I see there is a thread very similar but I wanted to see how my view on this is seen. So Thank YOU for your replies.

Hello Every one,
There seems to always be this debate over things such as sickness and healing and God is or is not in Control of Everything. Why does bad things happen to good people and God uses sickness and suffering to teach us things or God uses the devil or allows the devil to attack a Christian to instruct them and such. Well in this post I intend to shed some LIGHT and TRUTH concerning all these statements. So if you have Ears To Hear.....Let Them Hear

To start with I want to ask is God really in control of everything here in this earth ? To say God is in total control of everything one must say He is in Control of you and me. So if He is in control of you then when you lost your temper and told off the driver that cut you off was The Will Of God because God is in Control......How about the murdering rapist on the lose, if God is in control then this man is doing what God wills and so why get upset or try to capture him to be punished. Wouldn't this be going against God's will ?

There is a lot of evil lose in this world. Is God really in control of this ? Lots of people are dying from sicknesses, so then is this Gods will for them? People say you never know what God is going to do. We do not understand why God does things but he put this sickness on me to humble me and teach me something...No friends...the devil is trying to kill, steal and destroy you and keep you from ever walking in the Blessing of God. We chose and allow this to happen.........Now then lets see what the written word of God has to say about these things........

Lets first look in Deuteronomy 30:10-20 KJV
10.....is telling us if we will keep His commandments and walk in His ways and turn to or trust in the Lord thy God with all of your heart and soul.
11-13...is stating that this commandment which He is giving us this day is NOT hidden from thee, nor do you have to go up to heaven to bring it down to hear it nor is it beyond the sea that you have to go get it.

Now 14 is where it gets GOOD !! ; )
14.....But thy word is very NIGH unto thee, In Thy Mouth, and in Thy Heart that thou mayest do it.
His word has been placed all around you. Media and books and churches and Bibles so there is no excuse not to know it.
This is telling us especially for today that His word needs to be in our minds, our hearts and mouth. Why mouth ? Because speaking Gods words bring God results...He is moved by His word and when He is moved by His word He see's to it that it is carried out. BUT it must be DONE IN FAITH !!

Here we go now
15.....SEE I HAVE SET BEFORE THEE THIS DAY LIFE AND GOOD AND DEATH AND EVIL.
16.....In that I COMMAND thee THIS DAY to LOVE the Lord thy God, TO WALK in His Ways, and to KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and His STATUTES and His JUDGMENTS that THOU MAYEST LIVE And Multiply and thee Lord thy God Shall BLESS Thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

So in these two verses we see several key things.
1...God gives US the CHOICE TO CHOOSE Life and Blessing or Death and Cursing or evil. We choose....Not God BUT we choose...
2...Now in verse 16 we see that GOD is telling us Pick His Way. He says IF YOU CHOOSE TO WALK MY WAY FOLLOW MY COMMAND.....this good life will be yours....
3...So in this Good Life we find several things....First we must make the choice to choose this life....Second which is just as important.....We MUST Choose To Walk This Life His Way Every Single Day Of Our Life in Order to stay in The Good Life of Blessing and protection and every other good thing that is included in Thee Blessing Of Thee Lord.

17...Now here is the flip side...the disobedient side....the side where you do not follow His commands such as walking in Love and Forgiveness and Living by Faith 24-7-365. You Step out side of His blessing. Remember verse 14 told us His Word is in Our Mouth and Heart so this says SPEAKING His word By and In and Through FAITH is also a commandment......or REQUIREMENT .

17......But if thine heart turn away, so that thou will NOT Hear, but be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them.
......Now remember a few things here. Heart turn away.....resist doing His word. Not allowing His word to take root. Not hearing.....again not giving His word a second thought so as to give it time to root in your heart. Be drawn away and to worship other gods.....This is as simple as walking in the flesh.....doing things your way or the way of the world. Giving something else leadership in your actions or believe over God.

18 tells us if we do not choose His way then.........I denounce unto you this day that thee shall surely perish, (( SEE THIS PLEASE )) AND that ye shall NOT PROLONG YOUR DAYS UPON the land, wither thou passest over Jorden to go to posses it.
Seems we can shorten or lengthen our lives here on this earth.... When you violate how God said to walk, live, think, speak, act and feed the body, or soul or spirit man you can shorten your life. We can Live the 120 years allotted to man found in Gen, 6:3 BUT you have got to be walking in the Blessing of the Lord which means, living, talking, believing acting on Gods word 24-7-365.

