Over the years the media have done a great job combining psychics, medium, esp or extrasensory perception,sorcery, prophets, visions and prophecy into one making them all equal. When they are not. The powers are the same but the source/purpose is different.
How do we distinguish a prophet from a psychic ?
Leviticus 20:6
“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, ******* after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
Leviticus 19:31
“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.
Now I'm not calling you a psychic ( you have not mention your title) or suggesting anything, so please do not be offended. This is serious topic and everyone should be open for discussion.

What do you call yourself/ or the title you hold when/if the police is working with you or any person seeking help ?
I'm sure you did this already, but I'll still share this verse for its very important we test all things.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
It's because of that verse I'm led to ask these questions so bare with me.
I've watch documentaries and read stories of psychics helping the police and they weren't christian but were spiritual/enlighten ( based on the ones I watched, this does not speak for every person with these powers that work with the police ) I never watch the entire segment I would always turn the channel when they go into trance or they say something disturbing. I don't doubt their powers( nor do I doubt yours ) but one thing dawn on me " the devil also knows where those bodies are, cause he put them there."
Famous psychic Sylvia Brown have been parading herself over the years on different network shows helping family members deal with lost or a haunting in their house. I remember her telling one woman not to mourn her dead brother for he was inside her daughter.
How come she did not see 9/11 ?
why didn't her spirit guides tell her to warn us about 9/11 ?
So my last thought is,
Helping solve crimes is important and would put those deserving of punishment in jail/death. I have yet to see a tv show with psychics helping the police before the crime is committed.
Have you ever experience a vision foretelling a crime before it happen?
Or those dealing with crime is mainly after the crime is committed?

sorry with the late reply, had some things i had to do,
what do i call myself? what does others call me? just a simple lady, nothing fancy, just my name, i dont wear a title and prefer not to because i am nothing special, just simple me.
physic sylvia brown is a fraud no doubt, i am sure she uses taror and things like that, to use those cards or the so called oujie board are nothing but dealing with dead spirits that are often bad, yes they will tell you they are helping you, and they may even appear as a bright light and get one to believe in them, and so on. that is something i dont do! i supose the reason she did not see 911 was because the evil spirits she talks top decided not to let her see it. i seen 911 happen, even questioned my preacher on it, he told me it was just a dream and meant nothing. when i seen it i asked him what it meant to see a plane fly into a building, he said it was just a dream. the reason i told him i seen it was because he was going on a mission trip to the UK and i believe it was meant for me to see it to warn him. the very same day he was going to get on the plane it happened, of course he didn't get to go because all the planes were grounded. if i could have done something to stop it i would have, maybe i was suposed to but failed:shock: i also seen a shooting/murder take place in the church parking lot. it scared me so much that i had told my minister i thought my boy friend was gonna kill me, he did show up and my minister called the law, they searched his car but it was him,nor did he have a gun. if only they would come to me with exact dates would help so much better, but i soon left that church because the visions got stronger and stronger, after i left 2 months later a lady and 4 year old daughter were gun downed in the church parking lot. kim and sarah wyatt, her daughter was 4 years old. i cried so much because if i had known the exact date i could have probably saved her and her daughter. i asked a preacher that one time, he told me that true visions of God dont show exact dates or times. guess thats why these physics like mentioned above and like Harold camping are often wrong because they give exact dates.
the answer to your last question is both before and after. i see visions before. i seen the may flood in nashville before it even happened, and i am not perfect because i am a simple human and have the same fears and feelings, and even the same mistakes. i was suicidal for a while because these visions do make one depressed a lot that when i seen the may flood i posted it on a suicidal help forum that it would be a record breaking flood in may and it came true, the may flood did in fact happen, and nashville was flooded, how i knew it was may? i seen mayflowers and the mayflower ship, had mayflower on the side so both together with music city grand ole opry sign, i knew it was in nashville and had something to do with may. i can give anyone the link if they like to view it where i told it would happen before it happened. but i am not here for glory to myself or to make myself famouse or even considered a high authority as i am not,
now those i see happen after they do, with the police cold cases. i can look at a missing person and touch anything they last had, view their files, go to the last place they were seen at and i can both see and feel what they personaly felt. if they were pulled by their hair, i feel the pull, if they were beatin or stabbed i feel the pain. its like i hear them crying and know exactly where they are at. often i can see the auto they were put in, even if they were wrapped up in plastic. the auto tags number, where the plastic came from, etc help the police find them and solve the crime. i dont like doing these after the crimes but if the police get stumped i help them free of charge. my gift comes from God freely and thus i need to give it to others free help which i do.
i am not a prophet, a God, an ANgel, i am simply me. a human being living each day as a true gift of God because one day i will get to go back home. one day all the evil, crimes, sin, hurting, crying, death will all be gone. i make mistakes just like everyone else but i learn from them. God is bending me and shaping me into what he wants me to be, i am the clay and hes the potter. :wink:
