Jesus is in Heaven. Jesus is not the GATE. You have to follow Jesus down the same path he went to which has a GATE.

Where is it located?

this is the way i look at it.

(Joh 10:9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Gate can be referred as the path. Its a way to describe how one lives his/her life, which way do they take.

Matthew, Chapter 7, 13: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

This way is easy, you live by world, you go with the world. Free to do whatever you want without no restrictions or worry. Many go through this path but it leads to eternal death.

Matthew, Chapter 7, 14: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

This way is not easy but it leads to the everlasting life. You have to go against the world, daily battle to avoid sinning and stood the test of persecution for proclaiming your faith.

further read:
A. THE BROAD WAY...
1. "...broad is the way" -
2. The way that leads to destruction is broad because it allows:
a. Any behavior one desires
b. No need for reformation or changes in one's "lifestyle"
3. Many people love this path
a. They think they are "free"
b. They believe they are "open-minded"
c. They view themselves as "tolerant" of others in this same
way

B. THE CONSTRICTED WAY...
1. "...difficult is the way" - (NKJV)
a. "...narrow the road" (NIV)
b. "the way is narrow" (NASB)
c. "narrow is the way" (KJV)
-- The picture is one of a narrow and difficult path between
two cliffs
2. The way that leads to life is "difficult" because it requires:
a. A righteousness that exceeds that of many religious people
-
b. A change in our behavior - cf. Mt 5:21-7:12
3. Because of its difficulty, many choose not to travel its path
a. They think it too "confining"
b. They think it is too "narrow-minded"

"Gate", in my opinion, is a metaphor for the difficult measure of humility required to be a true disciple of Jesus. Jesus humbled Himself when He came to earth as the God/man, our Messiah and He calls us to a life of humility.

Matt 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
Matt 7:14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

I think these verses are more about the "way" or the "path" than the gate. All through the Bible we see over and over again verses that talk about "the way", "the walk", "the race", "the journey", "the path". Which path do you want to walk on? Where does it lead? Jesus says one path leads to eternal life, the other path leads to destruction. Those are the only two paths. We are all walking on one of those two paths right now even as you read this. Many find the path to destruction, only a few find the path to eternal life. The "gate" is simply a metaphor of the decision in your mind as to which path you will follow.

Acts 9:2 and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Acts19:23 About that time there occurred no small disturbance concerning the Way.

Exo 16:4 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.
Exo 18:20 then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.
Lev 26:3 'If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out,
Deu 5:33 "You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.

Psa 16:11 You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psa 27:11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes.
Psa 36:4 He plans wickedness upon his bed; He sets himself on a path that is not good; He does not despise evil.
Psa 78:50 He leveled a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave over their life to the plague,
Psa 119:35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Acts 21:24 take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law.
Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Rom 8:4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
1Cor 7:17 Only, as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this manner let him walk. And so I direct in all the churches.
2Cor 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight--

Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Gal 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Gal 6:16 And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
Eph 4:17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
Eph 5:8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light
Eph 5:15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
Php 3:17 Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.

Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Col 2:6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
1Thes 2:12 so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
1Thes 4:1 Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
1Jn 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1Jn 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

Do you really believe it's talking about walking in the light as in "daytime" or the darkness as in "night-time", or are these verses about the path to life and the path to destruction? When he is saying we should "walk like him" and "walk in manner worthy" do you think it's talking about physically emulating the leg stride of Jesus, or do you think it's talking about a lifestyle?

Rom 3:17 AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN."
1Cor 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

I like this metaphor, the Christian "walk" is like jogging or running or hiking. It gets easier the more you do it and you get stronger the more you do it. We may not all be physically fit athletes, but we can be spiritually fit Christians.

Almost all of these verses are metaphors about "way" we should live, a "path" we should follow. A lifestyle we should be living. Many Christians are Christian in name only.
When other people look at you do they know you are a Christian without you having to tell them? We are supposed to be the light on a hill, the salt of the earth, different from other people. Which path on you on?

If your gate to heaven is not Jesus Christ but anything else like let's say following the TORAH you are in big trouble because any other gate then The Lord Jesus Christ leads into death.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. John 10:1

Come through The Cross!

Take care now.

The "gate" to eternal life, a.k.a., "the tree of life", is located at Jesus Christ's Spirit-active, perfect and diacritical death on the cross, where mankind arrived back to the starting point in Paradise!
(Gen. 2: 7-9; Matt. 27: 50-56; Luke 23: 40-43; John 19: 30-37)

PRAISE THE LORD!

Mat_7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat_7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Luk_13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

This gate Jesus referred to was plainly Himself.
From the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance:
G4439
πύλη
pulē
poo'-lay
Apparently a primary word; a gate, that is, the leaf or wing of a folding entrance (literally or figuratively): - gate.

There is but One entry point into the Kingdom of God and that is Jesus Christ. He now sits at the right hand of the Father (Rom 8:34) and there makes constant intercession for us.

