He Freely Gives

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

If this is not a promise in form, it is in fact. Indeed, it is more than one promise, it is a conglomerate of promises. It is a mass of rubies, and emeralds, and diamonds, with a nugget of gold for their setting. It is a question which can never be answered so as to cause us any anxiety of heart. What can the Lord deny us after giving us Jesus? If we need all things in heaven and earth, He will grant them to us: for if there had been a limit anywhere, He would have kept back His own Son.

What do I want today? I have only to ask for it. I may seek earnestly, but not as if I had to use pressure and extort an unwilling gift from the Lord’s hand; for He will give freely. Of His own He gave us His own Son. Certainly no one would have proposed such a gift to Him. No one would have ventured to ask for it. It would have been too presumptuous. He freely gave His Only-begotten, and, O my soul, canst thou not trust thy heavenly Father to give thee anything, to give thee everything? Thy poor prayer would have no force with Omnipotence if force were needed; but His love, like a spring, rises of itself and overflows for the supply of all thy needs.

Like a living spring, welling up inside.
John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
"Oh, God, please loosen these earthly ties that bind us to this flesh and quench our thirst with you promise of living waters", Amen!

When we walk in the Spirit, we find favor with God and His abundance is consuming.

Just because one appear to be alone... I am not alone. Amen

If we need all things in heaven and earth, He will grant them to us:

A very good statement here by Spurgeon, but people always need to be aware of his use the word "need" rather than "want" in the above excerpt. God always knows exactly what we need. Many times, even believers, do not know what is really needed and end up being frustrated and even angry with God because He did not give them what they thought they needed.

Glad you saw that as well. Man has always confused the two or believe that they are the same.

To me it was made even clearer when Spurgeon used the Sacrifice of our Lord as the example of denying us nothing. To those who don't believe it easily includes "wants", while to the believer it signifies "need". For we understand that without it there is no reconciliation which fulfills the greatest need we have. Which is our being separated from our Creator, Lord God Almighty!

I'm sure you would agree that all our other needs pale in comparison dear brother to one given to us already. Without asking even!!!!! Alleluia!

Love you brother. As always you are a joy!

As we approach the Lord more closely in our walk, perhaps our wants should start to become our needs as God sees them. I must say honestly however that at this point in time I still have wants that I am fairly certain are not needs.

Our wants should line up, eventually, with our needs.

I WANT more of Him and less of me. I believe God also wants this need for me.

I WANT to LIVE! I believe God also wants this need for me.

I WANT...more of the spiritual needs, than I WANT carnal needs. God knows we have need of these things, and He is able to give to us all what we need.

Have we seeked the kingdom of God first? Is our love for Him genuine? or are we hoping for carnal needs of blessing, rather than spiritual needs of blessing?

God knows the intentions of the heart. Amen. Am I self seeking? Or God seeking?

All praise, glory and honor be unto God.
