I've also come to find out that in the asking too often His will is not part of the asking or plea if you will. As if we can achieve some benefit by receiving something that is outside of it! I always think of our Lord in the garden of Gethsemane when He said "...nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
Thanks for sharing brother.
Blessings to you as well.
Well, ,that seems to be the stumbling Block then. Asking according to His Will, but folks get hung up on His Will Part.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that,
if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that
we have the petitions that we desired of him.
(1Jn 5:14-15)
God never designed prayer to fail. Never Designed Prayer to be a yes, No, Maybe. God designed Prayer to be yes, every single time, and not a yes by some unseen and mysterious blessing we just won't know about until we get to Heaven. It was "YES" according to Our Petitions. According to HIS WILL!!
Now God is never late. You won't get to Heaven and someone hand you money for the Power bill you prayed about long after the power was shut off, turned on and years later you died. Some folks think some prayers only get answered in Heaven, but we don't need prayers answered at that point as all things are ours and we can walk in the Throne room at any time.
In the Garden, Jesus said "All things are possible, if it be thy will, take this cup from me."
Now to me that is the greatest show of faith Jesus ever prayed. He certainly was not confused about the Will of God, but the reason he said All things are possible is because for God to answer that one, the Eternal and true would that spoke of Him would have to be changed and still be true. The Eternal Word of God never changes, and to answer that prayer which Jesus knew it was possible, the events that took place as Jesus was written about in the Word would have to change in time and the Word still be true. Think about what Jesus was asking here.
Asking if it be thy will prayer:
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying,
Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
(Luk 5:12)
Luke being a doctor says this man was full of leprosy. Must have been covered with the stuff. He found the Lord saying, Lord, if it be your will, you can heal me. You can do all things Lord, if only it be your will.
Sounds like lots of praying today.
Awesome stuff Brother. Thank you for sharing. You got that right, we need to find out the Lord's will before even praying for something. Most the time we don't need to ask for something, we need to get wisdom on what to do instead. I have waited and waited on things until I humbled myself and asked what to do Lord.
