There are a lot of divided opinions on talk Jesus. Is this one of them.Just want to know.

I would hope we can all agree on this one. There are a lot of secondary issues on here that we discuss/debate. Some of them are more important than others. However, there are certain essentials of the faith that cannot be skewed without having a skewed understanding of salvation, resulting in a lack of salvation. I haven't really seen too many on here skewing the gospel. I'm sure some have come and gone but it doesn't appear to be a huge issue from what I have seen.

The Holy Bible has the last say. If we would use Gods Scriptures, asking the Lord to open our understanding how could true christians really disagree on what God has already said?

And yet, there are thousands of different interruptions about different scriptures.

I personally have been wrong about certain meanings of Gods word in the past. When I prayed and ask the Lord to open my willingness to hear the truth - suddenly, I began to see what God had wanted me to see all along.

The preacher, grandpa and grandma, or even our parents may not always be right on what they believe.

But God is always right.

That is why christians need to hold each other up daily in prayer for each other.

This is partially because many people don't really understand what the Bible is saying because they can't understand the language. I'm not talking about cryptic messages of one's culture. I'm talking about Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. I read and English Bible. It is the best possible Bible for me as I don't speak any other language. However, this does not mean it is the best possible Bible period. The best possible Bible is one written in the original languages. In order for us to really understand what the Bible is saying requires us to at least gain somewhat of an understanding of the original languages and then employ that knowledge in our interpretation. Too many interpretations mesh fully with the English but fall fatally short in the Greek.

The Gospel.

Fully agree with Mr Rojocolo. Good thread on Ephesians, read it.

The Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is far beyond any dispute.

In fact, agreement is more like 99% on most Christian doctrine.

Usually, there is very little to disagree about with Christians who read the Bible regularly.

Hello JamesG.

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. And that he was buried. And that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. And that he was seen by Peter; then by the disciples. After that, he was seen by about five hundred people.

That is the Gospel JamesG.

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don't drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God's servant to proclaim it. Col.1:19-23

The Gospel is in bold.

The Gospel

As in the conquering of the land of inheritance for Israel it was said, "the Lord your God, He will go over before you:" your peace and victory in Christ is the witness of your forerunner's resurrection and ascension, wherein your inheritance is guaranteed, "as the Lord lives," who is gone over before you to secure your claim to it, according to the faithfulness of the LORD's promises and the integrity of His Word!

For who is worthy to mediate the "everlasting covenant" of God, but the Lord who has led by example and who has survived His own judgment through the sacrifice of Himself for the salvation of the church unto the glory of God! The man, Jesus Christ, who fulfills our end of the covenants before the LORD, inasmuch as the corruption of the nature of flesh has made us incapable (total depravity); and Immanuel ("God with us"), who has revealed the faithfulness of the LORD and the example of the fullness of His love shed abroad for our glory (irresistible grace). Blessed be the LORD our God "who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven..."

For the glory of Egypt was sacrificed to deliver God’s people from the house of bondage, serving as a symbol of the cross of Jesus Christ (For it is written, "I gave Egypt for your ransom…since you were precious in my sight…I gave men for you, and people for your life!"). Again in the next generation, being led by Joshua to the land of their inheritance, after the former generation died off in their sins for their rebellion against God; this serves as another manifestation of the cross, for Jesus Christ suffered as a sinner in order to warn against the judgment of sin and show the sanctity of God’s Word.

Together we see a marvelous depiction of the baptism of the Old Testament (compare to Romans chapters 6-8), wrought by God Himself and not by mans’ works of the law: Israel redeemed by the hand of God through Moses, descends through the Red Sea sanctifying them apart from Egypt (the house of bondage) and unto Himself; this generation of Israel dying in their sins along with Moses on this side of the Jordan; ascends out of the Jordan as a new creature/generation led by Joshua (the same root name in Hebrew as Jesus!) to seize their inheritance given by the grace of God!

part 2

Stand fast in the amazement of the abundance of His mercies and miracles accomplished before your very eyes and in the very midst of you, knowing that some had tasted of these fruits and turned away from this calling, having forfeit their entrance into the rest of God. And knowing that scripture says that the events which happened unto Israel throughout their exodus where examples unto the church, what is the current testament's warning concerning this parallel?

"Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be you idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur you, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that think he stands take heed lest he fall. There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge you what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What say I then? that the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that you should have fellowship with devils. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not."

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinks in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God: But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned."

