I have read quite a bit on the Internet on whether Jesus died on a wooden cross, an up-rite stake or a stake with three cross member. I guess we will have to wait and see, until one speaks with those who saw Jesus being executed.
What concerns me, is why people have images of crosses and wear them on their personage, when the Bible is quite clear what should be done with idols.
Exodus 20:4, 5: "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them."
Isaiah 42:8: "I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols."
Leviticus 26:1: "You shall not make for yourselves idols , nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God."
John 4:23, 24, clearly says: "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit , and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Spirit and Truth! No were in the bible does it say you must worship God with or through an image, no matter what it is fashioned to look like. As this is what the bible says, why do people continue to use images of the cross, when it is clear God hates them?
Furthermore, if your son was killed by a knife, would you tie a knife around your neck in remembrance of your sons death? I believe when the bible says "No," to images and idols, that is exactly what God want from his worshipers.
