Does God cause sickness as a test?

"Rabbi," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents' sins?" "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. John 9:2&3

Gonna have to disagree with you Quenton. Is this what they teach at Rhema?

Not surprising... Ill have to disagree with you as well on this one

I attended a class that talked about this...i wish i knew what he said exactly maybe I can get that to you when i get there. :)

Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. John 9:6

and than he carried it out...

i'll talk to a friend and see if he has his teaching on this as i don't want to tell you what this means with even the slightest miss on it.

so i will get back to you for that.

I'll be here.

you could respond to my beliefs on healing at any time now....or i can increase it

no he does not has not never will. And you've missed a few of my posts...one i posted twice so you could see it and you never responded to it

So wait wait wait... If you, Quenton, already know the answer to your question as you have just answered it in the quote above... why did you ask to know what others think in the first place?

If you don't agree, and quite obviously don't care, what others say then I suggest you don't ask questions... esp. when you already have your answer.

Let me see if I can explain this to you.... read this if you can:
You asked this question on the very first page (reread your post if you must): Does God cause sickness as a test? what do you think?

With this, you received opinions from others because you did after all ask: what do you think? (reread your first post if you don't remember)

When you ask others what they think, you are asking for their interpretations, their opinions, their understanding, and that is exactly what you got... if you don't want to know what others think.... guess what.... DON'T ASK. Wow.... novel idea, huh? Maybe you should try it out.

You asked in your first post if God uses sickness as a test? Jiggyfly asked you: Are you suggesting that God does not use sickness? (reread the post if you must)

And you answered: no he does not has not never will. (if you know English as you claimed, try learning to use punctuation) I personally know many people who have come to Christ through sickness trials, and many more who have grown closer and stronger to God through/after sickness. Is that not God? Did Satan do that....?

Thus, you've answered your question; did you not?

I just want you to know that God is in control of everything and thus He is able to use everything, even evil, to do His will.
Here's a verse:
"We know that God causes EVERYTHING (everything means every thing. Everything means all things, not just good things, all things)to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes for them" Romans 8:28

Let me restate that (it is from the Bible):
"We know that God causes EVERYTHING to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes for them" Romans 8:28

The LORD works out everything (everything means everything.
Everything means all things, not just good things, all things)to its proper end— even the wicked for a day of disaster. Proverbs 16:4

Let me say that again just in case you missed it (its from the BIBLE):
The LORD works out everything to its proper end— even the wicked for a day of disaster. Proverbs 16:4

Answer me one question Quenton if you can (if you can't, I most definitely understand why you cannot): what do you have to say to both of those verses? DO you really think the Lord is a liar?? Is sickness not included in that "everything", because I'm pretty sure the Bible doesn't say "God causes everything, except for sickness, to work together for good" Does it say that Quenton, does it?

I'm once again sorry for wasting your time with my words because I know you don't care for the things I have said or am saying now... it seems you are much to good for me, much to high above me, I know you are so much better than all those around you, so forgive me for taking up your time... but I couldn't just stand idly by watching you defame (slander, libel) the LORD MY GOD and HIS PERFECT WORD!!

GOD IS in control of everything in this world, in this universe, and in this life! HE made everything! HE created everything! HE is in control of everything! He even created the wicked for their day of disaster! Satan will never be above God, Satan will never have more control than GOD! GOD IS in control of everything, even evil, and when my Lord and savior Jesus Christ returns to this earth, you will see that is true. Do you really think Satan is going to win? GOD created him!!! If you think that Satan has more power than the LORD, may HE have mercy on your soul! EVERY bad thing that comes in to our life has the potential to bring us that much closer to GOD... which is why HE allows those things, and why we are to look upon those things with JOY just like it says in the BIBLE.... HIS written word (you may wanna check it out, James 1:2-4, its in the BIBLE). My GOD is in total and COMPLETE control. I don't know what God you worship. But my GOD only brings me good and beneficial things in my life.... even if I can't see that good right now. I know that HE controls it and uses it ALL for my good, even evil, BECAUSE HE SAID SO... and when CHRIST returns, I shall see just how GREAT and GOOD HE IS. If you do not believe this, I cannot help you... Only the Lord can soften hardened hearts...

