Great Secrets And Revelation Of The Cross.

Active
Good morning my Forum Friends. I'm about to post a new thread on the Cross of Jesus Christ and the death that happened on that old cross. So many folk read about the cross and don't realize the impact of death that it represents.

A theological partner & much favored of our Lord has teamed up with me on this thread. His name is Soul man and he and I have already posted this on another Christian Forum. I sought the permission of Administrator Chad to post this thread here, and got it. My thanks to Chad for allowing this critical Truth of the cross and how it effects our daily walk.

Hello all my wonderful Forum Friends. Soul man and I have teamed up to bring to your spiritual understanding some new and refreshing revelation from the Spirit of Almighty God concerning the original purpose of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How did this happen? I'm glad you asked....Recently, Soul man made this statement...."I don't think we will see how deep the cross runs until eternity sets in." He said, "How deep the cross runs." Almost immediately. I believe that the Spirit of our living Lord impressed my heart/mind that He had revelation to share with Soul man and me, to set about an in depth fellowship of study into the depths of the cross of Jesus.

Purpose? To increase our knowledge of death to our old nature that rules our lives instead of the death of the cross which should rule over our new nature in Christ Jesus.

Hoped Results? That each one of us, by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, will guide us thru revelation truths, this will happen if....Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Dr. Kenneth Wuest said "The new life is a Person within a person, living out His life in that person." Which means, Jesus within us, living out His life in us. How can this happen? Only if the death of the cross destroys our our old man, or our old pattern of living.

To start off our (Soul man & my) thread, I'll post a beginning statement from my very good friend Soul man.

Gal 2:20, is keystone to our understanding, Death to The old man.
John 12:24, 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Jesus is talking about bringing forth more fruit (the birthing) by the cross.

We know from Old Testament that there needed to be an Atonement for sin and a reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19,
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Romans 6:6, 11 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We have been crucified with Christ, the old man is dead as Jesus was on the cross. The believer now needs to have a 'reckoning take place in their walk with God.
The cross is a completely finished work of God for mankind, a knowing needs to happen, a soul-mind principle.
Many Folks can not see what Jesus did to the old man on the cross, and know little about their salvation. Hence the arguments we see, about losing or keeping their salvation.

This is just the start of this thread by Soul Man and me. The next segment will be statements from me (Chopper) on some of what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me....Soul man and I have a lot to teach in this thread, therefore it will be a long and involved thread with many segments.

May our Lord Jesus Christ bless your mind and understanding, may our Holy Spirit give you ears to hear what He teaches us all.

STAY TUNED!!

Alive In Jesus,
Chopper

Well well, no one has responded to this thread as yet. Lets see if my first segment will interest you all....

Hi Forum folks. Well it's time for the old man to post a few thoughts on the death projection of the cross of Christ Jesus. I just love working with my Master Theologian Soul man. He has found a warm and tender place in my heart, by the Holy Spirit, that I've never had before. I've always been a "Lone Wolf", not any more. I fully expect God to work miracles thru the two of us as we discover new undiscovered Truths in the Word of God, and great faith & power as we two agree in prayer for the hurting.

Here's my first Truth that I see that the cross of Jesus projects....The Lord Jesus Christ came to die—not to live, not to teach, not to work miracles—he came to die. It was the purpose of His birth and the purpose of His life to die, because He came to deal with sin." Along the way, Jesus did live 331/2 years, and He taught, and worked miracles. But the main purpose of His incarnation was to die so we could live.

O my dear friends. Just study and meditate on the following, and it'll change your life as it's changed mine and Soul man's....Christ’s cross is my cross. Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

There's a story about an evangelist named Soul man. He was preaching to a crowd of people gathered at a big park. He had prepared a live size cardboard likeness of the Jewish Jesus, not a California Beach Dude. He was hidden behind the cardboard likeness, telling the crowd all about Jesus life, death and resurrection. The forgiveness of sins was his main topic. Remember now, Soul man is behind the likeness Jesus.

That's the way it is today. "I am crucified with Christ" In other words, the Evangelist Soul man was behind Jesus when He died on the cross. you couldn't see Soul man, all we can see is Jesus. Soul man and me were crucified with Jesus along with you folk who are reading this.

