Calvinism
the doctrines and teachings of Calvin or his followers, emphasizing predestination, the sovereignty of God, the supreme authority of the Scriptures, and the irresistibility of grace.

Arminianism
the doctrinal teachings of Jacobus Arminius or his followers, especially the doctrine that Christ died for all people and not only for the elect.
Arminianism is not following the teachings of Jacobus Arminius. As though we are either Calvinistic or Arminian type Christians. Jacob was tasked with arguing against Calvinism. He concluded that God was 100% impartial. As we all should. Not even 1% of partiality with God according to 1 John 1:5.

I may be mistaken but ,as for what I wrote, it appears that you took out of context to support your own belief and not commenting on what I said about the subject:
  • " I repented and ask God to come into my life. Ever-sense, I have had this unquenchable thirst for God knowledge and have been reading and studying the Bible. For years I have come across this argument between predestination, free will and grace. People can call me or put me into what ever category they please, I am only concerned what God thinks of me. I don't really know what group I belong in because I firmly think in God's realm, predestination, free will and grace all fit nicely together and someday soon we will all know how".
  • No offense to you please but, perhaps you should contact Wikipedia and straighten them out on Arminianism!

Foreknowledge is different from predestination. I don't doubt that God knows what we call the future. Time may not exist for Him,
but it does for us. Just because He knows the future doesn't mean we can claim to do the same.

But even though God knows the future.. (those whom He foreknew) He wasn't the one who made the decision for them.

Those who he foreknew... He "predestined" to become conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

He didn't make you choose to be saved, but now that you are saved... it's predestined that you should become like Christ.

I didn't choose for you to date my daughter, but if you don't have her home on time, and unharmed, it's predestined you
will face my wrath.

The word "elect" is also often mis-used. Here in the United States we have "elections" from time to time.
The presidential election are in November. Then we "vote" or "decide" who the president will be. It's usually
known that day, or at least a day or two after the elections, who got "elected". Once they are "elected". They are called
the "elect". Donald Trump was the president "elect" for a couple of months. But He wasn't the president yet.
He remained the president "elect" until He was officially sworn into office in February three and a half months later.

The fact that you are an "elect" doesn't mean it's a "done deal". It's possible a president elect could die before taking office.
It hasn't happened yet, but it could.

It isn't that he just knew us before time began, but it is that he chose us specifically to be the people he designed us to be.

If I may, and if you have a thought on it, just exactly how did God determine who he predestine and who he wouldn't?

No one knows the answer to that but God. But, he did give me another devotion to write on this subject. If you are interested:
For His Praise

I do believe we've gone as far as we can go, without actually getting into open combat ;)

I'll lock this thread for awhile, and maybe a break will do us all some good!
Keeping us in humility and love for each other as brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
