Heavenly Sanctuary

Hello God bless. God dwelt w/humans for a while first in a Mountain then in a tabernacle then in a temple and so on. What caught my attention in Scriptures is the fact that as God told Moses in Exodus, and in Hebrews chpt9 that the sanctuary that was made here in heaven, you know outer court -holy place-most holy place was a copy of a heavenly sanctuary!!! INCREDIBLE!.

So i dove deeper and come to find out each and every ornament of ceremony that happened in the Sanctuary was a type of ministry or event that Jesus fulfilled and will fulfill. REMEMBER there is a heavenly Sanctuary the Bible tells us. Does anyone here know or have studied the signifance of the Sanctuary? I mean I believe it has to be important for two reasons, probably many more but
Reason 1- Half the Old Testament and alot of New Testament is full of Sanctuary meaning
reason 2- There is a Sanctuary in Heaven as we live now

Now we can move it along. All along Hebrews and Revelation is loaded with Sanctuary talk right? You might ask what does this have to do with us and salvation? Ill tell u now it has everything to do with our salvation! Lets start of with what this blueprint of the Sanctuary in Heaven consist of.

This Sanctuary consist of 3 main locations. We have the Outer Court, Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place. We will see in this thread how important this Sanctuary, or Gods dwelling place right now, is. Its a 3d of Gods intent and design on how to save mankind.

Lets start of by remembering that this sanctuary its a copy of the heavenly, we cannot forget where the original still is. Well what we also going to see is thqt every item( furniture, sacrafice, etc) points to Jesus our Savior. We will also see that from the very beggining of Creation, God had this in plan already. For instance when Adam and Eve sinned, what had to happen?

Lets take a look back in Gen 3, Adam and Eve just finished sinning and God calls out to them. They run and hide because they are naked, what do they make for themselves or put on themselves to cover their nakedness? Fig leaves. Now these fig leaves is what they made and taught it was enough. No, no, no. God then made tunics or clothes to cover them fron animal skin. In other words, an animal had to be sacraficed from the beginning of creation( showing them the plan of salvation- that Jesus was that animal), then clothed them. Another words God was telling them you Adam and Eve cannot atone for your mistake, there is only One who can.

Any where God is can be a sanctuary so yes heaven would have a sanctuary. A sanctuary is any place of worship to God because of Christ's death we are not limited to one building but open to any place where two are gathered in His name.

Yes true Clark, but im talking about the true sanctury not made w/hands. Ok lets start w/ the first apartment which was the Outer Court. In the Outer Court we had the place where Israel(Gods people) were supposed to come and bring their sin offerings.

We had the BRAZEN ALTAR- this was where according to the sins u commited you would have to bring an animal for each sin. Animal had to be a certain kind of animal and be blameless.Who or what do you think this pointed to? Yes yourr right Jesus. Each and every day this carried on they were given a 3d effect that Jesus was coming to save us.

Just wondering what you mean by the statement;

Study the sanctuary service in the old testement and read Lev. 16:29-34 The high priest represents Christ in the heavenly sanctuary. The sacrificed lamb was only the beginning of the atonement for sin. It was set up to teach Isreal and us the whole plan of redemption.

Ok so we are still at the brazen altar, where an animal had to be slain for our sins. Which the Bible makes clear that Jesus was that Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world John 1. Now this is where alot of people seem to stop at. What i mean is this first part of the service was what Christ did for us at the Cross. Now lets see if this ended there. Obviously it didnt if this is the first compartment. So why do many just say thats all I need is Jesus and what He did for me at the cross, yes we need that but theres more.

Now lets go to the next item in the outer court. We have the brazen laver, where the priest would then go and get washed up representing Christ in our lives. Christ power to help us put our old ways behind and come up new creatures. Next we go into the next compartment the Holy Place that only the High Priest can enter.

Hello all on this thread. Just wondering whether the information below is correct? Do Seventh-day Adventists teach salvation by grace through faith? Yes they do, but they also teach that a person’s ultimate salvation will be determined by the outcome of the Investigative Judgment. This doctrine, never taught before in the history of the church, teaches that beginning on October 22, 1844 an Investigative Judgment of all believer’s lives began. During this judgment, Adventists teach, believer’s names come up before God. If a believer has sinned that sin is marked down by a recording angel in heaven. That sin goes against the believer in the judgment. If a believer confesses that sin, “pardon” is written against that sin, but the sin remains on the books of record. Every single sin must be confessed to have “pardon” written by it. When a believer’s name comes up in this Investigative Judgment, God will weigh the good works against the sins. A believer never knows when God may come to his name in this judgment. When God looks at the believer’s life, Adventist’s teach, if those sins that were confessed and had been “pardoned” were not perfectly overcome, they will go against the believer. Bottom line, an Adventist must perfectly overcome their sin in order to stand before God. They are taught by their prophetess that they must stand before a holy God without Jesus as their mediator. Their prophetess Ellen G. White says, “Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator” (The Great Controversy, p. 425)

Hi DHC, getting back to the Sanctuary thats in heaven, not Adventists theology but the Bible all over the New Testament. Now we enter into the Holy Place, you can read this in Exodus 23- the book of Joshua. Onnthe right when they entered on the right there was the table of showbread. This bread was there each and every day was eaten only by the High Priest.

