Professor of the gospel!
Guard against the world; it is your undoing!
Watch against conformity to it . . .
in your dress,
in your mode of living,
in the education of your children,
in the principles, motives, and policy that govern you.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit by any known inconsistency of conduct,
any sinful conformity to the world,
any inordinate pursuit of
its wealth,
its honours,
its pleasures,
its friendships, and
its great things.

Pray against the sin of covetousness, that canker worm that feeds at the root of so many souls!

Pray against the love of dress, that sin that diverts the mind of so many professors from the simplicity of Christ, and takes the eye off from the true adornment!

Pray against a thirst for light and trifling reading, that strange and sinful inconsistency of so many, the certain tendency of which is to starve the life of God in the soul, to engender a distaste for spiritual nourishment, for the Word of God, for holy meditation, and for Divine communion and fellowship. Yes, pray against the spirit of worldly, sinful conformity in everything!

Reader! are you a professing Christian?
Then guard against a worldly Christianity—
A Christianity that wears a fair exterior, so far as it is composed of church attendance, but which excludes from it the cross of the meek and lowly Lamb of God
A Christianity which loves the world and the things of the world, "makes a fair show in the flesh," speaks well of Christ, and yet betrays Him with a kiss.
Oh, awful state! oh, fearful deception! oh, fatal delusion!

The world is the sworn enemy of your Saviour; let it not be your friend. No; come out of it, and be separate.

I have often wondered if some of us become so comfortable being "half in" and "half out" of the church, that we fall asleep unaware of how close we are to falling all the way out to our doom.

for those who are not aware, Octavius wrote this well over a hundred and thirty years ago -
before all the modern attractions and trends
before the many different teachings and preachings in the world by the world and sadly
in the name of Christ in churches and congregations

before even a car was ever made
before computers and internet
before television
before cinema
before airplanes and helicopters
before ambulances and atomic warfare

and yet it reads as if someone had only now thought it to be a message for today

if the men and women of his year had all these problems to fight off and deal with -
how much more do we need to be aware of the trappings of the world today?

if all we can see in babies is making a stink and lots of crying, perhaps we are missing something?

In our spirit we are All Sons of God ! His kings and Priests on the earth ! the question becomes ? Can God use His sones anyway He wants or Not ? We All understand in the flesh we are different 1 but is the flesh bound by it weakness or not?
We are All God Prophets on the earth ! There is no separation in the Spirit of the people that are GOD Holy Child 1

I do not think women would have those titles ? pastor or others !
but God can and does use any who are willing1 He called us all too be ministers ! But we will minister in different ways !

Rev_19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
We All have the same spirit of prophecy ! Does that make each of us prophets ? I think so!

2Co_3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. I gues the real Question is ? What does this scripture mean to You ?

You know once ? I asked my wife to do some and She refused to !
I got on my kneees and , aid to the LORD ! This woman You gave mje will not listen to me ! I already gave my word to the pastor and sghe refuses to help ! I turning it over to You LORd to deal with Her ! He did and She did what I wanted Her too !

It up too all of us man , woman and even child , too give the good news ! Our LORD Gospel , which is the only way to salvation !

Gal_3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
God can use a Rock or domkey 1 surely He could use any of us if He had too ?

I seen a number of women anointed with powerful anointing by the Holy Ghost ! It could only come from the Holy Ghost the knowledge they have ! Many know much more than most men on the earth who are preaching junk ?

Maybe that the problem ? So many are mixing the old covenant with the New covenany like they go together ? So God has to use the few willing to give the truth ? Our churches today are so divided and appeared so self centered ?

This is really a hard subject to fully understand ? I see it both ways to some degree ? And I understand our Spirit is much higher than our flesh !

This goes for the Men as well as the female ! 1Pe_2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:


Rev_1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Rev_5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

I do not it does not bother me to hear a Spirit filled woman to preach , in fact i like it !

Thank you so much, Fragrant Grace!!!!!!! Most believers are worldly to some degree, including myself. Lately, as in the past few months, have been ridding myself of worldly desires and passions that used to fuel my heart more than Jesus did. God has given me a passion for cars, and with it I have learned a lot, had a lot of fun, and got my degree in automotive technology. But after speculation, it was clear to me that I was idolizing cars. I would spend all my money on a mere machine made of metal, plastic and rubber that was just supposed to get me to work or where ever. When my mind suddenly focuses on car, or any other wordly thing, and distracts me from Jesus Christ, it's clear that I'm being tempted. Now I see distractions all around me. I used to turn to those things for comfort, now there is only one source for true peace and comfort: Jesus Christ. I've been a Christian for over 8 years and until just a few weeks ago I was focusing 90% of my energy on worldy things. You have to do worldy tasks such as work, but if you realize God gave you that job and thank Jesus for it and the circumstances that come with it, you're turning a worldly task into a walk with Christ!
