Hi
I was a became at Christian at age 16. I am now 39, am really trying to follow Jesus. I really want him to be Lord of my life. I lived for so long in deception, as a lukewarm Christian. I am trying not to look back and just seek Him with everything I have.

I have been seeking God fervently for the past two months (worshiping, praying, reading the bible) and I don't feel different. I think I should feel closer to God. I really want to know Jesus. It feels like a lot of it was in vain.

Does anyone have any advice? I need prayers

It is by faith you are saved, and this is a gift from God, it is not from yourself, lest any man boast. You shall not ever be saved by being good, worshiping, praying, and reading the bible, it is by FAITH! Do not pray to God if you dont have the faith to believe in His existance. If you dont believe He exists, then He will not answer you. As to a lifestyle that you may be living that makes you feel unworthy to be a christian, thats one of two things, either you fail to acknowledge that you will still sin from time to time, and must simply except that you are a sinner, unworthy of God, and that only in your union to God through Christ can you be found righteous.... or the Holy Spirit is convicting you to stop living some of the lifestyle that you are currently living, and you are sad because you are unwilling to give it up. You must give it up no matter the cost if the second scenario is true, for the Holy Spirit would be convicting you to do so, and to deny that would be to deny the Holy Spirit, to reject the Holy Spirit, to continually do so, is indeed the unforgivable sin.

Walk by faith my friend, He will reveal Himself to you in great power. I have been in the place you now stand, hungry for His presence; while it is not the most pleasant place we can walk it is a place where hunger turns into desperation, where we are sure we must find Him at all costs. He is building a desire inside you to live constantly in His presence, this is after all what you were created for- to walk with Him, to know Him as Father, to have your life filled with His love.
Do not give up, do not weary in well doing, know that He wants to be with you more than you can imagine, and know that He is already there walking beside you. You will see this manifest.

Many blessings in Jesus Name,
your brother Larry.

It very simple ! Fast and pray !
We just fast three full days water only reading the Bible and praying for Him to help us get thur that 2nd day ! Because satan will do anything to stop us ! he fears us walking in GOD POWER and Hearing our LORD well !

I know my answer too lots of Questions is fasting !
But we then walk and live in our Spirit so much more ! When the disciples had big questions or problems ? They fasted !

Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.

Luk_5:35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
Mar_2:20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

Fasting is not taught enough !
He will tell us LOTS then and we can Hear HIM WELL!

Bless All here who really LOVE our LORD JESUS CHRIST! in the Mighty name of My LORD JESUS ,thank you Fatther GOD!

Hello dear Alanna Foster,

are you tied up or have you been involved with occult practices and a form or forms of witchcraft?

If so you need to stop that! Repent of all your sins!

Confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord, talk about Him publically confess Him.

And CRY OUT with your whole heart for Him to Save you

Just repent and Call out to Him: JESUS SAVE ME PLEASE HELP ME HAVE MERCY!

Surrendering all to Him!

God Bless you and Strengthen you in Jesus Name Amen

Hello Alanna, I know that others have already spoken some good words here, but I would like to say what I see when it comes to walking with God: Jesus said,
"ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" Acts 1:8
Then the promise was fulfilled in Acts chapter 2. After many had received the gift of the Holy Ghost and the power mentioned, some asked of Peter and the other apostles,
"Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Acts 2:37
Then Peter answered saying,
"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38-39
So what is it that the Holy Ghost does for us? Jesus already explained that here:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26
What is that Jesus said that we are to remember? If you read the gospels you will be taking in what He said. But anyone can read those words and receive nothing. The key is after we have read them to have them in our heart so that they are understood and remembered when they are needed. This is why the Holy Ghost is needed. I won't attempt to tell what the gift of the Holy Ghost is, but I will strongly suggest that you pray for the promised Comforter, the Holy Ghost, and ask God to bring to Life in you the words of scripture that you read as you need them. This is not by memorization. This is by the Spirit, the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost. Remember the promise in the first verse I quoted: "Ye shall receive power". Without that power no one can be saved, but...
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7

Hi, I am fasting. Day 2. This is the first time I have ever given up coffee for one whole day. Day 1 I drank coffee. I have been having headaches this afternoon and my vision was blurred so much that I couldn't read. Is omitting coffee really a big deal. Any encouragement for sticking with it is appreciated :)

By the way, thanks for your first response as well!

Someone who has caffeined themselves with coffee regularly have let thier bodies become addicted to the caffeine so that without it, you will have headaches, and much more tired and cranky than normal. It would probably take several weeks of doing without before those symptoms begin to fade. I would forstall giving up coffee for now, its not what goes into the body that causes the greatest problems, its what comes out of the body. If you are fasting, make it a solid food fast. Still drink liquids, like tomato soup, broth, diet soft drinks, dietetic energy drinks found in a pharmacy (like diet chocolate energy drinks). And cut down on activities and speed accomplishing them, you wont have your normal energy level.

Not to tell anyone when your Fasting 1 unless you Must ?

Mat 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
Mat 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

God will honor you for this fast ! bless you in 5the mighty name of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST! Thank you LORD!

after your fast is finished ? Tell other what took place for the LORD Glory and Honor !

our testimonies are Important !

Continually taking to heart everything written in all of your replies. Thanks everyone! Learning, although faith without works is dead, I am learning it's so much more about faith. To anyone in a similar situation, trust Jesus, He will lead you in the right direction :) He is the Master, Saviour and Creator!
I am learning to trust :)

Faith without works ! Just means our Faith needs some kind of Action to work ! It does not work by it self !

Love gives us the correct action for our Faith to work!

Gal_5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

At Salvation , we Do two actions ! We confess with our Mouth and We believe in our Heart [Spirit]

I Once broke my ankle very bad ! I asked the Lord ? are you going to heal this or not ?
He said ? You going to walk in faith or Not ? i had to take three steps that really hurt , before i was healed ! It took a few more days for the swelling and looks to change 1 But i had no pain at all and no problems !

We live by Faith Not sight !

Joining you in prayer

remember that it is not what you have done or not done, it is a gift from God to you and me and all that will receive
only believe

Hi Dutch,

Thank you for this reply.
When I was a teenager I was involved in some occult things, mainly reading, but also Ouija. Two years ago I watched shows on the paranormal. That is bad as well I know. I have repented of a lot. I will try to make sure everything is covered, allowing Jesus to bring everything to the surface

Thank you for your advice and sharing what you did.

Alanna