May God bless you because you surely need it.

In Christ's name,

In Christ's name,

I'll give you a hint on why...

wicked means the world not sickness

So everything means everything except sickness right??

And, there is no rudeness, I am just trying to help.... that is only your assumption... who was it that was just talking about not assuming things, hmmmm???

Just as I expected, you couldn't answer the questions!! That's all I needed to know lol!

Adios!

I wonder why many often think of the things which cause the flesh discomfort as being evil?
...and here is your reply to my post

how does God use evil? ...and od you go to the doctor when your sick? this is for anyone saying God uses these things to test.

Some questions.........

AudreyNicole:
GOD IS in control of everything in this world, in this universe, and in this life! HE made everything! HE created everything! HE is in control of everything! He even created the wicked for their day of disaster! Satan will never be above God, Satan will never have more control than GOD! GOD IS in control of everything
some questions.....

Pro 16:4
The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Col 1:16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Deu 32:39
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

God is in control of everything???

This is where the disconnect has been. As young as you are in the Word, it would do you better to ask questions, and not assume things. So, I will ask you questions.

God created everything, and everything he created was by him and for him..... I think we agree on that.

1) If God is in complete control of sickness, and humanity, then what choice does man have?

2) Would it be possible to have something God created to go astray, or not follow God?

3) Could we read Proverbs 16:4 this way... The Lord has made all things for himself, even those that went astray into judgement?

Now explain these scriptures.....

Jer 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

Why would the Lord have to repent?? (According to you God is in complete control, and man should not have had a choice to change God's mind.

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Why would it grieve God to make man if according to you He is in control of everything??

Exo 32:14
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. (Just one of many scriptures)

When seeking help for his son, the Father went to Jesus and asked for help... Why did Jesus say this to him?

Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

If God is in control why would believing something have any effect or be important??

Luk 8:50
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

Was what Jairus believed important to his Daughters well being, Or did Jesus just make this up to confuse us??

If God is in control of everything, and Satan does not have a say in anything..... but what God allows him to do, then why these scriptures??

Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

What happens if we do give place to the devil?? what happens if we don't resist the devil, but just buckle under.??

Is God's will just somehow worked out for us, even if we ignore this?

If God is in Control of everything, then why is Satan mentioned as being the
"god of this world"??

Being god of something means control..... could this scripture be wrong...???

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Why would it effect those that believe not, if God is in charge of everything?? Could believing something be important??

"We know that God causes EVERYTHING (everything means every thing. Everything means all things, not just good things, all things)to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes for them" Romans 8:28

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Is this scripture just about ALL good things and everything as you have mentioned, or is this talking about Praying in the Spirit and making intercession for the saints that are in the will of God, being called according to his purpose??

Why Omit the scriptures above and below this??

I seriously don't expect you to be able to answer these....... but will be impressed if you try.

Jesus Is Lord.

"Rabbi," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents' sins?" "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. John 9:2&3

Based on my experience as a recovering alcoholic who was delivered miraculosly by God after thirty years of drinking, I'd say that the healing of that blind man coming when it did gave him a more purposeful and glorious testimony and a deeper appreciation for the grace that was poured out on him that day than he would have had at any earlier time. It was a matter of timing and God's timing is perfect.

i have been to counseling, have been on meds, prayered for, fasted, and stood on the word of God, yet my depression, anxiety, and paranoia still is with me after many years. my point is this if God is not in this, then He must not care at all about me. or i am quite sure one or more will say it is my fault or a lack of faith on my part, if He is not in control who is satan, then would satan be equal to God, I know that that is not possible, God created satan with the full knowledge of what he would do(satan), but God has to be in this, or what hope do i have. if He is not with me in this then what is the point . what more must i do, i know send some of my money to a name and claim ministry. that should work, maybe i can by my healing. so please do not tell me God does not use this, because it has broken up my family, my kids want nothing to do with me, so im am alone, and if God is not in this with me, maybe a bullet in my brain is the answer