Jesus Christ is the only Gate there is into the Kingdom of God, there is no other way.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" is a combination of altruistic language and "figure of speech about the Father" amounting to Christ's characteristic self-revelation in his death on the cross. Why is the observation valid or invalid?

(John 14: 6, 18-21; 16: 25-26)

Given the same author's paradigm shift, about Jesus Christ, from the human to the divine (2 Cor. 5:16), the "man Christ Jesus" can hardly be the gate. Or can he?

Your post is a bit confusing may i ask you a question?

A simple yes or no will do please...

Do you personally believe that Jesus Christ Came as GOD in the flesh on earth and that GOD Himself walked amongst men here on earth?

Do you believe that yes or no?

While you would be most correct that Jesus Christ is no gate!! Yet Jesus who from the cross which I believe is our gate, opens to the path we are to follow, the Man Christ Jesus. If you would for a moment consider, just consider this thought I have. Matt 7:13-29 Spoken of earlier in this thread.

Before we can get to the gate,we must first open the door to see the gate.Rev 3:20 And before we can open the door,we must first hear the knock. This comes by this( Rom 10:15-17) Someone is knocking,we usually have to be told someone is.So now that you have been told, you decide, ok, I will open the door. This is done because you wish to know more of not just why he is knocking, but for what purpose to you as well.As you open the door, there is a large cross before you.

This is the narrow gate.( Matt 7:14) Narrow because of the blood shed, few will follow, because few wish to die to themselves in order to follow. If one is bold enough to say I will follow. The cross is removed, and before you is Jesus. He is smiling at you,and you begin from this point to the very time of your death in the flesh,to both learn what love truly is,and!! learn, the true cost in following him.Just HIM!

As you follow, you are tempted, by many around you. Things that have sparkle to the eyes, such as wealth,or goods, perhaps women,or if you are a woman, men. These are paths off of the narrow road you follow. And you can if you wish, go there. But we find by going over there, we lose sight of who we said we are going to follow. And when despair finds us, we cry out why? We blame the person, we ourselves have decided not to follow anymore.

Now our pride is hurt, but see, this is just one lesson on the narrow road we follow. We also find out just what the real cost to follow Jesus truly is! Our flesh does hurt many times! Our mind can grow tired, because we forget what was so clear to us at the start of our following.

The disciples also had this problem, they to at the start were willing to follow, until they knew the cost!( matt 26:56) To follow means,to be with one till the end. A great example of this is made in the Old Testemant. Elisha following of Elijah!( 1 Kings 19) Elisha said let me kiss my mother and father first, then I will follow you. Now take a quick look at the disciples of the new, when they said to Jesus Let me first go and bury my dead before I follow you. ( Matt 8:21-22) Jesus said to him, let the dead bury there own dead!

Yet another disciple said Jesus, let me first say goodby to those at home! Jesus said NO ONE after putting his hand to the plow and looking back,is fit for the kingdom of God.( Luke 9:61-62) Following is hard on the flesh is it not?? Now back to Elisha's ministry.

Much you see happened before this! But in 2 Kings 2 we see what true following truly is!! Elijah said to Elisha verse 2 stay here in Bethel. Elisha said As the Lord lives I will not leave you! See a path off the narrow road.number 1. then a little further down the narrow road,People were tellling our friend Elisha that your master will be taken from you today.Elisha said yes I know, be still!( verse 3)

Yet another path off the narrow road came to sight! Elijah said stay in Jericho.Nope! again in Jordan,NOPE! NOW!!!! the reward for following till the end!!verse 9-11 He saw, he received! So will we if we follow till the end!

To receive anything from the Lord,we must follow him long enough to receive, for if a man leaves, how can he ever know the reward for staying? This is what an overcomer truly is! Talked about more times in Rev then in any other book of the Bible!! Must be a very good reason for this!! Rev 2:7,11,17,26 Rev 3:5,12,21 and finally Rev 21:7!

The longer we stay on the narrow road, the more we are tempted off of it.Do you know why this is? Because the devil knows, what one receives for following till the end! We never will unless we stay!! And follow till the end becoming!!! a TRUE OVERCOMER IN!!!!! JESUS CHRIST!! The first to overcome the devil! What better teacher is there, then our Jesus?? LOL None to me bro!

this is the way i look at it.

(Joh 10:9) I am the door(thoo'-rah): by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

thoo'-rah
Apparently a primary word (compare “door”); a portal or entrance (the opening or the closure, literally or figuratively): - door, gate.

(Joh 10:7) Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door(thoo'-rah) of the sheep.

Blessing to you littlelight, which does not seem so little to me! I am most thankful to the Lord! It really is his wisdom, and never ours, that can change our life, always for the better!

Thanks so much, for telling me,you have no idea how much it means when someone is so encouraged! It is not only why Jesus was sent here, but why we are as well.To have love one for another through HIM! To be a blessing to others, cannot be measured!! Thanks again!!

(John 14: 6, 18-21; 16: 25-26)

John 14:6 Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

1Jn 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