A warning is given to those who have tasted of the "firstfruits" of God's righteousness in grace. For to partake of God's offering, and so enter into covenant with Him, and render nothing unto God, is to betray Christ. For to enter into covenant, and then backslide, is to have broken the covenant to which your life is bound. Israel is an example unto the church in that they have betrayed the covenant to which they where enjoined, and their redeemer being refused of them, was accepted of the Gentiles, the unclean, the afflicted and the outcasts (and so though He was sent unto "the lost sheep of Israel," in that He was cast off as an unclean thing and called a sinner, He is become the salvation of the Gentiles, and the unclean, and the sinners. For it is as though a Gentile must become a Jew, and a Jew must admit himself a Gentile and a sinner in order to partake of the salvation offered through Jesus Christ of Nazareth!), and so is the establishing of the church of God upon this cornerstone

("Jesus said unto them, Did you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet."). For the Jews in ignorance have betrayed only the "tenor" of the words of their covenant, the fullness thereof is Christ, the Word of God, and so, "whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Behold God's faithfulness in honoring that covenant despite their sins throughout all their generations, and be confident in the great and enduring mercy of God. However, lest you should fail your covenant in the very Word of God as did they by the mere "tenor" of His words, see to it that you do better in honoring God and obeying His Word. For if the revelation of the love and grace of God is evident through the example of Israel, so also is the revelation of the fear of God upon the realization of the severity of His judgments upon those that abandoned His Word! "For He that spared not His own Son..." works both ways; expressing simultaneously the fullness of God's love and the severity of His judgment.

the gospel

how a man, woman and child is saved from there sins.
what does it mean to believe in the gospel.? to believe means to trust, put faith in adhere to, receive. personal trust in the lord Jesus Christ in what he has done saves the soul. [this belief is not just head knowledge in ones head,] but faith in ones heart. for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;( Jesus) and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ( Romans 10:10).
the gospel of Jesus Christ, Christ died, was buried, and rose again the third day.

moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. for I delivered unto you first of all which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried , and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures"( 1st Corinthians 15:1-4).IN WHOM YOU ALSO TRUSTED , AFTER THAT YOU HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION: IN WHOM ALSO AFTER THAT YOU BELIEVED, YOU WERE SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE. Ephesians 1:12-13). THAT THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF GLORY, MAY GIVE UNTO YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM. Ephesians 1:17).

but I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:11-12).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of god to salvation to everyone that believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of god.

But as many as received him, JESUS) to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: john 1:-12}.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. john 1:13}.

JESUS said this in the book of Luke (24:44-47). Then he said to them, these are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of MOSES and the PROPHETS and the PSALMS must be FULFILLED." then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and said to them, THUS IT IS WRITTEN, that the CHRIST should SUFFER and on the THIRD DAY RISE FROM THE DEAD, and that REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS of SINS should be PROCLAIMED IN HIS NAME TO ALL NATIONS, BEGINNING FROM JERUSALEM.

REPENTANCE IS A CHANGE OF HEART/mind WHICH CAUSES YOU TO TURN TOWARD GOD AND AWAY FROM YOUR PRESENT SINFUL WAY OF LIFE, AND TURNING TO CHRIST FOR FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS.
TESTIFYING BOTH TO THE JEWS, AND ALSO TO THE GREEKS, REPENTANCE TOWARD GOD, AND FAITH TOWARD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. acts 20:21). BUT SHOWED first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the gentiles, that they should REPENT AND TURN TO GOD, AND DO WORKS MEET SUITABLE) FOR REPENTANCE. ACTS 26:20).

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted, but the sorrow of the WORLD PRODUCES DEATH. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10.

2. Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of GOD leads you to repentance. Romans 2:4 Why do we need a savior, God says for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23}.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by Sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have SINNED. Romans 5:12}.

FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH;" Romans 6:23}.

For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Ecclesiastes 7:20}.

WE need JESUS because of our heart condition. THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, AND DESPERATELY WICKED: WHO CAN KNOW IT?" Jeremiah 17:9).

FOR FROM WITHIN, OUT OF THE HEART OF MEN, PROCEED EVIL THOUGHTS, ADULTERIES, FORNICATIONS, MURDERS, THEFTS, COVETOUSNESS, WICKEDNESS, DECEIT, LASCIVIOUSNESS, AN EVIL EYE, BLASPHEMY, PRIDE, FOOLISHNESS: ALL THESE EVIL THINGS COME FROM WITHIN, AND DEFILE THE MAN. mark 7:21-23).

GOD SAID THESE PEOPLE WHO DIE IN THESE SINS WILL NOT GET INTO HEAVEN.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, Hatred, Variance, emulations, Wrath, Strife, Seditions, Heresies, Envying, Murders, Drunkenness, Revel lings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. GALATIANS 5:19-21).

BUT the FEARFUL, and UNBELIEVING, and the ABOMINABLE, and MURDERS, and WHOREMONGERS, and SORCERERS, and IDOLATERS, and all LIARS, shall have their part in the LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH. revelations 21:8).

AND even as they did not like to retain GOD in their KNOWLEDGE, GOD gave them over to a REPROBATE mind, to do those things which are not CONVENIENT; being filled with all UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, FORNICATION, WICKEDNESS, COVETOUSNESS, MALICIOUSNESS; FULL OF ENVY, MURDER, DEBATE, DECEIT, MALIGNITY; WHISPERERS BACKBITERS, HATERS OF GOD, DESPITEFUL, PROUD, BOASTERS, INVENTORS OF EVIL THINGS, DISOBEDIENT TO PARENTS, WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING, COVENANT BREAKERS, WITHOUT NATURAL AFFECTION, IMPLACABLE, UNMERCIFUL:

WHO KNOWING THE JUDGMENT OF GOD, THAT THEY WHICH COMMIT SUCH THINGS ARE WORTHY OF DEATH, NOT ONLY DO THE SAME, BUT HAVE PLEASURE IN THEM THAT DO THEM. Romans 1:28-32).

