13It fell on aday when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in theireldest brother’s house, 14that there came a messenger to Job and said, The oxenwere ploughing and the donkeys feeding beside them, 15and the Sabeans attackedand took them away. 13 They often had feasts but it shows they were doing this instead ofreacting to what happened, it shows that they had comfort in life and lost it due to their taking comfort if they wereout their with the servants they may have been able to spare so.

14 This messenger was a servant of Job spared so Job could have known whathad happened. The number of oxen Job had was not numbered, but would have mostlikely been in the hundreds or even thousands. Job had 500 donkeys.

15 This have taken many people to steal all these donkeys, So Job has aservant left that cared for the donkeys and worked with the oxen but there areno longer any donkeys or oxen. Sabeans were lived inthe south west of the Arabian Peninsula. Theywere a group of idol and star worshipers. They are often viewed as a group ofbandits that lived in the desert. They were also worked with trading, so it islikely they gave what Job had to others for money or something else rather thankeeping it for them.

Hello- i feel like they didn't know what had happened until after the fact. Maybe they were guilty of negligence by spending to much time feasting and not being aware.
As we move along we see one tragedy after another affecting Job yet He never cursed God. One lesson here is always trust God even when you feel abandoned.
Our trials can make us bitter or they can make us better.
Why do you think God made a deal with the devil to test Job?