Alas! Now I see how God has been using this thread to help me. Praise God smitty! My very greatest desire is to help others through Christ and I was trying to do that on this thread; but I left this thread feeling unwanted and humiliated, by the church of all people. I previously posted my thoughts and feelings and, as you can see, they were not taken very well. I thought something was wrong with me, wrong with my understanding of the Lord. I read and re-read every verse I could about this subject, and prayed that the Lord would open my eyes to the proper understanding because I couldn't see where I was going wrong. This is why I despise threads like this because they do nothing to edify the church, if anything they end up hurting brothers and sisters like you..... but don't worry, I see how God is using it now. Just keep reading...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have claimed from the very beginning that God does in fact use every bad thing to help us. And, after last night, I know for a fact that He does... He told me. I went to my Bible study group last night and guess what the topic was: Does God use affliction to help us? Can you say coincidence... or better yet, can you say GOD! Everything we talked about was everything I believed about suffering and afflictions and I was only reassured that yes indeed God does use every bad thing to help us. I was so excited I broke down in tears, because God answered my prayer and blessed me with the assurance and understanding I was looking for.

But it doesn't stop there. Guess what happened next. The Lord introduced me to a manic depressive young man in our group. Can you say GOD, again! We talked with him and he told me that through this affliction not only has he grown stronger, he has greater faith, and he remains hopeful that the Lord is using this and, one day, will deliver him. He said that he has many friends that are going through similar trials and others, and that in them he sees great potential for God to work... and that's the thing, God uses even the worst of things to lift us up and work in us and others.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smitty, I just want you to know that God is in your life right now, He is in control of this, and He will one day deliver you with a stronger faith and greater understanding of Him. In John 9:16 Jesus heals a blind man and He says the Lord made him that way so that He could glorify Himself through him. The same is true for you. The Lord has allowed this condition in your life that He may reveal Himself through you. He has allowed this in your life, because He wants to help you become more like Christ.

Look at 2 Corinthians 1:3:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

The Lord has allowed this in your life that YOU may thus go out and comfort others with the comfort you've received from Him. The Lord has allowed this in you life so that YOU can share in the suffering of Christ and be more like Him. The Lord allowed this in you life for your comfort and salvation. And through this He is working to produce a patient endurance and strengthen your compassion. How wonderful is that truth! Not only do we have that hope and that knowledge, we have His promise: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Look at this passage from James:
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

You can not only be hopeful, but joyful in the knowledge that the Lord is indeed using this to help you! You are facing a trial, a testing of faith, but hallelujah a testing of faith produces perseverance! And when this trial is completed you will be more mature and closer to completion! How wonderful is that truth?

I know this is a difficult time for you, and unfortunately there are many that would discredit the abilities and authority of the Lord. But I just want you to know that He is working in you and He is making you better. I have been dealing with an issue in my life for quite a long time, and it can be easy to wonder why this is happening? I look around and I see others healed, I see others getting answered prayers, I see others receiving blessings, and I ask... God, when will it be my turn? But the Lord only keeps reassuring me that He is still working and after all this time, I know whatever He's doing must be something amazing. Smitty the Lord is doing the same in your life. We can be assured in the fact that these afflictions only last for a season. The Lord will deliver you... that is an absolute fact! But know that for now He is still working on you; He is still doing something amazing up there and in your heart; it is not quite yet your time, but I know that He must be doing something amazing for you! If you were only sick for a week, and then healed, your faith would not be very strong. But if you were sick for 5 years and then healed, your faith would be great! The Lord has His own sweet and perfect timing, and He will be working until that hour to help you fix this. Just think of the great testimony you'll have! That's what I always do :)

My youth group works with children with disabilities, and I work in a hospital with sick children. The most faithful people I know are these "sick" kids... why, because God has been using their weakness for His glory. Sometimes as humans we think God uses our strengths most effectively... but He can use our weaknesses for even greater things, because that way it is all Him and none of us... it is all His strength and none of ours. This may be a weakness in your eyes, but in God's eyes it is a strength because He can work in you all the more! I feel that the more trials we are dealt, the more opportunities we have to get closer to God. With every single bad thing that happens in my life, I am brought to a greater reliance upon HIM! And quite frankly, if God can use the blind man that greatly, then Lord... make me blind!

