hello guys

Hello guys. before i became a firm believer in jesus. i think i said something bad about a church . we where driving down the road if i remember right when this happened. ive not known fully about the lord or the holy spirit. anyway. i said something bad about a church i called them devil worshipers. i remember the day that peace came to me. i felt so happy and peaceful i swear it was the holy spirit. any way i came to the unpardonable sin in the holy bible and bam i was hit with fear. fear ive never experienced in my live. ive been praying about this alot. i know your not god and cant judge me i was just wondering if you think i blasphemed the holy spirit? please respond .

even jesus said something to my extent but he is god so... he said a synagogue of satan in revelations Revelation 2:9 and 3:9.

IMO you don't need to worry about what you said back then. Just do your best to be led by HolySpirit now and you will do OK.

Words said in the past are in the past, from the moment you actively decided to follow Him earnestly you are steadily working towards being a better version of who you were when that statement was made. All you can do is repent for past actions, acknowledge that mistakes and sins were made, then move forward in your faith.

i never really been rock solid on this but i think the unpardonable is more like if you see a work of the holy spirit, say someone that is healed, and then you say the person used of the holy spirit to do the healing is of the devil or does works of the evil one then that would be unpardonable. maybe idk for sure. so dont hold me to that. but just think about this: all you did is say something bad about a church which is the people. you didnt say nothing directly to the holy spirit or about Him. also all you did was talk bad about some people. that rascal paul said he was chief of sinners and he persecuted the church (the people) physically and God still used him in a big way. i mean how many of the letters did his hand write of the NT? naw, i think you'll will be ok.

even i have done way worse and God still talks to me.

The unpardonable sin

If a person commits the unpardonable sin the Holy Spirit will not call them to repent and they won't worry about sin.

If you have accepted Jesus into your heart and asked God to forgive your sins and believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead and told others that you believe in Jesus, you are a christian for ever.

No no no! You definitely have not, Charlie!

Ok, think for a moment, why is it that it is only the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that can not be forgiven?
Why not the blasphemy against the Father? Or the son?
Why only the Holy Spirit?

Here is why!

The Holy Spirit is the part of God that convicts you of your sin.
So if you fully reject the Holy Spirit, how can you be saved?
You can not be!

The Greek word here translated “blaspheme,” means “intentional indignity offered to God or sacred things.” This is important to grasp. Intent is involved.

The scribes and Pharisees knew exactly what they were doing. Remember, they held a council for the specific purpose of plotting against Christ. Their actions were not a result of sudden anger or impulsive, short-sighted thinking. They had intent—pre-meditated and deliberate INTENT—to discredit and murder Christ, even though they knew He was sent from God and acted through God’s power!

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9

As long as you want to repent, God will certainly grant you forgiveness of your sins.
However, ONLY the Holy Spirit can cause you to repent.
So actually, you being concerned is the ultimate sign you have not committed this sin.
If you had, you certainly wouldn't be worried about it!

Notice this:
"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." - Hebrews 6:4-6

This verse says it is impossible to bring them back to repentance.
So here is the test:
Do you want to repent of what you said about that Church?
Then you can!

You want to repent, i'm sure you already have, and i'm sure God has forgiven you.

Consider the Pharisees who spoke against Christ.
They went so far to kill him, and then after he was resurrected, they made a nasty rumor about how his body had been stolen!
They fully rejected the saving grace of Christ (Holy Spirit) and there for, they could not be brought to repentance.

Their minds had already been completely turned over.
This does not sound like you at all Charlie!

Christianity is not just some game of words such as "Whoops! You said the magic words, now it's all over for you!"
Although Satan would certainly like for you to think that!

Remember, Satan often tried to attack Christ, so he will certainly attack you, too.
When he does, reply to him using the word of God, just like Christ always did.

You really do have nothing to worry about, and I feel very bad you would feel that way. :(
Any time you want to message me with some questions, I am here.

Remember! It is God's will that no man should perish!
The only reason the sin is unforgivable, is because the person who commits the sin, will never repent of it!

Hi, Charlie!

I can make this really simple for you, or I can go into a very long exposition on it, with scripture, my personal testimony, etc.

Right now I will do the former and if you need more info I will give you more. You can always PM me if you want as well.

So the short answer is : NO (so is the long answer!), you haven't committed the unpardonable sin. I agree with everyone's explanations on this.

Just the fact that you're wondering or worried about it means you haven't done it. Because only the Holy Spirit convicts of sin and if you didn't have Him you wouldn't care about whether you did it or not.

Plus, believers that have Christ in them cannot commit that sin. It is very common for Christians to be tempted like you are. I have been viciously attacked by satan, who has been trying to convince me that I did the unpardonable sin.

