Have you ever went to a place or a business that when you arrived the door was locked and you didn't have a key?? You desperately needed to enter into that business but couldn't get in because you didn't have the key!

The Lord walked this earth for thirty three years preaching and teaching the kingdom of God! Of the twelve disciples Peter was strong in the Lord.

In Matthew Chapter 16, the Lord chose Peter and gave him the authority to form the church that He was to purchase with His life!

Chapter 16
Verses 18 & 20

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and what so ever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what so ever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

In Luke Chapter 24, verses 44 thru 53 the Lord gave Peter and the rest of the disciples the instructions on what it took for ALL men to have the KEY to be able to enter into the Kingdom of God. He gave Peter keys to pass out to all mankind to be able to enter into the kingdom of God.

Verse 44.
And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45. Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46.And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.
47. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48. And ye are witnesses of these things.
49. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

In verses 50 thru 53 the disciples obeyed the Lord and returned to Jerusalem as commanded and was waiting for the promise of the Father.
In Acts Chapter 1 shows the the disciples remained in Jerusalem as commanded continually praying and waiting for the promise of the Father!
In Acts Chapter 2 the disciples received the promise and in verses 36 thru 40 Peter began passing out the keys to the kingdom!!

36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and unto the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Peter will now OFFER them their key that is required to be able to enter into the kingdom of God!

38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and unto your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Will we let our hearts be hardened by tradition of men, philosophy, vain deceit, and the rudiments of the world and refuse our key to the kingdom?? Will we find ourselves standing before a locked door without a key??

In John Chapter 10 Jesus warns of trying to enter the kingdom without the key!
Verse 1. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber!

Have you got one of the keys to the kingdom that Jesus gave to Peter to pass out, or are you climbing up some other way??

Many churches have manufactured their own way to the kingdom and are not passing out the keys that the Lord commanded Peter to pass out!

Jesus also warns of this!
Matthew Chapter 7
Verse 21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name cast out devils? and In thy name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

They manufactured their own way to heaven and refused the key! Their hearts were hardened and followed after the tradition of men and the rudiments of the world. We can go to church all of our lives, but if we don't have the key ( Acts 2 verse 38) we can't get in!

Folks, this is one door we don't want to find locked without having a key!

Very nice post Hope, the key is Christ Jesus.

Rev. 1:18
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

As well as the Door...

John 10:7
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

He is the key who opens wide, the door for us to come outside
into the sun, into the air, but oftentimes we stay right there
within familiar prison walls, he hears our cry, we hear his calls
to act upon that faith within, and leave our painful life of sin.
