(Matthew 7) "‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”"

What do we see?did we not prophesy, did we not drive out demons, did we not perform many miracles?in your name... not Jesus alone.there own works in Jesus name..It is not Jesus+works ..Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.not i prophesy,i cast out devils,i perform many miracles in your name.

Rom 11:6 ;Rom 9:32 ;Eph 2:9

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Hi James g, the key to understanding what Jesus was talking about here, is made clear in the preceding verses. In Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus said: "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, you will know them by their fruits." Here, Jesus is talking about the Jewish religious leaders. These men were preaching what the bible said, then adding to it their personal point of view to make the laws even more burdensome. Then, despite their showy religious behavior, they failed to personally practice what they taught and in actual fact practiced greedy wicked behavior.

Then Jesus starts talking about the same type of false teachers who claim to follow Jesus, by saying in verse 21: "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." He is talking about a future point in time when people are judged before Jesus. He continues saying in verse 22, 23: "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'" Many will perform many powerful works, just like the "TV Shows" where TV healers claim to heal people, which resent documentaries have shown many are just con men out to get your money. Just like the greedy wicked Pharisees in Jesus' day, they do not practice what they preach. They twist the scriptures and tell people God will not help them or heal them unless they give them money and then twist the scriptures to prove their point. These very ones may prosper now, but when they are judged buy Jesus, saying they performed all sorts of powerful works in his name. He will say to them, I never knew you, depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.

That why we need a one on one relationship with our Father god though Jesus Christ . We cannot put our faith in mankind .

None are perfect or know all truth with the correct understanding .

2Ti_3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I see many preaching against faith and looking down on others ! This is not of GOD .

Heb_10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

1Ti_5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
Meaning ? We do not count one brother or sister above others . They are all important to our LORD JESUS equally

Gal_6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

1Co_2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

1Co_1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pe_3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
He did it all . No man can glory in his works or look upon them as greater than others .

Looking down on others is a serious sin . I done it . I am very sorry , i did not show more love and mercy now .

Just some random thoughts on this subject:

How terrible it is to go through life without knowing Him; Perhaps even worse, using His Name, doing "religious deeds" and never knowing Him- what a waste.

Works based salvation is no substitute so a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I can have my works burned as by fire and still be saved, but then I have no crown to lay at His worthy feet.

He created us for fellowship; He saved us to restore fellowship- and yet many simply do not want to invest the time to know Him.

A living relationship with Jesus will surely produce works but they are never the basis of salvation. It is only in the shed blood of the Lamb of God that we find our redemption.

We are to walk like Jesus ; We are to be led of the Spirit, do the Father;s works and speak the Father;s Words- all else is flesh and has no eternal value and cannot please the Father.

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits" (Matt. 7:5-20). The [kingdom] warning here is against false prophets who are to be discerned by the quality of their lives."

"The warning to the Christian under grace is against false teachers who are to be discerned by their doctrine concerning Christ (2 Pet. 2:1; 2 John 1:7-11), never by their lives; for outwardly, false teachers are said to appear as the "apostles of Christ," and to be under the influence of Satan who himself appears as an "angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:13-15). The attractive personality of the false teacher affords great advantage as a "front" for the appeal he makes for his false doctrine."

You can normally tell . Because they always are bragging or revealing it about them . They did this they are in charge they are better than others .

Being self centered is the problem for many .

They lift them selves up not our LORD JESUS .

Now that not to say we are not to be doing those works . We are . He said too .

I think some feel that they should not being doing these works that the LORD called us too . Fearing others will look down on us ?

I know for a fact satan tries to use scripture against us , to keep us from obeying or living the scriptures .

satan fears the true children of GOD . he saw what took place when just a few truly obeyed and followed our LORD JESUS .

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mat_10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

trouble is so many are faking it or maybe there are many miracles done by those who are not the elect ?

I know many are sickly in many ways and do need prayer from us .

The church I go to do not do as it says in James . I told the pastor we should . He looked at me like I was nuts ?

i also think a lot of times people are afraid they might fail ? Others might mock them ?

i heard about a guy who kept praying for the dead . None were bought back . He prayed for about 200 people then one came back . Aftrer that lots were coming back .

I never saw any of it . But the guy who told me I believe .

But i have raise though the name [Jesus Christ] and power of the Holy Ghost Two people and a cat . I know it sounds funny a cat ?

My little daughter and I laid hands on Her kitty who died and I also prayed in my mind that the LORD would do it so My daughter would have more faith . .

But He did not say we could only pray for people anyway .

Mar_10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Luk_18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