19 tells us simply this WE ARE WITH OUT EXCUSE.......
I call Heaven and earth to record this day AGAINST YOU, That I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU, LIFE AND DEATH, BLESSING AND CURSING; THEREFORE Choose Life , that both thou and thy seed may live.......
.....again God not only has left this choice up to us....He called Heaven and earth to record this day.....so we have no excuse......God even goes a step further......if for some reason you are still not sure which is better...Blessing or cursing....He tells us MAN....CHOOSE LIFE.....CHOOSE BLESSING....

20.. tells us please pick life and blessing so we can have this.....
That thou mayest Love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey His voice , and that thou mayest cleave unto Him; For He Is Thy Life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Now then I had wanted to get further into the curses but this is getting long and some do not have the patience to read very much at one time so.
I suggest that you read chapter 28 of Deuteronomy and check out all the things mentioned in this curse. Every thing you see going on in this earth today you can find it recorded under the curse or UNDER THE CHOICE OF NOT CHOOSING GODS WAY.

We know that through Christ Jesus we have been redeemed from the curse of the law..... So as a born again Believer it once again falls on OUR CHOICE to live by Faith and according to His very word. When we as Christians fail to do so and step out side of the Blessing is when we find Christians walking a defeated life. Sickness ? We are redeemed from the curse of sickness and disease. Poverty ? We are redeemed from the curse of poverty. However it is up to us to activate this or release this in our own lives. How? By knowing His word and living each day by His word and using His word and doing His word. WE have to know who we are in Christ and what authority is ours and recognise when the devil is simply trying to kill, steal and destroy.

Also Psalm 115:16 KJV
The Heaven, even the Heavens, are the LORDS, BUT the earth hath He given to the children of men.
In Heaven God is in Total Control. That is why there is No Crime, Poverty, Sickness, or any other evil thing.
Now here on earth there is evil ruining rampant.........Remember God has Given Man The Choice.......Choose His way and Blessing and Life will follow OR do it your own way with out God and you will have cursing and death.

God decided to give man free will so when God decided to do this, well it became a good thing so man has Free Will. Man makes their own choice to follow God or Not to.....Now man is not sovereign unto himself. What does this mean ? It means man needs a spiritual overlord. What does that mean ?
It means that there is NO such thing as the devils thoughts and Gods thoughts and there are MY thoughts.. No this is simply not the way it works.

Man is getting his thoughts or influenced either by Godly thinking through a renewed mind and heart and the Holy spirit and so forth OR man is getting his thoughts influenced by the devil and when this is true the devil will lead you down the road of destruction, one thought at a time. When a Christian is not functioning with in the word of God he is carnal minded and a man who is not born again is simply a natural man. A carnal minded man can not truly operate in Faith. This limits his results and is NOT the fault of God.

Last thing.......Scripture tells us to take captive every thought......
Ever wonder why ? Now you know......
Scripture tells us Take No Thought Saying.....understand this......How do you take a thought ? You Say that thought....so that is speaking a thought and giving it words......Why would scripture tell us this ? Because Words are as a power activating force working either as a blessing or cursing or Positively or Negatively.

This is why the devil wants your words.....This is why the devil whispers or taunts you with thoughts and suggestions. He is haunting you, tormenting you into allowing him right to kill, steal and destroy. That is why the devil was trying so hard to get Job to curse God and die. The devil knew if Job did this then the blessing ( hedge) would be lifted and the devil could kill, steal and destroy this blessing and job...Now when scripture talks about how job did not sin and blameless ........it is referring to this one point...Job did not curse God....... However job through his worry and words or fear and doubt took his eyes off of God and unto the fear and worry that the devil had been haunting job with......

Job bit it, swallowed the lies, hook, line and sinker. Job began to operate in his fear for his children and worry and aloud his words to turn from Godly words full of blessing unto fearful words and doubting words and this removed him from the protection of the blessing (hedge). So job ended up giving the devil a way in and GOD only set a limit to satan and NEVER gave satan permission for anything......

People including Christians make bad choices and bad choices have bad results.

