And while not to say not a legitimate hypothesis, yet it doesn't seem to hold up when examined in the duality of God's singularity as referenced in John 3:12. Thus as written in 1 Thess 5:21, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." Since we are to worship God in spirit and truth, we might be justified by faith, but justified isn't being sanctified.

Hi Byfaith,

Though I am not a fan of the Modern Trinity Doctrine, and not a big fan of a whole lot of things Rome believes, I understand folks do believe in some version or concept of Trinity/Oneness. Whatever the case there should be no division over it.

I am most definitely against Oneness and Modalism.

Maybe I am missing something here. But, how can you be against Oneness, but also say there should be no division over it? Just curious.

Actually helping and working with a Pastor in a Apostolic Church, just because I speak in tongues, believe in healing like the Pastor did, I did not buy into a lot of his doctrine. The Oneness doctrine was one of those doctrines along with a few others, "Like you can't be saved if you don't speak in tongues."

However, I knew what the deal was and to be a help, you can't be a hindrance so it's possible to be a help, even if you don't care for a lot of the doctrine.

I say no division because the Apostolic faith takes their Oneness very seriously and are very quick to point out anything that even smells like Trinity. Folks that believe in Trinity mostly don't even know what it is they believe, and it's normally not fully what is written in the modern document. Most don't even realize the big battle over the original and the Modern version anyway as there are Trinity purist still.

I am against Oneness because it's so unscriptural from the very start. At least the Modern Trinity says there are 3 before they get to the mystery part. Since Trinity is honest and clams it's a mystery and that is part of the doctrine not to be explained by scriptures, then I can't fault a doctrine that never claimed to be scriptural and claimed to be a mystery.

Whatever the case, there should be no division over these doctrines.

When we talk about God we are talking about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You can not have one without the others, for they are one. The Holy Spirit has always been active in all God does, not matter what it would be.He was active in creating the earth, and all things visible and invisible. He was part of bringing Jesus Christ in his incarnation into this earth. He was also active at work in Jesus earthly ministry. The Word that became flesh which is the Son of God. God the Father reconciling the world unto himself in Christ, and Holy Spirit giving life, guidance, comfort, and destroying every yoke upon those who were in bondage by his anointing. All of the Godhead working together to bring about mans salvation.

The Holy Spirit is also the only one who knows the "thoughts of God". If we are filled with the Holy Spirit we are filled with the thoughts of God!!! I pretty much think that is very cool!!!

1Co 2:11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1Co 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
