1 Jn 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
1 Jn 3:6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1 Jn 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices (produces)righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
1 Jn 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
1 Jn 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Clearly Jesus came to abolish wilful sin and rebellion in the truly repentant sinner. He was sent to take away our sins, but sins we refuse to keep doing wilfully, with a pre planned agenda to disobey Him and go against His word are not covered under the blood of Christ.
The next time the professed lukewarm Christians accuse you of sinless perfection, or they throw out their favorite excuse by asking you "Do you sin?" Just remind them they have the God given ability to STOP their sin and rebellion against Him, and making excuses why they cant stop is from the devil! they are totally ignoring these powerful truths from God.