It is when we are weak, that we are strong in Christ. It is when we are suffering, that we are strengthened in faith. This affliction in your life is not your fault; it is not because of sin; it is not a lack of faith... This affliction in your life is an opportunity for God to use you in the most incredible ways. It is your job to allow Him to do that. Offer up this weakness for God to use as a strength. Offer up yourself for God to use as a testimony. Offer up yourself as Christ did on the cross for God to use to glorify His precious name. You are His child, you have this potential, and God will most definitely use it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Father,
I am most thankful for the things you have taught me through this thread and this forum, and the way you have assured me of Your great and perfect power. I now see the point in this and am so grateful for the way in which you've been able to use it, and now I only hope that you've been able to speak to smitty through these words, and that You would only continue to speak to him and comfort him. Father, we know not why we face the things we face, but we do know that You use all things for our good. I am not sure what You are doing in this mans life, or why this affliction has been brought on him, but I do know that You are doing something great and that You are using this suffering to glorify Your great name. Lord, I ask that You would deliver this man from this trial and open his eyes to see the ways in which you have used it... but until that day, dear Father, I pray that You would be strengthening this man in faith, in patience, in compassion, in love, in joy, in perseverance, and in You! When we are weak, You are strong Father; use his weakness as Your strength! In Christ's name, Amen.

God Bless you and I do hope my words have been of some comfort!

In Christ's name,

from a certain perspective, can't we say that ALL OF THIS LIFE is a test?

And if that's true...then part of that test would be sickness, as well as health. Richness, as well as poorness. Strength, as well as weakness.

And neither ends of any of those spectrums should be viewed, necessarily, as good or bad...and I think this is where we go awry. We like to put things in boxes. It's "good". It's "bad". And sickness, by all human reasoning, appears to be "bad". I get that.

But is it really bad? We all know that no one gets out of this world alive. Birth is the leading human cause of death. It's a given.

So...sickness is ultimately inevitable. And to a certain extent...while it's certainly an interesting discussion...I'm not sure it really matters who "causes" sickness. God? Satan? Some other 3rd answer? Allows? Purposes? ...whatever...

The real question is what do we do with it? How do we handle it? Who do we turn to when we become sick?

Will we praise Him no matter what? Will I praise Him no matter what? Will you? Did Job?

Did God's Son turn to His Father, even in the garden? Yes. Yes. Yes...

And thank God He did. It's our hope. It's our example. It's our path...to show us that we can too.

But will we?

ps: editing to add this ---- One other thought on this...

In Gen 3, there was a reason God kicked us out of Eden and had the doors guarded by 2 heavenly hosts. The reason was that we wouldn't then eat of the Tree of Life and live forever. And this was a dramatic act of grace on our behalf. We live in a fallen world...we all know that. We live outside of Eden. We live outside of what God designed for us.

And if we were to have eaten of the Tree of Life after we ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil...that would be tragic. Tragic. We would live in a fallen state of being into eternity.

So...sickness? Death?

It is ultimate grace. Thank God for it. Even though it is painful and horrifying to the human mind...the final chapter is what??? Beautiful!

Thank God we live in a world full of sickness and death. This is not our ultimate place to live for eternity. We have a sure-fire plan to get off this world. It's a temporary place for us.

I previously posted my thoughts and feelings and, as you can see, they were not taken very well. I thought something was wrong with me, wrong with my understanding of the Lord.

You refused to answer my questions because you can't... Your to young in the word to do so...
I gave you the opportunity to explain your position, and you failed to respond..

Does God use affliction to help us? Can you say coincidence... or better yet, can you say GOD! Everything we talked about was everything I believed about suffering and afflictions and I was only reassured that yes indeed God does use every bad thing to help us.

You also failed to give one scriptures that mentions sickness and God using that to help us in any way.. You only mentioned scriptures that mentions there will be trails to be overcome... and the bible says it's our faith that overcomes This World... Look at what S.I.E Posted..
Not one scripture mentions that God is the author of these trials except the children being led in the desert, and Jesus taken to be tested, but none of those trails used sickness.

from a certain perspective, can't we say that ALL OF THIS LIFE is a test?

This man lost his family, This man is talking about a bullet in his brain... and you say that is our God??? Really???