When he does that, I just remember that he is a liar and comes to steal, kill and destroy. And when he tries to put a lie into my head I calmly tell him that Christ defeated him and Christ is in me and will never let me go.

Just trust God and you'll be fine, and remember that if it is a negative thought it is not from God.

The unpardonable sin / blaspheming the Holy Spirit is a willful on going rejection of Gods Spirit call towards Salvation. If you die in that state ....there's nothing left.

I think its safe to say.....your safe. :shade:

thanks guys yea im really scared. i wasnt meaning that the holy spirit or jesus was bad. i should of never said anything bad about them. i pray i didnt blasphemy the holy spirit by saying that.

Charlie, PM me if you're still scared, because you shouldn't be.

I don't think you have blasphemed the Holy Spirit. In order to do that, you need to be in a position where you have witnessed extraordinary miracles Jesus did and called that the works of the devil. Deep down in your heart you are so convinced that only a supreme being can do that, but, in your defiance of Jesus you still ignore it and called it Satanic just like what the Pharisees did. They saw it and were convinced, but, due to their pride and arrogance, all they want to do is to put Jesus down regardless.

As far as I know, there are 3 unpardonable sins and that is - apostasy, blasphemy (like above), and rebellion against God (rev. 20:7).

Good Morning:

Donnie up above post says it well. There is a deep meaning to the cursing of the Holy Spirit. When a person rejects God, pushes him away, and says to heck with you , go eat a turnip......and puts on the shirt of the world and pushes away God, they are turned over to the way of the world.

But God will not let you go, and at anytime you feel like you have sinned you can just go say, I am sorry and will you help me? Help is always there. It is the one thing that is a fact.

The Holy Spirit is a part of God, not a part of any church or member of any physical world church. You can go tell the preacher he is full of it and get in a fuss, and this is between you and him, the Holy Spirit will enter in and tell both of you to behave.

You are going through a trial. Even in the middle of sincere prayer this little voice will rise and tell you to curse the Holy Spirit. I know so as I have been there and this is Satan playing games.

It will pass. Just ask in Christs name for it to cease and it will.

Not sure what exactly you did, or if the church was right or wrong, guilty or not, but some of them are devils. Many are of the world and not of God at all. We are not to bear them ill will, but not to accept their ways either.

You are fine, if you had sinned against the Holy Spirit, you would not be worried about it. Satan is playing games.

Kit

Also, here is something else to consider, Charlie.
Just Google more information about the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, look up videos on Youtube about it.
There is a good one here on Talk Jesus concerning this matter. You should read it, it's in the Scriptural Bible answers section, under "Unpardonable Sin".

Virtually EVERYONE all agrees, the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the final and permanent rejection to be called to salvation.
Baptists, Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Methodist, Seven-day Adventists, Church of God,...they all believe the same!
I don't think i've ever heard anyone who has studied this subject deep enough, who disagreed that this sin is the final rejection of the Holy Spirit.

So are we all wrong?

I'm sure that right now you "feel" scared and worried.
But your salvation is not based upon "feelings", it is based upon your "belief".

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9

If you believe in Christ, you will be saved!

There's an old boy scout trick, were someone closes their eyes and the other person starts to pinch and rub the palm of their hand.
Then the person starts to pull up on their skin, and it feels like a long string is being pulled from the person's palm.
The person could swear a string is literally being pulled from his hand, because it "feels" that way.
However, when he opens his eyes, he sees their is no string at all.
"The heart (or mind) is deceitful above all things" - Jeremiah 17:9

The Bible makes it very plain that if you ask for forgiveness, you most certainly have it.
So if you have no chance Charlie, then Jesus Christ is a liar.

Something else to consider, have you ever seen the "blasphemy challenge" done on various Youtube videos?
The challenge is, if you do not believe in God, you have to post a video of yourself blaspheming against the Holy Spirit to prove you have fully turned your mind never to be converted!

And do you know how they do this, and what they must say?
They have to say they "deny the Holy Spirit and will never repent"!
Even the atheists recognize that committing this sin involves the permanent rejection of salvation!

There's many people who have committed this sin, and they are careless. I've witnessed this first hand, people who I wondered if they had done this sin. (even though I still have hope they didn't go far enough to commit the sin and will one day repent)
This is far from you, Charlie.

Your fear and concern only shows how serious you are with your faith.
I imagine God can really use someone like you.

Charlie, if you are feeling condemned for what you said it is not coming from Christ but more than likely the enemy.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John3:16

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

i just dont see where it came from or why id say that i love jesus. i fear god. i love and feel blessed to repent. why would i do this. i pray i didnt but it hurts me. im afraid. do you think i committed it?
i dont know why i would say that about a church.