"FOOLS MAKE A MOCK AT SIN. proverbs 14:9}.

AND AS IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE, BUT AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT:. Hebrews 9:27).

AND THIS IS WHY A MAN AND A WOMAN DO NOT COME TO JESUS FOR SALVATION. AND THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION: THAT LIGHT Jesus) IS COME INTO THE WORLD, AND MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN THE LIGHT, BECAUSE THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL.

FOR EVERY ONE THAT DOETH EVIL HATETH THE LIGHT, NEITHER COMETH TO THE LIGHT, LEST HIS DEEDS SHOULD BE REPROVED.

BUT HE THAT DOETH TRUTH COMETH TO THE LIGHT, THAT HIS DEEDS MAY BE MADE MANIFEST, THAT THEY ARE WROUGHT IN GOD. john 3:19-21).

A warning from GOD to those that don't believe in the gospel and why.

In whom the god Satan), of this world hath BLINDED the minds of them which BELIEVE NOT, least the light of the GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, who is the IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE UNTO THEM.{2 Corinthians 4:4}.

Because of our SIN, we DESERVE DEATH, ETERNAL PUNISHMENT, the WRATH OF GOD. But GOD, because he loves us, has provided a means to have eternal life with him. that means is the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

BUT GOD commendeth his love toward us, in that, while WE were yet SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US." Romans 5:8).

FOR CHRIST also hath once SUFFERED for SINS, the JUST for the UNJUST, that he might bring us to GOD, being put to DEATH in the FLESH, but quickened by the SPIRIT."(1 peter 3:18).

what will the blood of JESUS do?
WHOM GOD hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD." Romans 3:25).

UNTO him that LOVED us, and WASHED us from our SINS IN HIS OWN BLOOD", revelation 1:5).

AND the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin."(1 JOHN 1:7).

IN whom we have redemption through his BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS." Ephesians 1:7).

AND having made PEACE through the BLOOD OF HIS CROSS, by him to RECONCILE all things unto HIMSELF," Colossians 1:20).

MUCH MORE THEN, BEING NOW JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, WE SHALL BE SAVED FROM WRATH THROUGH HIM." Romans 5:9).

AGAIN you must RECEIVE HIM. nobody is born into salvation you must be BORN AGAIN OF GODS SPIRIT.

BEING BORN AGAIN, NOT OF CORRUPTIBLE SEED, BUT INCORRUPTIBLE, BY THE WORD OF GOD, WHICH LIVETH AND ABIDETH FOR EVER.(1 peter 1:23).

THAT if thou shalt confess with thy MOUTH the LORD JESUS, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that GOD hath RAISED him from the DEAD, thou shalt be SAVED. FOR with the HEART MAN believeth unto RIGHTEOUSNESS; Jesus) and with the MOUTH CONFESSION is made unto SALVATION. FOR the SCRIPTURE saith, WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH ON HIM SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED.

FOR WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the LORD SHALL BE SAVED. Romans 10:9-13).

DEAR soul, you cannot earn the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD by good DEEDS, CHURCH MEMBERSHIP, SACRAMENTS, BAPTISM, or ANYTHING that YOU DO. IF YOU DO SOMETHING FOR IT, then it is SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

THE BIBLE SAYS, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY HE SAVED US." Titus 3:5).

BUT to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for RIGHTEOUSNESS." Romans 4:5).

EVEN the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD which is by FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST UNTO ALL AND UPON ALL THEM THAT BELIEVE." Romans 3:22).

FOR by grace are you SAVED through FAITH; and that not of YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT of GOD: not of WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST. Ephesians 2:8).

know you not that the UNRIGHTEOUS shall not inherit the KINGDOM OF GOD. BE NOT DECEIVED: NEITHER FORNICATORS, NOR IDOLATERS, NOR ADULTERERS, NOR EFFEMINATE, NOR ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND, NOR THIEVES, NOR COVETOUS, NOR DRUNKARDS, NOR REVILERS, NOR EXTORTIONERS, SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.(1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

AND the WICKED SHALL BE TURNED INTO HELL" psalm 9:17).

AND WHOSOEVER WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. revelations 20:15).

MY prayer is that you go to your BIBLES and read the SCRIPTURES, the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you WISE unto SALVATION THROUGH FAITH WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS.

ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, THOROUGHLY FURNISHED UNTO ALL GOOD WORKS.(2 timothy 3:15-17).

21But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

22All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

23Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

24But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

26When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

27Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

28Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Ezekiel 18:21-28

8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8

3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

12And they went out, and preached that men should repent. mark 6:12

15And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. mark 1:15

what are you people talking about? These lengthy quotations of scripture and expositions of scripture are just plain crazy talk. Jesus said all laws and scriptures, and His own message, are summed up by the Great Commandments: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.