Jesus went about healing all that were sick and oppressed of the devil... Sickness is from the thief and Jesus plainly stated the kingdoms can not be divided.... Not one scripture AudreyNicole where God uses sickness to teach us anything... Not a single one, and yet being so young you refuse to learn... and worse.. someone that needs help you tell him it's our God that is involved..

amazing..

Jesus Is Lord.

I would like to say, my Heavenly Father the giver of life and creator of everything do no not make us sick or allow us to be sick to test us.

We need to stop that foolish doctrine that everything " it's God's will, " This one died of cancer it was God's will, that one died of a heart attack God's will. Whenever someone dies we automatically say it's God's will. Nem, Nem Nem..

When will we little humans realize we're killing ourselves. We choose not to live according to his laws, there's a reason why he said ..Remember the sabbath. He didn't say remember not to kill or steal. Our bodies need rest and he the creator and my heavenly Father knows this. We no longer eat how he instructed. We consume foriegn objects , synthetic drugs and never once question these doctors or these specialist. Marijuana is a natural plant created by God , we allow the elite to tell us its unhealthy/illegal. But you can buy cigarette and smoke as many as you like. We wear blinders to the fact that its money not health, that if marijuana is to become legal people will medicate themselves naturally and the pharmaceutical industry will lose. Why take zoloft when you can make tea from natural herbs? The lie that it will increase crime is hogwash, if marijuana is legalize it will be regulated. An age limit for purchase in stores can be in place, as they do for alcohol. Drug dealers will lose business, less money spent to house non violent petty marijuana "crimes". No one will never know the true health benefit of these herbs or any other herb God created, because we have chosen man made over God made.

We vaccinate our babies with ingredients we can not pronounce, never questioning side effects. We support war and never wonder what fumes or deathly chemicals are being released into our water supply and air supply when these weapons are being made and being used. We expose ourselves to radiation with our high tech gadgets.
We pay for water when it's suppose to be free. We pollute the water and pay to have it clean. We fly in planes never questioning or caring the effects the gases and smoke that releases have on the environment. We have 2 or more vehicles for one household, the pollution and damage we create.

We eat scavengers of the sea and expect to give birth to healthy babies and live healthy lives. We eat unclean meat and animals with growth hormones. We consume genetically modified organism and call them fruits and vegetables. We allow them to use fertilizers and other chemicals for our food to have a nice appearance.

Lets recap.
We don't grow our own food or have access to clean water
We are vaccinated from birth
We can smoke cigarette and not consume a natural herb
We are drugged up
We never ask what is Fluoride ? Why we don't have a choice if it's in our drinking water or not ? And who gave these people the right to say we need Fluoride in our water ?
We expose ourselves to radiation
We support activities that pollute our air and water supply
We don't rest
We never question the fumes released from airplanes
We no longer eat raw foods
We still believe HIV is a natural disease caused from having sex and that it could never be man made, or some nuclear experience or vaccine test gone wrong.
We pride ourselves in stories of men visiting the moon whether it's a true story or not, without asking what affect do these modern rockets have on our environment and the universe.
We think all natural disasters are from God, never wondering if bombs trigger these earthqaukes, or from satelllite radiation or from radioactivity.

With all the things we do and permit, is it still God allowing us to be sick ..or us exercising OUR FREE WILL, by acting like ungrateful kids who participate in daily activities that will kill us and our babies. WE make ourselves sick not God. We choose to eat crap, we choose to be ignorant and not ask "why". We choose not to control where our food comes from. We choose to be modern and industrial and neglect farming. Life and death have always been our choice. I should not have vegetables from isreal in my market, it should be local. I should not find fish from china in my market. We abandon the simple life to be modern and therefore leaving everything to be outsource. Women went from sewing their own garments to buying it from factories that have child laborers.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

If nothing I said make sense I challenge you to go to a toxicologist and get tested and find out the poisons inside your body.

This is a response to the original question, and please do not over look everything I said to give your opinions on marijuana, start another thread and stick with the topic at hand. Which is "Does God cause sickness as a test"

You refused to answer my questions because you can't... Your to young in the word to do so...
I gave you the opportunity to explain your position, and you failed to respond..

I pointed in the Word where sickness only purpose was to destroy us.. Not to help us.. You ignored that...

