what to do??

Dear Brother Dave.
I must ask. As you've read the succeeding postings by your Brothers in Christ Jesus. Was this the purpose and results that you expected in opening this thread?

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I think now that the thread is been edited if you look at all the post above this question you will see some great respectful answer's would you agree ??

Greetings,

thank you Dave.

of course the other posts I also supplied are a lot of rot, too.

Please forgive me for presenting anything for you to think about and to be horrified by.

One day you might see the non-sense that you mention being the attitude of some.

If you stop and think about it, the suggestions I put in that post were from Biblical examples.... it was more a backward way of saying, don't do that.
I thought you were sincerely asking for advice about how you (or anyone) would handle a matter in a man to man real person situation rather than a more specific situation here at TalkJesus. I shall remove my other posts if they are of no worth to you, also.

But thank you very much for your kind remarks,

Bless you ....><>

EDIT: Offending posts have been removed

thanks for removing the post Bear,

How do you properly biblical speaking handle a situation where you have a body of Christ that meets regular and discusses the word and yet one brothers doctrine does not line up with scripture, the entire body tries to show the dear brother his error in his way yet he does not see it.

Greetings @Dave M

Having read through most of this thread, may I just ask you to answer a question....it will just help with understanding and give clarity.

I ask with regard to your OP

Is your question generic or referring to a situation outside of Talk Jesus?

Or is it referring to a member here?
(Certainly B-A-C in subsequent posts seems to have picked it up as being forum based)

If your OP was referring to someone here......

Firstly, you need to consider is the person promoting or touting a false message to purposely mislead others as oppose to sharing a different viewpoint (which happens frequently.....tongues/ no tongues grace/works pre- rapture/post-rapture, etc etc)

If there is a different viewpoint on scripture then this can be a great way to actually look into scripture more deeply and be richly blessed in doing so.....a time of being open to the Lord revealing more of His wondrous truths.
Maybe that contentious viewpoint might even be revealed as just a different way of saying the same thing.

Please note promotion of false doctrine will not be tolerated at TJ......so if foe example, someone is preaching mormonism, JW, catholicism or some other cult.....then do report the post and the mods will deal with it.

If Dave your thread was to talk about someone here.......then ask the Lord to examine your heart and your true motives?

Brother Bears response may have been a bit out of the box and outlandish (I have only read one in full)

However, does it reveal what might be going on inside of us all at times....." I want to get rid of this member"

As a moderator.....I have often wished there was a big red ban button.....but Im thankful that theres not.....because I know at times of frustration, irritation and ignorance I would be very trigger happy. I thank the Lord for imparting His grace and love to my heart at those times or there might not be many people left!

So over the top as it may seem......here in cyberland casting a member out of Talk Jesus into darkest cyberspace might equate to a desire to......

Scruff them and throw them over the nearest highest cliff
Stone them

cut them asunder and do all with gnashing teeth and tearing clothes and if you really want to get scriptural you could even resort to sackcloth and ashes!

Praying this thread will move prayerfully and in love.....seeking hearts that are filled with love.....and Christlike ways of dealing with struggles both in real life and in cyberland.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

This is basic christian doctrine (not like osas stuff.) this is clear cut doctrine.

So how does the word say we are to handle this????

thanks
You pray for that brother, brother! Every man is at a different place of growth and learning...Does this man spend time in the Word? Does he spend time in prayer? Does he love the Lord? Its not our place to go after anyone unless we are asked by that person,or unless our Lord directs us to speak to the person about the problem. There are people who drive me up the proverbial wall whom, if I were to speak to them, I might hurt by speaking out of turn. What about you? Do you have the wisdom to speak to him? Do you know his heart? Pray for him, my dear friend, and let God handle it.

I look at my heart, condemningly....I'm glad you do not see what I see in me.....If you did you would probably never talk to me again....How often to we look at ourselves through the enemy's eyes, instead of through the eyes of LOVE? Even to look at ourselves through our own eyes is colored by the enemy's words. If we have such trouble seeing ourselves through Gods eyes, how much more difficult is it to see someone else through Gods eyes?

