and way of being on this site. I am a long-time theology professor and retired UMC pastor. As such, I was merely trying to determine what level of challenging material to present in my threads on this site.

1. Lighten up. I was being silly and that's why the :)
2. Your tone was already a tad course
3. Retired or not you should still be familiar with Walking In Love
4. Look Around and view the threads. There you can see what level you feel you are to post.
4A....what level of challenging material to present in my threads
on this site.
........Why not just post what would encourage or edify the body of Christ
5. Theology can be a good thing as long as it does not read into scriptures but takes away exactly what Scriptures are saying.
6. Why mad hermit anyway? I mean should you not be joyful hermit

Have a wonderful Day and Remember the Joy of the Lord is our strength and strife just brings offense and ushers in all sorts of evil.
Blessings in Christ

Beyond the obvious, what is this site' s purpose? To clarify, let ne break down my question into 5 sub-questions.

(1) The site's Statement of Faith seems to be Pentecostal. Does the site hope for personal testimonies as well as a discussion of controversies involving ,modern charismatic manifestations and the biblical teaching on the gifts of the Spirit?

The site is not pentecostal....it is Christian
Personal testimonies of the wonderful saving grace of the Lord and He has done in peoples lives are always welcome

(2) Beyond that, is the site intended to encourage debate on controversial issues about biblical teaching and spiritual experience?

Discussion is welcomed.
Debate often goes round in circles. This will lead to a thread being moderated.

(3) Do the site's sponsors want scholarly discussion of theological, ethical, spiritual, and historical issues?

These discussions happen and are welcomed if they uphold the Word.
I am not sure the word scholarly is correct......maybe spiritual, loving Jesus centred conversation is more appropriate. A beautiful inspired message can be posted by someone who is not necessarily academic or scholarly.

I am not sure what you are saying when you say sponsors.
There is our wonderful administrator Chad and a team of mods

(4) Or is the site primarily intended as a means of spiritual support for evangelism and daily Christian living?

Yes it can be and often is.....but take the word primarily out

(5) Do the sponsors want the site to serve as a means of support for wannabe pastors, preachers, and Bible study leaders?

The site wants to talk about Jesus, the Bible, Christianity, etc
If messages and threads help and assist someone in their studies.......Praise the Lord

(6) What type of membership does the site hope to attract or avoid?[/QUOTE]

All are welcome....and we pray all will be blessed by being here.
We pray that unsaved souls will be lead to Christ

Content that pushes or promotes false doctrine will be moderated and appropriate action taken.

Just spread the Gospel of Jesus. It's not a complicated thing to be honest. No reason to ask a list of questions like that really. Especially ridiculous questions such as " (5) Do the sponsors want the site to serve as a means of support for wannabe pastors, preachers, and Bible study leaders? " Comes off arrogant and insulting.

Thank you @Fragrant Grace for your clarification.