Now as we saw in the Outer Court everything points to Christ. Remember this is a 3d paronama of Gods gift of salvation. Table of Showbread represented Christ. How you may ask? Why is it that we partake in communion, because that bread signifies the Body of Christ.

Another thing i forgot to say is that DHC what u wrote is wrong about the Adventist thing. Now back to the Table of Showbread. Sorry I didnt put the text, Jesus said He was the "Bread of Life" in John 6:35. Another awesome thing is that there was 12 loafes of bread, which represents the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 disciples God used to spread the Word throughout the then world. The Word was Bread Matt4:4,it was also Jesus (John 1).

The Sanctuary message is of vital importance,i believe for all fellow brothers and sisters to study with prayer. This sanctuary message is vitally important to understand our salvation thru justification( outer court), sanctification ( Holy place) and judgement (Holy Place). We will next see the other items that were in the Holy Place, the Candlestick. God bless

Yes that is true, Christ is God's Sanctuary in the Heavens. We, joined to Christ, are also God's sanctuary. It is for this purpose that He made us in His own image. Everything in the design of the earthly sanctuary is an aspect of Christ. Which is not surprising since Christ is all, and in all Col 3:11

There was the outer court, holy place and holy of holies, this is a sanctuary built by man. God has created us with 3 parts.. body, soul, spirit..this is a sanctuarybuilt by God. Christ also has 3 parts.. body, soul, spirit. What is the Sanctuary in the Heavens? This is the dwelling place of God built by Him. We and Christ as one married couple (Christ the husband, church the wife) are the dwelling place of God in the heavens through our body, soul and spirit. God created us as vessels, to be His dwelling place. God is the treasure in our earthen vessels: 2 Cor 4:7 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;"

Outer court has the altar and the basin.
Holy Place has the show bread , lampstand and incense altar.
The Holy of Holies has the ark of the testimony. In the ark was manna, budding rod, and the
stone tablets of law.
Each of these has deep significance of Christ. So we discuss a few...

Incense altar signifies our prayers offered up to God and Christ who ever intercedes for us. When Jesus said the Father wants us worship Him in spirit and in truth..(John 4:24), he meant He wants us to come into the Holy of Holies.. into our spirit where the Spirit dwells. We move from our soul into our spirit by prayer, as signified by the incense altar. But we are not just offering any old incense.. the only incense that is a sweet fragrance pleasing to God is Christ. We are not praying by ourselves.. we are praying with Christ, and our prayers are acceptable to God because of Christ in our praying. This is "praying in the Spirit".

The ark of the testimony signifies Christ. Our testimony is what we have experienced. The ark of the testimony is what we have experienced of Christ.
In Revelation 2:17 Jesus said he will give this manna to those who overcome.
The manna was for giving life to the Israelites. The manna signifies Christ as the bread of life who came out from Heaven. By eating Christ as the bread of life is how we have life in ourselves (John 6:53). We note that Jesus did not want us to only learn from Him, but to eat Him. Teaching and learning is external, outside of us.. but whatever we eat goes inside of us, nourishes us, and we 'become what we eat'. Whatever we eat goes into us, is digested, processed, and then becomes part of our beings. Here is deep significance about why we must eat Christ for life, and not merely learn about Him or follow letters of law which results in death. Death is the absence of life, and is the result of not eating Christ.

The budding rod was placed in the ark as a sign after the Israelites rebellion. A rod is a dead piece of wood used for correction, beating. The budding rod signifies something of life coming out of something dead. The budding rod signifies Christ's resurrection. In our experience we are resurrected with Christ ( Colossians 3:1). Many Christians want to live crucified life, live in crucifixion, but we are to live according to Christ's resurrection. Resurrection signifies victory over death, satan, sickness, sin, world all of these things. Resurrection implies separation, sanctification, holiness. In resurrection we have our living not in the world of flesh and sin but in the heavens with Christ. All of this has taken place in our regenerated spirit by accomplished fact (past) and is taking place in our transformed soul by our experience (present), and our glorified bodies will also be completely free from the indwelling flesh of sin (in future).