The reason I didn't answer is because what you believe and what I believe are two different things. I believe that God can use anything and everything to help me... I don't know what you believe. I have been through sickness in my life and grown closer to God; I've seen with my eyes that way God can use sickness to help me, and help others... because He has. If you think I am wrong, so be it, I don't really care what you think because you are not my God. And quite frankly what you believe does not matter to me and my relationship with God.

Also, I feel your responses have been harshly critical and very hurtful and I try to keep myself from people that hurt my feelings. The things you have said have been just plain rude and I have no need in my life for rude people. Also, I don't quite understand the things you say.... your wording makes it difficult and it seems you keep mixing things up. And perhaps it is because I am young... if so let it be. I'd rather be like a child in Christ than a old blind pharisee with a hardened heart.

I've explained my thoughts and my reasoning and if you can't see that than I can't do anything about that. You can continue to bicker and prod all you want but I wont take part, and thus, wont answer your questions. I am not helping you, and you are not helping me.... I will spend my time helping people that I can and staying away from those I can't. My job is to edify the church. I believe that I am growing in Christ and that the knowledge I have is from God, and nothing you can say or do can change that.

You be happy in your beliefs, and I'll be happy in mine. God Bless!

I certainly agree... I feel that every "bad" thing in life is an opportunity to grow closer to God!

Awesome.

You think if I drop my cigarette while driving and I go to look for while I smash my car into a tree is God trying to get me closer to him... or is it me just being dumb??

Well said rizen1 Someone versed and mature in the Word...

and edification is telling someone who lost their family and thinking about a bullet to the brain is for God's use and purpose??

Your thoughts and your reasoning have yet to have answered What scripture is there that God uses sickness for his own good. It was designed to kill you if you read Deut 28:

Why did Jesus go and Heall ALL that were sick and oppressed of the devil, if Sickness could have helped them in some way?

Your mixing things we go through in this cursed earth which we are told to overcome by faith and pinning it all on God, and accusing him of things that are not even in the scripture...

Don't feel bad....... Please... I enjoy when someone like Jiggfly pins me to the carpet with scriptures and makes me actually examine them and possibly change my stance on things... It's why we are here, and if we can't answer then it's a good sign we need to change some ways we believe..

Forum Rule number 7

Jiggyfly quoted:
This is not about what I believe it is about you posting the scriptures that support the belief you posted earlier. If you don't have scripture to post then just say so and in the future refrain from saying something is scriptural supported without posting the supporting scriptures. (This is a forum rule)

This man lost his family, This man is talking about a bullet in his brain... and you say that is our God??? Really???.

and worse.. someone that needs help you tell him it's our God that is involved.

So...I stand accused of calling out the fact that God is involved.

Yes, BM, I am Guilty-As-Charged!!!

So, what's your answer? You are giving the devil way way way too much credit, and taking away the beauty of God's sovereignty.

You think the devil would chosen to have the Tree of Life to be cut off from us? You think the devil would have even thought of that? You think sickness and death was the devil's plan? The devil would want us to live in this in-between state forever!! The devil's ultimate demise is ensured by our temporal states of being, here on this earth, BM.

He lacks the brilliance, creativity, and intestinal-fortitude to have planned the Earth in the way that God did, when God chose for this to be a temporary thing.

And you want to call that the work of the Devil.

Again, you want to prescribe denial.

And you're worried about smitty??? If you really want to help smitty, tell him the truth of it...don't tell him to live in denial, and give the devil the credit for his pain. Tell him to lean into God. Tell him to get mad at God. Tell him to cry out, with all his heart, to God. Tell him to yell at God. Why? Because that's what will ultimately heal him, BM.

I trust that God can handle anything smitty would bring to Him. And you want to protect smitty of that. You think you're protecting God from those accusations. You're not. You're protecting the devil by pointing the finger in the wrong direction.

smitty: sorry to talk about you in the 3rd person here. You have my empathy and my prayers. I think you will find healing by bringing your heart, in all its current pain, before the throne...and speak out on where you're at and how you're feeling. Trust in God enough to be completely honest and real with Him. I believe you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

If God does not allow it but it exist then God must not be able to prevent it. You seem to think that sickness is beyond God's control and power.
We seem to disagree, I believe God is sovereign.
