Hey there

Member
I'm a student, I'm 20 and I live in the North East of England. I study in Cambridge (Education and English). I was recently an atheist but since going to university have been introduced to the idea of faith and am really interested in getting as much knowledge about Christianity as possible. I'm sort of nerdy like that, which is probably why I'm studying where I am :)

Hope to talk to lots of people about faith and forge a path for myself with God!

Jodie

Hello Jodie,

Glad to make your acquaintance. Since your not officially a follower of Jesus Christ the righteous, allow me to introduce you to the gospel that I preach.

In the beginning God created everything including man and everything was perfect and in its place including man. God was God. His Angels were his servants, ministering unto man. Man was the child of God. One particular Angel decided he didn't want to be a servant but the one who was served and fell from his place. He subsequently provoked man in to following him as god through his wife and her weakness for deception. God came and pronounced judgment upon all for each of their roles in disobedience. He also promised the man and his wife that he himself would fix the problem.

What actually happened in the Garden of Eden was the loss of true innocence. Once happy to abide in all Gods righteousness, man transgressed God and by partaking of the fruit his 'eyes' were opened and he could independently decide for himself what 'he' thought to be good or evil. He had become 'like' god but not a god and it put him at enmity with God.

Gods plan to fix things was decided before he ever created the first thing. God would set the stage for his only begotten Son to enter into the world, break the righteous hold of death on man and take the throne as the righteous ruler of all creation and subsequently judging the god of this world, Satan. His plan includes salvation for all of those who he has ever spoken to that have believed what he has said. The importance of this is paramount. The problem in the first place back in Eden was that they didn't believe God but Satan. So it pleased God to save them who believe the foolishness of preaching.

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son. He was manifest as the righteousness of God in the flesh to declare Gods righteousness to man. Jesus lived a sinless life and was sacrificed on the cross of Calvary to break the righteous hold of death on man. Death had no right to take him but also had no choice because of the weakness of Jesus fleshly body. God in turn ressurected him from the dead and exalted him above every name that is named in heaven and in Earth. His pure blood was perfect for the atonement for sin and paid the price for the whole human race.

The problem for the unbeliever is just this. They must be able to admit that they have fallen short of the perfection of a holy God and therefore are headed for judgment before the righteous Son who has been appointed to judge everyone by their works. They must become broken over this sin and come to godly sorrow which brings about works meet for repentance. Having understood their iniquity they need to turn to the God in whom they cannot see and begin to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation.

With the heart a man believes unto righteousness as he sees Jesus is righteous and he conforms to that image of Christ and walks as he walked in the spirit of the living God that he received upon believing. There is no longer any cause of death found in him as his sin is forgiven and the fellowship between God and creature is restored. The new believer is given a new heart for God and is actually a new creation in Christ. He can't help but confess to others that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and this confession is made unto salvation as he proclaims a good witness for Christ in front of many people without fear.

Having kept the faith and lived in the Spirit, mortifying the deeds of the flesh such as adultery, sexual immorality, stealing, hatred, variance, emulations and drunkeness, the believer comes before Christ in judgment and is told "enter into the joy of your Lord, thou good and faithful servant". His eternal life is marked with glory, wonder and pleasure in the presence of God on the new Earth established for the righteous souls who take the knee to Christ as king while dwelling upon the Earth.

Salvation of the believer is about a restored right relationship between God and creature. The creature must submit to the creator and confess that all the creators ways are right no matter what the creatures intellect tells him. The intellect is the enemy of God.

My hope and prayer for you is that God will grant you repentance to the acknowledging of the truth that he is the only one who can decide what is good and what is evil. Your opinion does not count unless it is his opinion. Then....and only then...can I welcome you into the family and become your servant to bring you up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Peace be with you from God our Father,

Gary
