How to receive grace from God
The Bible says that “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6). So to receive grace from Jesus, we must be humble.
The meaning of “being humble” is about being humble to the Word of God by wanting to obey Him and trusting Him to settle the issues we are facing. However, the Bible says “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
This means that our hearts are treacherous and so both our hearts and minds will not want or allow us to be humble.
We must practice humility by calling on the Name of Jesus Christ for all our needs including our spiritual needs. We must first use the Name of Jesus Christ to command our hearts and minds and cast all our cares on Jesus Christ and to be humble.
When people are humble, do not look down on them. The Bible says that we must “Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” (Romans 12:16)
Sometimes, people are mistaken in thinking that humble people are cowards or ignorant. Let us not make that mistake. We must obey the command that “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” (Phil 2:3)
You can pray: In Jesus Name I cast out every spirit of pride and arrogance. I receive the spirit of humility and grace. I command my heart and mind and soul to be humble to the Word of God and to associate with the humble. I command my mind and heart not to be wise in my own opinion but to seek the Word of God. Lord Jesus, I want to be truly humble and receive your grace.
God bless and Peace of Christ!