Thank You For taking the time to read this.
Have a very Blessed Week
Jim

Yes, indeed! God spoke both the blessings and the curses. He also created men giving them the authority to choose between blessings or the curses. These choices have always existed for men. Jesus did not change that. He fined tuned it for us and became the Door which had been closed for so long. Give God the glory!

Yes, of course, I guess I misspoke. In the very earliest book, (Genesis) Jesus was the Gate (Door) into the garden as well as the flaming sword which guarded that entrance .

Greetings again,

and even that Light before that?
2Corinthians 4:4
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

and Colossians 1:12-14
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

John 3:16-21
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

This is good Jim! When folks tell me that God is in control...I enjoy their reactions when I answer."If God is in control, He's doing a lousy job of it and needs to be replaced" The fact is God owns this business but put us in as managers. We call the shots. and yes By our words.

Greetings again,

and even that Light before that?
2Corinthians 4:4
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Was David who sought it also able to see his face?

"When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." Psalm 27:8

"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Gen 1:3

Greetings,

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Bless you ....><>

God is in control of circumstances. We are in control of our decisions.

To say God is in control of all our actions, (not just the good, but also the bad) is to say God causes us to sin.

Galatians 3:22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Romans 11:32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.
Proverbs 20:24 A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?
Proverbs 16:9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps
Proverbs 21:30 There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.
Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Psalm 33:10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.

Isaiah 43:13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"
Isaiah 14:27 "For the LORD of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?"

Job 40:8 "Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?

It appear to me that scriptures tends to favor the concept of God being in control.
However our false imaginations, perspectives, measurements, judgements, observations and belief systems are not his creation so they may be under the control of the one who created and maintains them.

All of the verses you quoted tell about how God set out to save us all. It does not talk about who is in control.

Genesis 1:25-27 (CJB)

25 God made each kind of wild beast, each kind of livestock and every kind of animal that crawls along the ground; and God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.”

27 So God created humankind in his own image;
in the image of God he created him:
male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27-29 (CJB)

27 So God created humankind in his own image;
in the image of God he created him:
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them: God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air and every living creature that crawls on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Here! Throughout the whole earth I am giving you as food every seed-bearing plant and every tree with seed-bearing fruit.

Matthew 16:19King (KJV)

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The one holding the keys is the one in authority. And Oh! Look! Who is it that declares what is legal or illegal? Us.

So we are in control in the Earth. Why did God put us in control. Logically it would be a good training ground to learn how to rule. We will rule with Him throughout eternity and we need to learn how. Am I wrong?

This clarifies what it means that God is Sovereign.

Sovereignty of God Definition - What is it?

ANSWER:

"Sovereignty is God's control over His creation, dealing with His governance over it: Sovereignty is God's rule over all reality." – Dr. Norman Geisler

"The word means principal, chief, supreme. It speaks first of position (God is the chief Being in the universe), then of power (God is supreme in power in the universe). How He exercises that power is revealed in the Scriptures. A sovereign God could be a dictator (God is not). Or a sovereign could abdicate the use of his powers (God has not). Ultimately God is in control of all things, though He may choose to let certain events happen according to natural laws which He has ordained." – Charles Ryrie

"The sovereignty of God means that He has total control of all things past, present and future. Nothing happens that is out of His knowledge and control. All things are either caused by Him or allowed by Him for His own purposes and through His perfect will and timing (Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 8:6). He is the only absolute and omnipotent ruler of the universe and is sovereign in creation, providence and redemption." Bible Questions Answered

"What do we mean by [the sovereignty of God]? We mean the supremacy of God, the kingship of God, the god-hood of God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that God is God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Most High, doing according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth, so that none can stay His hand or say unto Him what doest Thou? (Daniel 4:35). To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Almighty, the Possessor of all power in Heaven and earth, so that none can defeat His counsels, thwart His purpose, or resist His will (Psalm 115:3). To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is "The Governor among the nations" (Psalm 22:28), setting up kingdoms, overthrowing empires, and determining the course of dynasties as pleaseth Him best. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the "Only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords" (1 Timothy 6:15). Such is the God of the Bible."