Hey Fran thanks for your loving kind caring message as always. I can assure I do not want to remove anyone here at TJ I love all even if do not agree with them. The question was a general sincere question which definatley was influenced by TJ but certainly not aimed at hurting anyone. Or worst yet a as nick alluded to was not done in any mean spirited way at all. I had no idea this would hit a sore spot with some.

I would like to thank everyone for some great replies, and just move on I reckon. And to brother Bear I got nothing but love for you even if I dont agree with you sometimes.

EDIT: Offending posts have been removed
I had not read your posts which were supposedly offensive before they were removed. This action and reaction without charity as per I Cor 13:4-7 is exactly why it is difficult or impossible to decide who needs to be rebuked and who needs to be corrected... or even removed from the fellowship [forum]. Who would qualify to take the necessary action? The moderators? Hmmm, any of us who have belong to more than one church or to more than one forum know that moderators come in all types and sizes... if you understand what I mean? I served as moderator once and soon came to the conclusion it was too hard to enforce rules which sometimes set me against some of my own beliefs.

All believers believe they are right, and few are willing to admit the possibility that they are wrong on their particular doctrines or beliefs. This is why there are thousands of churches today claiming to follow Christ based essentially on the same Bible.

Too many people are not led by the Holy Ghost all of the time. As a matter of fact probably most of them probably are not most of the time. Of course, some will be pointing their fingers at me now. Help us dear Lord!

Greetings @amadeus2

I believe that Br. Bear edited and removed his own posts and a couple of others contextually.

Yes I agree brother amadeus.
The moderator team is no better than anyone else on the forum.
The position doesnt mean we are better Christians nor that we are more qualified.

We do have the ability to edit, delete, ban etc.
Please pray for us that we all use this position properly and for the Lords leading to prevail at all times. Please pray for humility and all pride to be removed.

Much of the moderating 'duties' are done behind the scenes in filtering out a lot of pretty horrible filth

Often it is easy to write quickly here out of feeling rather than carefully after prayerful reflection.

I believe anything inspired by the Lord will be given in love and tenderness even if it is a firm rebuke.

The same I believe should be the case when dealing with someone stuck in a false doctrine, to get back to the OP @Dave M. Debating and arguing will cause more contention. A scriptural word spoken in love after seeking the Lords guidance will surely be a blessing and reveal the truth.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Colossians 3:14-17

Titus 3:9-11
But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

2 Timothy 2:23
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.

2 Timothy 2:14
Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.

2 Timothy 2:16
But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,

We are all friends here on this forum... we get to know one another quite well.. That being said...When I say something...before you take offense at me...why not take a look at me and ask yourself..."Is that the kind of person Bendito is? What does he usually share?...Is he a gentle person or does he like to swing a club at everybody?...Mr Bear...the name gives the impression of a gruff growly grizzly but is in fact a loving teddy bear. He never shoots at anyone to hurt them...Dave M...He seems to like facts and is pretty good at backing up his opinions with scripture...He hides it most of the time but is quite sensitive...he feels things strongly. Amadeus is an old fashioned Christian...he stands strong on the doctrines he's learned all his life and is not opposed to learning more He likes to keep a grip on where he is standing until he has a firm footing on his next position...Fragrant Grace...gentle senstive loving, heart of a momma lion and no fear of speaking straight up. At Peace....A man who is in love with God and loves the scripture, but he's locked into legalism and misses a lot. Believes its important to walk a sinless life, and is correct but is still learning...His diplomatic skills are weak but his honesty outweighs that...
Each of us is different and each of us must make allowance for the other. Remember....The quickest way to become braindead is to take offense.... Ok. I may have missed on the analysis for some mentioned above but you see what I mean. I hope.

Yes such wisdom in the Word......thank you for sharing those verses @Dave M

Perhaps forum based that would equate to not getting caught up in a futile debate and argument with someone who is not upholding the truth.....not adding fuel to the fire for want of a better expression.

All said that doesnt take love out of the equation...remembering the grace that saved us when we too were once lost

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
