You sure seem to be trying to discredit God today. It's Gods wish that none should perish.
1Tim 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Now while God loves us, he loves us enough to respect our choice about salvation. Anyone is free to choose salvation, but many will refuse it because they don't see the point in it, they don't need it, they are "a good person", or any one of a dozen other reasons. But salvation depends upon accepting Christ and believing in him. If you don't do this, you go to hell. It isn't God's wish that you go to hell, but Jesus is the only way to get rid of sin, and sin can't exist in the presence of God. If anyone goes into the lake of fire, it's their choice, not God's.

World could also be read as the human
race.

Our earth is a physical abode not spiritual.

I am suspicious that the new earth is more
of a spiritual domain.

If God wants to incinerate it, that is His
prerogative after all it is His earth, His creation.

He is a consuming fire. He will cleanse all sin(and it's effects) and make everything new, that is His very nature. As far as loving the world- He was talking about mankind.

The Lion of God

If i get into a bath full of water and that water is a higher temperature than my body temperature, then i will experience it as warm or comfortably hot, depending on the difference in the temperature between myself and the bath water. If the temperature of that bath water is extremely hot my skin will burn and if significantly hotter i would die.

This is an oversimplified example it's true and in many ways inadequate. However, God is an all consuming fire and being the same temperature as God means we would not be consumed by him. As human flesh we could not reach this temperature (let's call it holiness/perfection) by ourselves so we needed Christ, who is the same temperature as God because he is God and because we are 'In Christ Jesus' ..... ah well, i hope you get where i'm going with it.
