Beware the Rupert!

On June 6th 1944 the D-Day invasion of Europe began, an armada of Allied ships assaulted the beaches of Normandy, France. Simultaneously, thousands of airplanes dropped paratroopers into the action. Along with the paratroopers the Allies also dropped hundreds of rubber dummies behind the enemy lines. Called "Ruperts", these dummies were intended to simulate an attack to confuse the enemy.

As the Ruperts landed, some German outposts were tricked into fighting these "paradummies" creating a vital crack in the walls of Fortress Europe.

We accept that kind of deception as part of a legitimate military operation designed to thwart oppressive forces.
What we should not accept is the deception Satan throws our way. Paul explained to us that the devil "transforms himself into an angel of light".

2.Cor.11:14. and his servants appear to be people who are promoting righteousness. v 15.

We must be alert today! Our spiritual enemy would love to have followers of Christ distracted by false teaching and faulty doctrine. But as we keep our eyes on Jesus and the clear teachings of scripture, our Lord can keep us aiming in the right direction.

Don't be tricked by Satan's Ruperts.

ruperts?

I wonder what would we call a "satan's ruperts" for us Christians?

Perhaps materialism? When most of the world does not hhave a car, or have a house with a bathroom in it. Perhaps it's a wide screen tv, or a PS3, or a computer? I saw in the news about the many starving to death in Africa, I had to change to channel, I was eating, it upset my dinner. (some might say) Those in Africa that have no clean drinking water. We water our lawns with water a person can drink. Should we really concern ourselves about that?

I have many Bibles in my Library. (Ive been a pastor) Yet there are so many people who do not even have a single verse in their native tongue.

Here is a thought about a ruphert in our own back yard. When was the last time you gave something to a needy person? Have you helped in giving to a food bank? Ever bought clothes for some poor person? Have you ever visited someone in your city or county jail? Ever visit some in the hospital, or retirement home? How about helping Meals on Wheels? Ever call your pastor and ask to pray for him and his family. Ever invite your pastor and his wife out for a dinner. Ever have the pastor and his family for dinner at your house?
How do you respond to a visitor in your church? Do you ever call a member that has missed one or two weeks at church?


Rupherts! Rupherts anyone? Ruphers are all over the place, we just need to ask Jesus to see these areas we cam beat satan to being able to discourage others. Rupherts can be a oppertunity for us to minister in Jeusu name. Blessings