I agree to share death with Christ through the cross to everything which is opposed to the Father’s will, that everything of the Father’s purpose may be accomplished in us. When we take up that attitude I find the real old us has died with Jesus and He living in us.

Because we have been crucified with Christ, we are dead to everything of the world and alive only to God. The Truth? We are the living dead. The next time that lustful flesh wants you to do something that God is against, remember to say NO, I'm dead to that desire of the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. It does work!!

I agree with this, but He also came for another equally important reason.

John 18:37; Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

Jesus Himself gives the reason He was born.

@Chopper
And our fruits are where, if not in us to be manifested through our very mortal bodies? ... But there is something in us that is not mortal, because it has not been corrupted as we [the old man] have been corrupted. This new man is, as the OP indicated, Jesus within us. So often people do not see Him in us because we have been or are quenching the Spirit that God placed in us. The Apostle Paul admonished us NOT to quench the Spirit, because that man of God knew that without that Spirit, that corrupted old man had no hope. We were born to our carnal mother's without hope, but because of Jesus, there was a always a glimmer, a tiny spark which could be fanned by the Holy Spirit in a bright Light which would blind the careless but encourage the ones who were truly hungry and thirsty for righteousness of God.

What God has written to us in the Bible is hidden to those who are blind, but why is it necessary for anyone to remain blind? It is not. The secret is...?

We are three part beings...spirit, soul and body. Many people operate on just soul and body or just body. To be truly alive we must walk in spirit.

This is my next segment....

2Corinthians 4:10 "Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
4:11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh." (KJV)

2Corinthians 4:10 "always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.
4:11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh." (ESV)

The suffering of the cross, the suffering of Calvary, you and I need to enter into a fellowship with Christ in his sufferings....Death requires to be wrought in us in a real death fellowship. A strange fellowship right? We think of fellowship as a happy thing, not a suffering thing....Again, Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I wonder how many folk who "go forward" in, lets say, in a Billy Graham Crusade, would they still go forward if they knew that Salvation includes a cross of suffering of their own?

To go along with Luke 9:23, I feel the following verse has merit.

2Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."....

A new creature or as the ESV says, "creation". 4:11 says "always delivered unto death (Old things)....that the life (New things) of Jesus might be made manifest (would appear). In order for my new creation (nature) or new man to appear, my old creation (nature) must pass away thru the death of the cross.

My next segment will be on....Calvary and Pentecost are inseparable. Calvary always sends a man on to Pentecost; Pentecost is always sending a man back to Calvary....You never can know the power of Pentecost unless the power of the cross is working in you!!

Yea I always wondered about people that go forward in those crusades. Billy graham didnt say anything about baptism, apparently.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors [obligated], not to the flesh [corrupt nature], to live after [according to] the flesh [corrupt nature]. For if ye live after [according to] the flesh [corrupt nature], ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit [incorruptible nature] do mortify [put to death] the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (Romans 8:12-13)

Yea I always wondered about people that go forward in those crusades. Billy graham didnt say anything about baptism, apparently.

I am not so sure about this, from what I have read all the people that go forward at a BG sermon are followed up with and kept in touch with to see there progress with a local ministry support system that is set up before BG even starts the events at the town. I would have to imagine that some encouragement for baptism is initiated in these follow ups. And I know BG supports a public declaration of baptism so just because he did not have the resources at his event to do the water babtsim does not mean he did not mention it, I bet I can find a video of him saying it is important.

Hmm ok just wondering if he actually mentioned it, cos it sems like he didnt. It sems to me that many people just fell through the gaps or didnt hear that part and thought they could be christians by just putting their hand up or walking forward at a crusade.

This happned to someone I know, to this day I dont really know if she ever fully repented because her behaviour is like a baby christian years later. I wasnt even born when BG had all those crusade things but people sometimes attribute their salvation to Billy graham and not Jesus.

They go to church, but they just dont have the holy spirit inside...I mean it seems like they arent sealed (ie with His name on their foreheads) and are always having doubts about their salvation.

That is very true my friend. The Apostle Paul sure had a lot to say about the flesh vs the Spirit. Romans seven with Paul's back and forth life, flesh/spirit and flesh/spirit sure did frustrate him until he said....

Romans 7:24 "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
Rom 7:25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."

Love You,

Yes this is it, Christ in you...I have this hope of glory!:

I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God,the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to his saints,to whom God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.…