"If there is any element of the universe that is outside of his authority, then he no longer is God over all. In other words, sovereignty belongs to deity. Sovereignty is a natural attribute of the Creator. God owns what he makes, and he rules what he owns." – R.C. Sproul

‎"Divine sovereignty is a vast subject: it embraces everything that comes into the biblical picture of God as Lord and King in His world, the One who 'worketh all things after the counsel of his own will' (Ephesians 1:11), directing every process and ordering every event for the fulfilling of His own eternal plan." – J.I. Packer

Packer

This is a good article Chad. I agree that God is sovereign No argument. He owns the entire store. However He does delegate that authority. As in verses I quoted above. and more examples

Romans 13; Luke 10:17-20; Colossians 2:11-15;

God yielded choice to men, but He does not want them to use it. He wants them rather to look to Him and the direction that He will always provide. Most men, most of the time it seems, keep hold of the reins that God gave to them. So the "old man" rules in many hearts and others who have received the power to overcome struggle needlessly because they continuously quench the Holy Spirit rather than simply following and obeying.

Want to know how God wants his creation to be like? As sovereign God he made the Garden of Eden on a perfect earth, put the perfect man in it, and let him have the perfect help-meet wife who was not another animal species, but flesh of his own flesh. On the other end of his will on earth is the end of revelation's description of the thousand year reign of Jesus on earth and the new earth. Most of all in between has been the result of men choosing death instead of life, our sovereign God handing dominion over to his man.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (KJV)
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Most didn't choose well, making shipwreck of their dominion. Thankfully God put a time limit on that decision of his to let man rule earth, so that our lease is almost at its end. Thn God gets it back and asks no questions, taking complete control..

Thanks be to Jesus for making the way to agree with God for intercession, to enjoy the benefits of a little of his sovereign power through this widely unknown secret that'sin plain view:
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Sovereign God's will is then not well being done on earth as it is in heaven when we fail to pray. .Men settle for other options. I gladly yield my right of dominion to God who can manage my part of the world around me. He always does it right. I see many other people in the world are not enjoying blessings of God, not praying, or praying amiss.

So you're saying that man is in charge in the Earth right now? I agree. For example. As you put it, our perfect God put a perfect man, Adam, into the garden with instructions....Tend the garden, grow it, multiply it. Take dominion. Then later He tells man. Here's a choice. You can choose life or you can choose death, blessing or cursing. I'll even make it easy for you....Choose life. So man still has dominion but our LORD is still sovereign. Cool! He tells us managers what He wants in the store and sets us loose to do it. We have dominion over every creature and resource on the planet. Its up to us to tend the garden, to multiply it, to replenish it. And what did we do? We followed the serpent all over again. WE chose, Now its up to us to turn around and seek Him.

Yes. The sum of all mankind's record between Genesis 3 and the coming of Jesus at the end of the tribulation in Revelation serves as evidence that God's way is always right, that
the creation must best be in his hands under his full control, with man willingly obeying without fail.

I love it when there is agreement..Don't you? :-)

All of the verses you quoted tell about how God set out to save us all. It does not talk about who is in control.
Some of them certainly show that and more.
We can't just toss out scripture that does not conform to a belief system.
I see that when all scripture is taken into account that it appears contradictory and that's actually a sign to look deeper.
It creates a paradox with two extreme systems that cancel each other out.

Many times scripture does this because it's describing something that we may not yet have considered.
A paradigm is a way to describe something not easily seen or even unseen.
When we walk we completely shift from one extreme to the other in order to move in a singular direction.

paradigm (n.) Dictionary.com
late 15c., from Late Latin paradigma "pattern, example," especially in grammar, from Greek paradeigma "pattern, model; precedent, example," from paradeiknynai "exhibit, represent," literally "show side by side," from para- "beside" (see para- (1)) + deiknynai "to show"

The one holding the keys is the one in authority. And Oh! Look! Who is it that declares what is legal or illegal? Us.
Yes,no doubt that's the reason we are in the mess we are in.

Remember the first temptation of Jesus was to turn the stones into bread.
In other words "get your own needs met first".
Jesus knew he had come to be bread for the stones not the other way around.

The last temptation was to rule this world.

Matthew 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

We have a choice to consume or be consumed,Jesus chose to be consumed.
To become bread from raw wheat may take some processing.

Do you think it's temptation to do as we are told? If God says "Take dominion" Is it wrong to take dominion? Not at all. Its wrong though when we do it without His Word in our decisions or larger, in our dominion.
