When Jesus said "blessed are the poor", it was because they were poor that they were blessed, but that they didn't have to be poor anymore!!!
Sorry, forgot to put a "word" in this statement.

When Jesus said "blessed are the poor", it was NOT because they were poor that they were blessed, but that they didn't have to be poor anymore!!! :)

THen why did Jesus say the poor will always be with us
People do die!!! The curse of the law is still here, and the only way to get out from under it is through the blood of Jesus Christ who redeemed us from it!!!

Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

The poor is rich in faith; doesn't sound like a curse, but yeah, a blessing.

When God blessed us, He freely hands it to us. It didn't cost a bank roll; but obedience to God. Amen.

God pouts it in the heart's of men to freely hand to us; what? We believe we should have it already and God isn't moving fast enough? Let us go but for ourselves, bless ourselves and hope we can manager the payment.

The two witnesses come in sackcloth and ashes...not in a rich man's clothing; but verily dressed in rags and dirty.

Read Deuteronomy chapter 28, and then tell me being poor is not a curse. If the poor are rich in faith, then that faith is so they don't have to be poor anymore.
Thinking being filthy rich as being a Godly person, and thinking being poor is a blessing from God is a deception from the pit of Hell.

Luke 6:

Then Jesus looked up at his disciples and said:

‘Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
‘Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you will be filled.
‘Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
‘Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. 23 Rejoice on that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.

‘But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation.
‘Woe to you who are full now,
for you will be hungry.
‘Woe to you who are laughing now,
for you will mourn and weep.

Question: Is there any poor persons in the Kingdom of God? Why not?

Hey Curt why dont you define what you mean when you say poor
To be Poor is to be a "beggar"

pto-khyoo'-o
From G4434; to be a beggar,

If being "poor" is such a "blessing" then every single person in the Kingdom of God through out eternity will be beggars. Dose that sound like fun?

I think we have hit the nail on the head, I would never consider being poor makes you a beggar, I am glad we cleared this up. we have different definitions of poor.

I had a feeling that was the case

Look at it!
How blessed are you poor
For the kingdom of God is yours

How blessed are you that are hungry
for you shall be filled

How blessed are you who are crying now
for you shall laugh...

What is the trend here? Hungry- filled
Crying (mourning) - laughter
Poor- stay poor Its a wonderful thing? Really? Blessed are the poor because all the riches of Gods kingdom are yours.....Come on guys...Don't put words into Gods mouth

When one has nothing but God; there is no cost to measure.
When one has nothing but God; gratitude, thanksgiving are abundant, and much praise and glory to God is heard in heaven.

God provides all our needs. What I may want, may not be what I need. If we settle for this world, we have are reward.
All praise glory and honor be unto God Amen

The Word is no liar; and we can not twist it to justify self. God knows our heart.
I have been with very little money, and I have been blessed to have money. I can promise all of the readers, having money is better than having none!
The secret is to not allow money to have us.

Next, if one's faith is to be without money all their life, God will honor their faith. But if one's faith is that they will be well supplied, God will also honor their faith. Indeed, as was pointed out here in Deut. 28, being sick and poor (without necessities) is part of the CURSE.

That is why I talk to my check book, and talk to my wallet, and call them FULL of money. For many years I have expected God to full them, and He always does.

But as food for thought along with your questions remember these words:

"...Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world." John 8:23

"...My kingdom is not of this world..." John 18:36

In the end of the matter how important to God are our material riches in this world?

Is not this world coming to an end?

When this world is gone what will be left? What will we have?

Brother, remember Jesus had no yet died, and risen from the dead, so we were at that time part of the world, but Jesus in his prayer to his Father spoke his faith, and declared that we to are not of this world, or of it!!!

John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Our "stuff" which is only temporary is nothing, and that it will perish with its using. Although these things are temporary, we still need them to live, and to accomplish the will of God.
Don't forget this world will be destroyed by fire, and God will once again renew it, and it will last forever, as this will be the place of his Heavenly city.

No we do not need stuff to live a spiritual life, we need only God.

God supplies all we need.

Our own flesh lust after stuff in this world. He said to deny the flesh and follow Him.

Can you live without food?, or clothing?, or money? (this is stuff) I don't think so. Where are you supposing to get these things from? How does God provide these things? They just don't fall down out of the sky!!! You have not because you ask not, and if you don't know the will of God contained in his promises you are not going to get anything.

Are you saying the Lord God gives us everything we need for "life, and "godliness" as being from the flesh, as he is the one who gives them to us?

2Pe 1:3 seeing that His divine power has given us all things that are needful for life and godliness, through our knowledge of Him who has appealed to us by His own glorious perfections.

Labor not for meat that parish, but for the meat that leads to everlasting life.

Yes, God is able to provide all our needs, food, money...stuff; just as He dropped honey in the path to feed them, so is He able today, if one is able to believe.

Look at the bird's...are we not more valuable than a bird? God provides for all His creation.
Many times He has handed me money, from no man's hand.
Many times He has fed me carnal food, from no man's hand.
And now He has provided a very nice home, with utilities paid. I live here. I study here. I pray here. It cost me no worldly means, but to serve my God. He has and will always meet all my/our needs.
